Chapter 68: Mother and Son Share the Same View

"Mom, are you cold?"

Zhuangzhuang saw Xiaoguo shivering and thought she was cold, so he rubbed Xiaoguo's arms vigorously with his little hands.

"Go to bed early and sew tomorrow."

Qin Anming also saw Xiaoguo shivering, and tried to persuade her worriedly.

"It's okay, it's not cold."

Xiaoguo was indeed fine, but she suddenly shuddered for no apparent reason. Maybe someone was talking about her.

Xiaoguo rubbed her eyes, put down the needle and thread in her hand, spread out the half-sewn clothes on the table, and looked carefully to see if there were any asymmetrical threads.

Qin Anming took a look and found that it was clothes made for him. He peeked inside and was immediately delighted. It was really beautiful.

"Go and rest quickly."

Qin Anming said to Xiaoguo.

"Then it's almost time for you to stop studying. It's getting late, so go to bed early."

Xiaoguo looked at the two of them who were still very interested in reading and learning to read, and couldn't help but remind them.

Well, it was getting late, so the three of them packed up their things and went back to the house, each holding a candle.

During the time when Qin Anming was recuperating, he couldn't help but watch Zhuangzhuang studying every day. Unexpectedly, as he watched, his interest in learning was aroused, so Zhuangzhuang acted as a little teacher and taught Qin Anming what he had learned.

By now, Qin Anming has learned quite a few characters, while Zhuangzhuang has finished learning Thousand Character Classic and started learning Rules for Being a Good Pupil and Child.

After more than a month of Xiaoguo's treatment, Qin Anming's body is much stronger than before, and he doesn't feel very tired after working a whole day.

After he recovered, he was anxious to go back to work, saying that he was exhausted from lying down for so long.

After arriving at the field, he seemed to have endless energy. He bent down and weeded. Soon, the grass in the two fields was cleared and not many small fruits were left.

When the two men returned home carrying their hoes, they made the other women who were still working hard weeding in the fields jealous.

Li Zhaodi was so angry that her teeth were itching. When Xiaoguo passed by her, she was even sarcastic to him.

Xiaoguo was not angry. He let Qin Anming go first and followed behind. He said something slowly. When Li Zhaodi heard it, she was so angry that her head was about to burst.

Qin Anming curiously asked Xiaoguo what he had said to make the woman so angry.

Xiao Guo was cheerful and didn't tell him the truth. She just said to him, "That woman Li Zhaodi loves to get angry."

In fact, I didn't say anything, I just pricked her where it hurts.

What does it matter that her husband is an official now? He still can't come back. What does it matter that she is rich? She still has to go to the fields to weed grass and she can never finish weeding.

When Xiaoguo thought of her expression, he couldn't help but laugh.

After listening to Xiaoguo's words, Qin Anming nodded in agreement, indicating that he strongly agreed.

He also knew Li Zhaodi. When they were in Qinzhuang, before Xiaoguo and Li Zhaodi got married, Li Zhaodi would always find excuses to come to their house to find him. Every time she did so, her eyes were red and her buttocks were green. She looked scary, and she would make strange movements every time she saw him.

Xiaoguo didn’t know, but if she knew, she would definitely laugh to death. Li Zhaodi’s shy expression and movements looked strange to Qin Anming, hahahaha.

On the way home, Xiaoguo and Qin Anming stopped by Mrs. Yang's field and saw Mrs. Yang still weeding the grass inside.

"Brother, are you tired?"

As soon as Qin Anming saw Xiaoguo's expression, he knew what she meant.

"Not tired, let's go!"

Xiaoguo smiled and walked towards Mrs. Yang carrying the hoe.

"Sister-in-law! Where have you been digging?"

Xiao Guo asked from a distance. Sister Yang turned around when she heard the voice and saw that it was the two of them. She hurriedly shouted, "No, no, it's almost done! Go back and rest as soon as you're done."

Xiaoguo didn't listen to her. He and Qin Anming followed the traces of the hoe and came to the other two rows of seedlings, and started hoeing with grunts.

Mrs. Yang saw this and didn't show any more leniency. She increased her speed even more, thinking that she should do more work herself and let Xiaoguo and the others help less.

With the help of Xiaoguo and Qin Anming, the land at Yang Dasao's house was quickly cleaned up. The three of them were sweating, carrying hoes, and walking towards home talking and laughing.

