Chapter Three

Chapter Three

They weaved through the noisy crowd, and because Mo Wansheng's hand was still on Huo Yuzheng's arm, she had to keep up with his pace.

"Where are you going?" Mo Wansheng asked reproachfully.

Huo Yuzheng remained silent and led her around a corridor.

The corridor was deserted.

He turned the handle of the room at the end of the corridor and led Mo Wansheng inside.

The room was completely dark.

"What are you going to do?" Mo Wansheng broke free from Huo Yuzheng's arms and crossed her arms in front of her chest.

Huo Yuzheng: "Nothing."

He turned on the light switch next to the door, and the room became bright.

This room is unremarkable.

It was a private room with a mahogany round table and ten chairs.

"Sit down." Huo Yuzheng pulled out a chair and gestured for Mo Wansheng to sit down.

Mo Wansheng looked Huo Yuzheng up and down, wondering why he was acting so strangely.

Although she was indeed tired, she did not sit in the chair that Huo Yuzheng had pulled out.

She changed direction, pulled out another chair next to her, and sat down.

Keeping a certain distance from him is never a bad thing.

"Will you stay here and let the wedding banquet proceed smoothly?"

Huo Yuzheng approached Mo Wansheng, and Mo Wansheng subconsciously moved her buttocks back halfway.

He sat down in the chair next to her and said calmly, "Rest when you're tired, there's no need to push yourself."

She turned her face away, refusing to look at Huo Yuzheng.

"Aren't you good at talking a good game?"

"so?"

Mo Wansheng was determined to get back at him for the "disadvantage" she had inflicted on the day they got their marriage certificate.

"You speak so eloquently to others, but why were you so infuriating to me the other day?"

Huo Yuzheng was clearly stunned for a long time.

“That’s work when you’re out there.”

Mo Wansheng mimicked his tone from before, "So?"

"You're not working."

Mo Wansheng scoffed, "That's just empty talk, isn't it?"

She turned her face to meet Huo Yuzheng's dark eyes, trying to find a trace of a lie.

However, the familiar calm remained.

"That's the truth."

She knew he was telling the truth, but she had no intention of letting him off the hook.

"Isn't arranged marriage a job? This is related to work, isn't it?"

Huo Yuzheng suddenly leaned forward, and a faint smell of alcohol brushed past her ear.

Mo Wansheng clearly leaned back to avoid the sudden attack.

"It's not impossible for Mrs. Huo to think that way, but I don't think that way."

Huo Yuzheng moved away, and she began to breathe heavily.

Mo Wansheng glared at him; he was actually smiling.

The private room wasn't heated, yet red paint was spilled on her cheeks, mixed with a hint of annoyance.

"What are you laughing at? I think you're just..."

"What is it?" Huo Yuzheng's smile deepened.

Mo Wansheng gritted her teeth, her gaze fixed on the corner of his mouth that was turned up. She suddenly recalled her first kiss at the wedding.

He's so skilled; it must not have been his first kiss.

Thinking about this made her even angrier.

So she ignored Huo Yuzheng's teasing, got up, stomped her high heels, and left.

Watching the light-footed figure disappear through the door, Huo Yuzheng's gaze then shifted to the wedding ring on the ring finger of his left hand.

It's rare to see someone so energetic after just a short rest.

...

During the latter half of the wedding banquet, the couple were busy with their own things and didn't exchange a single word. By the time they returned to their marital villa, it was nearly 10 p.m.

Mo Wansheng felt like her whole body was about to fall apart. She hadn't removed her makeup or taken a shower. As soon as she entered the villa, she collapsed onto the sofa.

She completely ignored Huo Yuzheng's presence.

What he thinks is unimportant.

If she didn't lie down soon, she would die.

Throughout the entire wedding banquet, she almost suffocated, hiding her true self within the shell of a well-bred lady.

For Mo Wansheng, who is a homebody with a full stack of homebody buffs, the level of social interaction on this day far exceeded her social level for a whole year.

While the public social interactions within this circle are certainly important, for her, the option of relaxing at home is undoubtedly more appealing.

Mo Wansheng gently swayed her two slender legs as she turned over.

She saw Huo Yuzheng walking towards her.

She suddenly sat up straight and put her hand between the two of them.

"No, no, no, brother, I said we each get what we need."

"I'm really exhausted today. I'm practically paralyzed from acting all day. Please give me a day off."

