Chapter Thirteen

Chapter Thirteen

Huo Yuzheng had a social engagement on Friday night.

I had told Mo Wansheng in advance that I would be going back tonight, and I originally planned to go back early.

However, the unexpected arrival of the other party's boss changed the nature of the dinner.

The wine cups were clinked and the drinks were served several times.

It was nearly midnight when Huo Yuzheng got into the driver's car.

The driver asked, "Mr. Huo, are we going back to the apartment in the city?"

"No, please take me back to my suburban villa today."

“Yes, Mr. Huo.”

He gently rubbed his temples, leaned back in the leather seat, and soon drifted off to sleep.

Unlike his usual self, he was truly exhausted.

The downtown apartment was convenient, and it was only a ten-minute walk from where he needed to socialize.

Although the road conditions were good at midnight, it still took him a full half hour to get back to his suburban villa. By the time he arrived home, it was past midnight.

The driver woke him up, and he opened his tired eyes and got out of the car.

By this time, the lights in the villa's living room would usually be off.

It's still lit up today.

It seems someone hasn't slept.

Huo Yuzheng opened the villa's door, and Mo Wansheng was lying on the living room sofa, the television blaring.

She looked at him, lightly pressed a button on the remote control, and the TV went black.

In an instant, the large living room became unusually quiet in the dead of night.

His voice was hoarse, "Waiting for me?"

Mo Wansheng glanced at the large clock in the living room; it was already the next day.

He missed his chance!

So he retorted confidently, "I wasn't waiting for you. You're just being delusional. I just finished watching TV."

She put on her slippers, turned around, and was about to leave.

Huo Yuzheng caught up with her and suddenly hugged Mo Wansheng from behind.

He reeked of alcohol.

Mo Wansheng turned her head to look at the drunkard beside her, wondering how much he had drunk today.

She reached out to try to remove him from her body, but Huo Yuzheng's large hand gripped her waist even tighter.

"What are you doing?" she raised her voice, as if issuing a warning.

"Don't move."

Mo Wansheng felt Huo Yuzheng's heartbeat, firm and resonant, transmitted to her through his back.

She sighed. After waiting for ages, all she got was a drunkard. What was going on?

"How long do you want to hold me?"

She was also thinking of going back to her room to find "Blueberry Cake" and play a couple of games.

Because he specifically said he would be home tonight, she waited for him in the living room.

In order to wait for Huo Yuzheng to return, she made a bet with herself.

If he returned before midnight, she would generously share her chocolate with him.

If he doesn't come back, then the chocolate's final destination will be her stomach.

As a result, she didn't even have the game online.

I spent the entire night in the living room.

His tall stature was still too heavy for her.

Just as she was about to remove the hands from her waist, Huo Yuzheng leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Mrs. Huo, could I have a piece of chocolate?"

The smell of alcohol wafted around her neck, making her feel slightly drunk as well.

But Mo Wansheng shook her head; she had to stay awake.

She grasped Huo Yuzheng's tightly clasped hand, trying to remove it, and said with a smile, "Mr. Huo, could you loosen your grip a bit? I'm having trouble breathing."

He didn't want to let go, so he kept holding her like that.

But in the end, he complied with her request and loosened his grip a little.

Mo Wansheng took the opportunity to pull his hand away and break free from his embrace.

She kept a very large safe distance from Huo Yuzheng, giving him a wide berth.

The tense atmosphere calmed down in an instant.

Huo Yuzheng chuckled and casually leaned back on the sofa.

"Why are you hiding?"

"You smell too strongly of alcohol, I don't like it," Mo Wansheng said somewhat angrily. She went to the kitchen, got a glass of water, and came back.

She slammed the water glass down on the coffee table beside her. "Hey, wake up a bit."

"Thanks."

She turned to leave, not wanting to pay any attention to this drunkard.

There was a rustling sound coming from the sofa. Huo Yuzheng wanted to stand up, but he sat back down weakly.

Mo Wansheng took a few big steps forward, but ultimately turned back.

She turned to look at Huo Yuzheng, who looked like a lump of mud; he was almost unrecognizable today.

So, even he has his embarrassing moments.

Although she knew this was normal, and that socializing was something that could never be avoided in business.

Drinking parties are always an indispensable part of life.

This is especially true as the business grows.

Mo Ningchuan was the same way, often staying out late into the night before returning home.

When she was little, she especially loved waiting for her father to come home.

Because she couldn't wait for her mother to come back.

She was still growing at that time, and she became drowsy while waiting.

Once Mo Ningchuan discovered it, he wouldn't allow her to wait any longer.

But she would always lie in bed staring blankly at the ceiling.

She wanted to wait for her father to come back.

Even if it's a father who reeks of alcohol.

Most of the time, she was fast asleep.

Occasionally when she was awake, she would see car lights in the yard through the second-floor window, and then she would run downstairs.

Her father is very kind; he brings her candy.

She knew her father was coming home so late to earn money for her, to buy her pretty princess dresses and delicious candy.

But this was the first time she had ever seen Huo Yuzheng like this.

