Chapter 225, Seventy-Threeth Cycle (55)

Chapter 225, Seventy-Threeth Cycle (55)

Vermouth's hand trembled, and she almost dropped her phone.

The way she looked at Scotland changed again.

I knew Scotland was perverted before, but I never imagined he would be this perverted.

This is extremely rare even in an organization that is almost entirely composed of lunatics.

"Are you serious?" As expected of Gin, he was the first to recover, maintaining his composure and skepticism. His eyes were sharp as he asked, "Didn't you like Bourbon so much? How could you be so willing to kill him?"

Vodka closed his wide-open mouth in shock, thinking to himself that his older brother was still the older brother, and he was still far behind. He then looked curiously at Scotland and Bourbon.

Bourbon turned his head away expressionlessly, avoiding Scotland's hand that was stroking his hair. But he seemed to be the most composed of the group, or perhaps even numb? Had he heard Scotland say something similar many times before?

Scotland withdrew his hand regretfully, but his eyes remained tenderly fixed on the blond youth: "It's precisely because I like him so much."

Gin: "?"

Scotland turned to meet his gaze, the smile on his lips deepening, before he sighed softly, "He's become increasingly disobedient lately, and he's drifting further and further away from me. There's nothing I can do about it."

Gin: "..."

Vodka's hand trembled as he watched Gin's gun-wielding hand, whether from anger or disgust, he felt as if Gin was about to shoot a hole in Scotland's head to wake him up. He quickly stepped forward and said, "Brother, brother, forget it, business is more important."

Kiel, who had been looking complicated and shocked, suddenly decided to let Scotland continue to perform after hearing this.

Unfortunately, Gin ultimately held back.

He glared at Scotland, whose fair cheeks were flushed with a blush of shyness and happiness, yet who was still irresistibly provoking Bourbon's dark face, and at Bourbon, who had finally lost his temper and angrily told Scotland to "shut up." He sneered and pulled a gun from his pocket, smashing it at Scotland.

"What is this?" Scotland easily caught the gun, noticed that it was different from what he expected, and frowned slightly.

“It’s a tranquilizer gun laced with poison.” Gin smirked, a growing malice rising in his cold green eyes. “Didn’t you want to keep Bourbon’s body intact? Isn’t this perfect?”

Scotland deftly disassembled the tranquilizer gun, but couldn't determine the composition of the liquid inside just by looking at the syringe.

“That’s wonderful.” He happily reinstalled the gun and gave Gin a grateful smile. “Thank you so much, Gin.”

Gin choked: "..."

He didn't seem to be faking it.

But I felt even more disgusted and angry!

Unaware of what was going on, Vermouth frowned. She had never heard of poison or tranquilizer guns. What was Gin doing?

She glanced at the vodka first.

Vodka, wearing sunglasses, stood ramrod straight, revealing nothing, but he also showed no surprise or astonishment, clearly aware of the plan.

Vermouth gripped her phone tightly, a hint of anxiety in her eyes.

What does this mean?

Was that gun really loaded with poison? Was the organization really going to kill Bourbon? Were they keeping it from her... because she and Bourbon were close, and they were testing her together?

Or was the gun actually filled with ordinary anesthetic, which Gin later used on his own initiative to test Scotland?

"Alright, I don't have that much time to waste with you guys." Gin raised his gun again, this time aiming it at Gil, his eyes cold, and fired without hesitation.

"Bang!!!"

The unsilenced gunshots echoed deafeningly in the warehouse, instantly sharpening the gaze of Akai Shuichi, who was hiding behind the door outside.

Kiel groaned, blood dripping from the bullet wound in her shoulder. The wire she had just used to unlock the handcuffs fell to the ground with her.

"Gin! You actually fired?!" Bourbon was clearly shocked, his eyes widening slightly. "To treat a comrade like this when it's only in the suspicion stage, isn't that going too far?!"

“Companion?” Gin scoffed, then looked at Scotland. “What do you think, Scotland?”

Scotland deftly twirled the gun in his hand before aiming it precisely at Bourbon's chest, saying expressionlessly, "The organization has always had only one principle for dealing with traitors."

Gin nodded in satisfaction: "That's right, better to kill the innocent than let the guilty go free."

The silver-haired, green-eyed assassin curled his lips into a smile, but his eyes were filled with overwhelming killing intent.

"Alright, now it's time to execute the traitor." A sinister smile gradually spread across his face. It wasn't acting; it was the genuine excitement of a hunter about to kill his prey.

"Wait!" Vermouth panicked a little and stepped forward, saying, "Gin! Are you serious?"

Gin ignored her completely, his wolf-like eyes still darting back and forth between Kiel and Bourbon, the gun still pointed at Kiel's head. He said, "I'll give you one last minute. I'm leaving only one person to interrogate you. First come, first served. Vodka, countdown."

"Yes." Vodka rolled up his sleeves, checked his watch, and began counting down loudly: "60 seconds!"

Kir and Bourbon seemed to realize from the tense and dangerous atmosphere that Gin was serious, and although they managed to remain calm, cold sweat appeared on their faces.

While the two were frantically trying to prove they weren't undercover agents, Shuichi Akai outside the door had already raised his sniper rifle and was aiming it at the inside.

Fortunately, the atmosphere inside was dangerous enough; otherwise, at such close range, they might have realized they were being targeted by guns.

"30 seconds!" Vodka continued counting down.

Even so, Shuichi Akai did not dare to be careless. He did not look at them with murderous intent, and the muzzle of his gun finally stopped at the large light on the warehouse roof through the small crack in the door.

That was the warehouse's only source of light.

And Gin happened to be standing directly below.

"10!"