Li Zhaodi was so tired that sweat was all over her forehead. She wiped the sweat off her face with her sleeve and squinted her eyes at the three people going away. She spat at them with a "Puh" sound. What's so great about that!!!

There was no more work to do in the fields, so Xiaoguo planned to go to the mountain with Qin Anming to cut trees the next day and then build a cowshed when she came back.

When we got home, Zhuangzhuang was still playing outside with the cow. No one was at home, so Xiaoguo went to prepare lunch.

Qin Anming brought three large duck eggs into the house and put them in the basket which was already full.

“That’s a lot of duck eggs.”

Xiaoguo agreed. During this period, she cooked eggs every morning, but she didn't expect that she couldn't eat as much as the eggs laid by the eggs.

Xiaoguo asked Qin Anming to deliver two duck eggs. For lunch, she had noodles, fried tomato eggs, and diced eggplant and meat.

After dinner was ready, Qin Anming set the table. Xiaoguo washed her hands and saw that Zhuangzhuang had not come back yet, so she prepared to go out to look for him.

As soon as I walked to the door, I saw Zhuangzhuang leading two cows and walking towards the house.

Xiaoguo called out to Zhuangzhuang loudly. Zhuangzhuang heard it and quickened his pace. Xiaoguo went to meet him.

"mother!"

"Why are you back so late today?"

Xiaoguo reached out and pulled the cow over, watching Zhuangzhuang holding the thing in his arms.

Xiaoguo looked at it carefully out of curiosity, and suddenly the cloth moved and made a howling sound.

Xiaoguo was startled, and Zhuangzhuang quickly covered it up, then raised his head and gave Xiaoguo a harmless smile.

Xiao Guo didn't buy his tricks and called out Zhuang Zhuang's name in a slightly threatening tone, "Jiang Qingwen?"

His rising tone made Zhuangzhuang quickly put away his smile and show what was in his arms.

Xiaoguo snorted and looked down. They turned out to be two little puppies.

"Where did you get it?"

"In the pit by the river, there was a big dog next to him, but it was dead."

Listening to Zhuangzhuang's description, Xiaoguo learned that the big dog was the puppy's mother, but she was already dead. From Zhuangzhuang's description, she must have died of starvation. It made sense when he thought about it. In today's world, people can't even get enough to eat, let alone dogs.

Zhuangzhuang was a little puzzled as he saw that Xiaoguo didn't seem angry.

"Mom, aren't you going to scold me?"

Xiao Guo was amused when she heard Zhuang Zhuang's words. "Why would I scold you?"

"Xiao Hu was there at the time and said that if he was allowed to take the dog back, his mother would definitely scold him."

Zhuangzhuang repeated it in Xiaohu's tone, making Xiaoguo laugh.

"I won't scold you, I even think I should praise you!"

Zhuangzhuang was curious why Xiaoguo said that.

"Because mom thinks Zhuang Zhuang is kind, she must have brought them back because she was afraid they would starve to death outside alone, right?"

He nodded vigorously to indicate that this was the case!

Xiao Guo then said, "My son is so kind, why would I scold you as a mother?"

"But Brother Xiaohu said..."

"That's because people nowadays have to take care of their own families and can't take care of them, so Xiaohu's mother won't let Xiaohu take them back."

Seeing that Zhuangzhuang understood, Xiaoguo continued, "Why didn't Mom scold you? Besides because of your kindness, Mom can afford their food, so Mom will let them stay."

Zhuangzhuang nodded to show that he understood.

"Thank you, mom!"

Xiaoguo nodded his little nose and looked down at the two puppies. They were chubby and their little teeth had grown out. It seemed that they were one month old. This way, he wouldn't have to worry about feeding them.

Seeing that Zhuangzhuang was having a hard time holding two babies, Xiaoguo squatted down and took a puppy from Zhuangzhuang's arms. When the puppy was first in Xiaoguo's arms, it called out to her.

Seeing that they were still quite energetic, Xiaoguo couldn't help but feel sad for the mother dog who gave birth to them and then died.

I wanted to ask Zhuangzhuang where it was and bury it myself later, but when Zhuangzhuang heard it, he stretched it out for Xiaoguo to see.

The chubby little hands had fingernails all covered in black mud.

"Mom, I just buried it."

Xiaoguo took a look and found it was true.

“Mother and son think alike!”