However, before she could finish speaking, Mo Wansheng felt a sudden lightness all over her body as Huo Yuzheng lifted her up in his arms.

What is he trying to do?

Mo Wansheng's breath hitched, and she instinctively wanted to push Huo Yuzheng away.

"Stop fooling around." The smell of alcohol lingered between them, probably from drinking quite a bit at the wedding reception. Huo Yuzheng's already deep voice was now even more hoarse.

Mo Wansheng was currently suspended in mid-air, terrified that she would fall.

She screamed, "What exactly do you want?"

Huo Yuzheng ignored her and carried her forward.

Life is more important than saving face.

She didn't want to fall.

Mo Wansheng snuggled closer to Huo Yuzheng, and then wrapped her arms around his neck.

She pressed her entire body weight onto his chest.

Huo Yuzheng tensed up a bit.

I must say, it's quite sturdy. It should feel nice to the touch.

Huo Yuzheng carried Mo Wansheng upstairs and all the way to the bathroom.

Mo Wansheng was stunned. What was going on? Did this person have some kind of special play fetish?

Huo Yuzheng bent down and gently placed her into the bathtub, causing Mo Wansheng to blush with embarrassment.

"You, you, you!"

"Take a shower and get some rest." Huo Yuzheng closed the door for her and left without saying another word.

The moment he closed the door, Huo Yuzheng closed his eyes for a moment. In fact, he had no intention of teasing Mo Wansheng.

But seeing the girl looking like a lazy little lamb, completely dazed, he couldn't resist and walked over to her, who was curled up on the sofa.

The girl waved her hands to refuse his arrival, and he began to have evil thoughts.

So he picked her up in his arms.

He wanted to see her reaction.

This time, he was probably really drunk.

Mo Wansheng leaned against the bathtub, gazing up at the ceiling. A silence fell over the bathroom as she realized just how outrageous her behavior had been.

What on earth is she thinking about?

It seems she's been playing too many pornographic games, even though many of them go exactly as she expected.

After a quick wash, Mo Wansheng stepped out of the bathroom and tiptoed down the corridor to the master bedroom.

Pushing open the door, I saw only a small lamp lit inside.

Huo Yuzheng was not in the bedroom; he went to an empty room next door.

Mo Wansheng was so tired that she didn't think too much, lifted a corner of the quilt, and crawled inside.

There was a warm, sweet scent in the bed, and for some reason, she thought of the kiss at her wedding.

...

That night, she slept soundly.

When she woke up, it was already noon the next day. Huo Yuzheng left early to go to work.

She stretched her limbs, her whole body aching.

Getting married is a terrible sin.

After finishing her lunch downstairs, Mo Wansheng started working.

She bought a brand new computer set and hired a moving company to bring over some essential items as well.

She asked the housekeeper if there were any empty rooms in the house where she could store her things.

"Madam, the master instructed that you may arrange the other rooms as you wish, except for the one at the very end of the second-floor corridor."

"Where is the best internet?"

"Well... I'm sorry, madam. There's Wi-Fi everywhere in the house, but as for which spot has the best Wi-Fi, I really don't know."

"It's okay, it's okay, thank you."

Mo Wansheng then took her phone and started testing the internet speed throughout the villa, all the way to the room that Huo Yuzheng didn't allow anyone else to use.

The internet speed there is the fastest.

She clicked her tongue, "This guy really knows how to enjoy himself."

"I wonder what he's doing in this room."

Without saying a word, she then had the moving company move all the computer equipment into a room next to Huo Yuzheng's dark room.

Mo Wansheng spent an afternoon setting up her e-sports room.

The game, which she hadn't touched for two days, lit up again, and her heart cheered.

In the game's friends interface, "Blueberry Cake's" avatar is black.

Although she wasn't surprised, her gaming partner was never online during the day.

but.

The small print below the profile picture caught her attention: "Last login two days ago."

She hasn't been online for two whole days.

Mo Wansheng immediately wilted. Could it be that she wasn't coming to play games tonight either?

She opened her WeChat account, which she called "Shengzhuzi," and sent a message to "Blueberry Cake."

"Hey hey hey, wanna play games tonight?"

She had intended to call her "darling" as she habitually did, but ultimately deleted it.

Even though the person opposite is a cute and gentle girl, it's perfectly fine to call her that.

But Huo Yuzheng's figure inexplicably appeared before her eyes.

