Chapter 24: An unexpected mistake! Killing Prince Xiao

Chapter 24: An unexpected mistake! Killing Prince Xiao

That night, He Zhaojun slept very restlessly. She was still calling her father and brother's names in her dream. Several grown men were standing outside the house, crying.

"My daughter Zhaojun...what should we do?" Everyone was praising He Zhaojun for her loyalty, but who knew that she was just a little girl who didn't know the feeling of sorrow.

When He Zhaojun woke from her nightmare, the sky outside was already turning pale. She wiped the sweat from her forehead, but found that her fingertips had become somewhat transparent. Alarm bells rang in her heart - she couldn't miss the main plot?!

"Mother Fu, what time is it now?"

"My lady, it's already the morning hour."

He Zhaojun quickly got out of bed, threw on her clothes, washed up, and rushed out. Today was the day that Prince Xiao would be executed. Even if she had nightmares for the rest of her life, she had to go and kill her enemy.

Along the way, she ran towards the Tingwei Prison with a sword in hand, fearing that she would miss the main plot. As soon as she got closer, she saw a disheveled prisoner with his hands tied behind his back, running towards her as if he was desperate.

The soldiers were chasing him closely, and someone shouted, "The prisoner has escaped! Stop him! Kill him!"

The man seemed to recognize He Zhaojun, grinning, holding a dagger in his hand, and was about to threaten her. He Zhaojun had learned swordsmanship for many days, but had never applied it in actual combat.

It was just dawn, and she didn't see clearly who the person was. She drew her sword, swung it in a sword flower, and the blade swept across the man's neck. There was a "boom...gulp" sound, and a huge head fell to the ground and rolled at He Zhaojun's feet.

The man's tall body, headless, swayed twice before collapsing, blood gushing out like a fountain, splashing all over He Zhaojun's face. The smell of blood made her want to vomit, and she tried to cover her mouth and nose with her sleeves, but found that both sleeves were stained with the man's blood.

The eldest and fifth brothers ran over and saw her holding a sword, covered in blood, standing in a pool of blood like a demon. They were terrified and came up to pull her hand. "Zhaojun, are you hurt?"

He Zhaojun originally wanted to answer, but as soon as she opened her mouth, she felt nauseous and turned her head to vomit. She missed lunch yesterday because she was building a machine with Cheng Shaoshang, and she was unconscious during dinner. She didn't have time to eat breakfast today.

My stomach is empty and I can only vomit out some acid.

"I'm fine... Ugh... Who is this person?" He Zhaojun finally stopped vomiting. Seeing the two brothers standing there, she felt something was wrong and hurriedly asked.

They looked at each other with complicated expressions.

"This man is none other than Prince Xiao, the son of Prince Yong."

He Zhaojun took two steps back, looked at her bloodstained skirt and shoes, and said through gritted teeth: "You deserve to be killed! This traitor deserves to have his head and body separated. This is retribution."

But she had never imagined that this Qingfeng Sword was so sharp that it could cut through iron like mud and actually cut off Xiao Shizi's head with one sword. She felt something in her heart and looked back. Cheng Shaoshang was standing at the end of the road, his head buried in Ling Buyi's arms.

"Brother, I want to go home."

He Zhaojun's eyes had turned red at some point, but she forced herself to hold them back and not let the tears fall.

I actually killed Xiao Shizi with one sword... I killed someone...

A carriage stopped beside her, and the Third Prince jumped out. "Zhaojun, your two brothers didn't know you were coming, so they didn't bring a carriage. I'll take you home. Get in."

He Zhaojun shook her head: "Third Prince, I am covered in blood and I am afraid that I will stain your carriage."

Seeing the little girl trembling all over and on the verge of collapse, the third prince even stopped crying. Without saying a word, he pinched the back of her neck, wrapped her in his cloak, and carried her to the carriage.