From Shuichi Akai's angle, it seems he could just catch a glimpse of Bourbon's hands behind his back, quickly unlocking his handcuffs with wire.

The others' view was probably blocked by Scotland, who was standing in front of him. Scotland himself was staring intently into Bourbon's eyes and seemed not to notice. Was it a coincidence?

"3!"

Shuichi Akai withdrew his observation gaze, fixed his eyes on his sniper target, and was about to pull the trigger.

"2!"

Vermouth couldn't help but take another step forward.

"1!"

Gin suddenly turned his gun on Bourbon: "Let's start with you, Bourbon!"

“Zero!!!” Vodka shouted the last number especially loudly.

But he called 0 "zero," and he called it "zero" precisely when Gin called Bourbon.

Even Shuichi Akai's eyelids twitched, and in his shock, he thought that the organization had actually discovered Rei Furuya's true identity.

If it weren't for the powerful physical reflexes developed through years of sniper training that allowed him to instinctively fire when the time was right, he probably would have missed the target because of that "zero" sound.

But no.

The silenced bullet struck the headlight silently, plunging the warehouse into darkness. Falling metal debris grazed Gin, who had just dodged, and crashed to the ground with a loud thud.

"What's wrong?" Vodka asked, both nervous and bewildered.

"What happened?" Vermouth asked, puzzled.

"Did the light fall down?" Scotland's voice remained calm.

"Damn it, Bourbon! Gil! Don't move!" Gin's angry voice rose.

Amid the commotion, he held the gun and aimed it at the spot where Kiel and Bourbon had been standing, but he didn't fire randomly.

"Vermouth! Turn on the light!" he irritably reminded Vermouth, who was already holding her phone the whole time.

Vermouth seemed to only then realize what was happening, and turned on her phone, pretending to be in a hurry to check the situation, and then used the dim light of her phone screen to shine a light on the other side.

Although the phone's glow was very faint, Gin could still barely make out the spot the phone was pointing at, and his eyes narrowed instantly.

Kiel remained in the same spot.

Bourbon, however, has disappeared.

Gin snatched Vermouth's phone, turned on the flashlight to illuminate the area, and saw only an unlocked handcuff and a piece of wire lying nearby.

"Bourbon ran away?" Vermouth also came over and couldn't help but glance at Scotland.

Gin was also looking at Scotland, his eyes full of suspicion.

Scotland shrugged: "You can't blame me for this. Vermouth searched Kiel and she still left him with a barbed wire, didn't she? Bourbon is even more experienced."

Gin didn't want to delve into what that "experience" actually was. He gripped the unlocked handcuffs and abruptly stood up: "Shut up! Search him now! He's definitely still here—"

Without hesitation, Shuichi Akai kicked the door open and, before turning to leave, exchanged a glance with Bourbon, who had already broken free of his handcuffs and was hiding behind a box by the door.

That's all he can do to help. Hopefully, Bourbon can escape or hide later.

"Go after them!" Gin turned around angrily.

Vodka was the first to respond, immediately grabbing his gun and running after the man.

In less than two minutes, such a dramatic reversal occurred, but Vermouth still breathed a sigh of relief.

It's good that Bourbon escaped safely.

She didn't care whether Bourbon was a traitor or not, as long as he was safe.

Vermouth didn't want to stay and suffer Gin's wrath, so she snatched the phone back from his hand and ran outside to pretend to chase after someone.

Anyway, since he's with vodka, if things go well, it might even help Bourbon escape smoothly.

“Wait a minute,” Scotland said.

Vermouth turned around in confusion, and Gin, who was so angry that he was about to shoot the remaining Gil, also looked over coldly.

Scotland looked at them with a smile, raised his hand and waved his lit-up phone, saying, "Curaçao sent a new message, supplementing the previous intelligence."

Gin stared intently into his eyes.

Scotland raised an eyebrow: "Bourbon and Kiel aren't undercover agents. Curaçot only said that because I specifically asked her to keep a close eye on them."

Vermouth leaned closer curiously and saw that Curaçao had indeed resent the complete intelligence. She breathed a sigh of relief and laughed, "What? Oh, I see. So Curaçao has regained her memories?"

Gin stared at Scotland's expression without moving, but with his other hand he took out his phone and called Chianti: "What's the situation in Curaçao now?"

Chianti's booming voice came through the phone: "She's been taken back to that amusement park by the police, the one called the Tokyo Aquarium! Gin! When are we going to make our move?! I absolutely hate those cops!"

“Alright, let’s wait until we bring Curaçao back first.” Gin was furious, so he told Chianti and Cohen to drive the big truck to the amusement park. After hanging up, he sneered at Scotland: “Scotland, you don’t need to come with us. Stay back with Vermouth and provide support.”

To prevent this guy from killing me to silence me.

Scotland sighed, "Actually, I'd rather catch Bourbon."

Vodka returned just then: "Sorry, brother, he got away."

Gin had no hope at all, and scoffed, "With Bourbon's strength, now that he's managed to escape, we can't catch him anytime soon. Right now, we should prioritize confirming the information from Curaçao."

No one objected.

Gin and vodka left immediately.

Vermouth knelt down and unlocked the handcuffs from the injured Gil.

Scotsman, using the red glow of the setting sun to examine his gun, suddenly flicked his wrist and fired, hitting a passing mouse.

Vermouth and Gil were startled and immediately turned to look.

The mouse squeaked and rolled around on the ground, but quickly stopped.

But it is still alive.

This is just a simple tranquilizer gun.

Scotland suddenly laughed.

Vermouth and Gil: "..."

The two silently looked away, not wanting to investigate why a pervert had suddenly started laughing.