"I'll go run you a bath. Get some rest soon." Mo Wansheng sighed helplessly.

Huo Yuzheng: "Mrs. Huo, chocolate."

Mo Wansheng was getting a little angry. What time is it? She's still thinking about his chocolate.

She was getting a little impatient. "I saved it for you! I'll give it to you tomorrow!"

A smile played on Huo Yuzheng's lips. "Thank you, Mrs. Huo."

Watching that furious figure disappear at the top of the stairs, he felt a surge of warmth in his heart for some reason.

After a while, Mo Wansheng returned and urged Huo Yuzheng to wash up as if it were his life.

Huo Yuzheng nodded and obediently got up slowly. Due to the effects of alcohol, he was not very steady on his feet and swayed a little.

Mo Wansheng muttered under her breath, "What a troublesome person."

She offered her arm reluctantly, saying, "Come on up, don't fall and go to work with panda eyes tomorrow."

Huo Yuzheng ultimately did not press his weight down on her; he simply reached out and gently grasped her slender wrist.

His hands were large, and he easily encircled her.

Her hands were a little cold.

His body temperature was very high.

The intense heat from Mo Wansheng's hand burning her heart.

"No need to help."

He paused, then added, "That's good."

Mo Wansheng tried to pull her hand back, but he held it tightly.

Helpless, she walked towards the bathroom, leading Huo Yuzheng along.

What should have been a short journey felt incredibly long to Mo Wansheng at that moment.

Her gaze kept drifting towards the wrist that was being held.

Finally, they reached the bathroom door. Huo Yuzheng gently released her wrist, and she quickly withdrew her hand and put it behind her back.

"Thank you, Mrs. Huo."

"I left my pajamas inside! I'm going to sleep! You're welcome!" Mo Wansheng practically fled, running all the way back to the master bedroom.

Her heart was pounding; the emotional impact she had suffered in those short ten minutes was immense.

Throughout her twenty-four years of life, after developing a concept of the opposite sex, she never hugged or held hands with a man.

The budding emotions of adolescence remain at the level of observation and curiosity.

Although her "first kiss" was taken away at the wedding, it was ultimately just a performance, and it was also accompanied by the cheers of the crowd.

On the contrary, the emotional turmoil I felt was not as intense as it was today.

Today, Huo Yuzheng hugged her and held her hand.

These are not superficial touches, but rather forceful ones.

She had seen countless men and women embracing and kissing in the game.

At the time, I only felt that it was wonderful, and I had a glimmer of hope in my heart.

But that's ultimately someone else's story, someone else's vibrant youth.

Tonight, even though it was just a brief touch, it threw her into a panic.

That tall figure, those burning hot palms, were unfamiliar, and carried a sense of oppression.

All of this has left its mark on her body.

She recalled that night after their marriage, when she flirtatiously entered Huo Yuzheng's study.

Show him your unique adult charm.

She blamed him and refused to let her in.

Looking back now, if he had actually accepted her...

Can she handle everything that someone she doesn't know very well brings her?

The burning sensation in my heart is a hormonal frenzy, a collision of intracranial neuroelectrochemistry.

She was curious, afraid, and expectant.

Mo Wansheng took a deep breath and heard the heavy sound of the door closing beside her.

He had probably finished showering and was getting ready for bed.

She gently opened the door and glanced at it out of the corner of her eye.

If there were no problems, he closed the door again, turned on the light, and lay down on the bed.

She didn't sleep well; her mind was filled with all sorts of random thoughts.

The next morning, Mo Wansheng pretended to be calm and went downstairs to have breakfast.

Huo Yuzheng got up early, and as usual, he showed no signs of fatigue from the previous night.

Mo Wansheng exclaimed, "People with high energy recover so quickly!"

"Good morning, Mrs. Huo." Huo Yuzheng put down the newspaper in his hand and looked at Mo Wansheng.

Mo Wansheng chuckled awkwardly twice, "Good morning."

"Mrs. Huo, you worked hard last night," Huo Yuzheng said calmly.

A seemingly casual remark drew furtive glances from the servants nearby at the two of them, their gossipy eyes quite blatant.

Mo Wansheng coughed and buried herself in her breakfast; she simply couldn't continue the conversation with him.

I thought Huo Yuzheng would eat breakfast quietly, but to my surprise, he spoke up again.

I'm off tomorrow.

Mo Wansheng pouted. He was resting, so what did it have to do with her?

Huo Yuzheng then added, "Is there anything you'd like to do? I can go with you."

Hearing this, Mo Wansheng was stunned. She almost choked on the toast she was chewing, so she quickly grabbed the milk next to her and took a swig.

"This...this isn't necessary, is it?"

Tomorrow is also a rare day off for her, and she's prepared to stay home and play games all day. She has no plans to go on a date with this guy.

“Then, Mrs. Huo.” Huo Yuzheng paused, looking at Mo Wansheng, his dark eyes seeming to be deep in thought, “I have something I want to do. Would you like to come with me?”

He was more direct than Mo Wansheng had imagined.

She gave a forced smile, her cheeks stiffened, and she said dryly, "Mr. Huo, what do you want to do?"