After all, she and "Blueberry Cake" had just gotten married, so calling her "darling" didn't seem quite right.

She didn't receive a reply from "Blueberry Cake" until 8 p.m.

"Sorry, I've been quite busy these days."

"It's okay! It's okay! Let's meet up again next time!"

Mo Wansheng felt a little regretful; playing games alone was never as enjoyable as playing with someone.

Since ancient times, the ultimate gaming experience has been with friends.

She slumped back in the gaming chair; he must have gone on his honeymoon and didn't have time to play games with her.

Sure enough, it's no different for her to be married than to be single.

There was a knock at the door. Mo Wansheng got up and opened the door a crack. She peeked in.

Unexpectedly, it was Huo Yuzheng.

She didn't widen the crack in the door, but instead forced out a standard, knowing smile, intending to get rid of the man first.

"Good evening, Mr. Huo. What can I do for you?"

Huo Yuzheng stared at her stiff expression with some surprise. "Is there anything wrong? Have you had dinner?"

"Not yet." Mo Wansheng gave an awkward smile.

She spent the entire afternoon either packing her luggage or grinding in dungeons.

Without the "blueberry cake," she scrubbed more hard than usual, completely forgetting that her stomach was growling.

"Let's go together then." Huo Yuzheng strode away, not giving Mo Wansheng a chance to refuse.

Mo Wansheng then opened the door, her face full of guilt.

After leaving the room, she quickly closed the door to the e-sports room.

I feel it's not good to let my cold-faced husband know that his newlywed wife is a hardcore gamer.

Mo Wansheng, wearing slippers, caught up with Huo Yuzheng and they arrived at the restaurant.

On the huge dining table, there was nothing that Mo Wansheng didn't like to eat.

"I wonder if it suits your taste?"

Mo Wansheng was pleasantly surprised; it was obvious that they had done market research beforehand.

The housekeeper brought the last dish of cordyceps and black chicken soup to the table and looked at Mo Wansheng with a smile.

"Madam, please eat more. Mr. Huo cooked this himself today!"

Huo Yuzheng remained calm, silently serving Mo Wansheng a bowl of soup.

"Thank you!" Mo Wansheng took the small bowl and asked incredulously, "Did you make all of this?"

She can bake pastries, but she has never learned to cook.

"Well, I just made something quick. It's a tradition in the Huo family to cook a meal for the newlywed wife."

Mo Wansheng took a sip of the still-steaming chicken soup; it was very flavorful.

So the Huo family is busy cultivating top students in male virtue classes every day.

"How many hours did you simmer this soup?" Mo Wansheng asked with a satisfied look, finishing the rest of the soup in one gulp.

"I stewed it for an hour in the morning, and then stewed it for another hour after I got back from work in the evening."

Mo Wansheng thought she was hallucinating. Was he some kind of time management master?

She pressed further, "So what time do you get up in the morning?"

"4:30."

She was stunned. It was 4:30. She even doubted whether she had heard correctly. She had hardly ever gotten up early in her life.

Despite only getting five hours of sleep, Huo Yuzheng still had the energy to go to work and cook.

This person is a robot made of iron.

"Thank you for your hard work!"

"Um."

What does "hmm" mean? Is this someone trying to take credit?

Mo Wansheng's eyes darted around as she wondered if she should shower him with more compliments.

Her long-term gaming experience has led her to habitually dissect people she encounters in real life into multiple individual game characters.

Game characters may be one-dimensional, flat characters, but through permutations and combinations, they can form a rich variety of personalities in reality.

But she really couldn't see through the one in front of her.

Mo Wansheng knew that Huo Yuzheng was the kind of aloof, icy beauty, but he never showed his emotions on his face. Even if she wanted to win him over, she didn't know what to say.

She fears these fake people who keep everything bottled up inside, who clearly have emotions and desires but always look completely indifferent.

Such people always wear a thick mask.

They can laugh even when they want to cry, and they can say they like something when they clearly hate it.

Seeing that Huo Yuzheng didn't speak again, she didn't say another word.

After a hearty meal and a short rest, Mo Wansheng took a bath.

This time, she deliberately went around to the room next to the master bedroom, where Huo Yuzheng was still handling official business.

The man's entire gaze was focused on the computer screen in front of him. For once, Mo Wansheng noticed Huo Yuzheng, who was wearing gold-rimmed glasses.

She couldn't help herself; her eyes seemed glued to his face as she stared straight at him.
