Chapter 112 You dare to try to fool me with a fake!

Chapter 112 You dare to try to fool me with a fake!

Zhao Zhifang drove all the way to Li Huai's school and asked the security guard at the gate to help carry the things inside.

With only a few days left until the college entrance examination, parents come to deliver things every day, and the security guards are used to it.

Soon, the basket of strawberries was in Li Huai's hands.

The classmates all looked on with envy.

"Li Huai, are these the strawberries Yan Sui grew?"

"Isn't it supposed to smell really good? I can't smell any fragrance at all."

"Yes, they look almost exactly the same as the strawberries sold in the supermarket."

Li Huai's expression changed slightly; in fact, he also felt that the strawberries were somewhat different from the last time.

But having already made that boast, how could he possibly contradict himself now?

“My maternal grandmother lives in Changqing Village, how could it be fake!”

A boy leaned in and said with a grin, "Li Huai, let us have a taste too."

Li Huai slapped his hand away and said irritably, "Meng Chuan reserved all of these things, and I haven't eaten any of them."

Mention Meng Chuan and everyone quiets down.

He was a notorious student in the international class; he was rich but a troublemaker, and he was involved in all sorts of fights.

Li Huai wasn't particularly close to him either; when he tried to get closer, the other man completely ignored him.

That's why he wanted to use Yan Sui's strawberries to get closer to Meng Chuan.

"Brother Chuan, your strawberries have arrived."

Meng Chuan had already transferred the money to him, and he simply took the strawberries.

He had eaten Yan Sui's strawberries elsewhere before, just one, and it had made him crave them ever since.

He picked up a strawberry and popped it into his mouth.

After chewing a couple of times, my mouth was filled with sourness, and there was hardly any strawberry flavor.

"Pooh!"

Meng Chuan spat the strawberries directly onto Li Huai's face, his expression contorted in rage.

"You dare to try and fool me with a fake!"

Before Li Huai could react, Meng Chuan punched him to the ground.

He lunged at the desk, and fell off the desk along with himself.

"You dare to sell this piece of junk to me for a hundred yuan a pound? Do you think I'm rich and that you're taking advantage of me?"

Enraged, Meng Chuan grabbed Li Huai by the collar and lifted him up.

Li Huai's face turned bright red. "These strawberries really were bought from Changqing Village! My mom wouldn't lie to me! I'll call my grandma right now and ask her. She'll definitely buy the strawberries for you!"

Meng Chuan stared at him coldly and threatened viciously, "You better really have strawberries. If you dare to lie to me again, I'll break your legs!"

Li Huai was so frightened that he wet himself. He knew in his heart that Meng Chuan's threats were not just empty words.

If he dares to have any ulterior motives, he'll really lose his leg.

He immediately ran to find Zhao Shan.

"Call Grandma and tell her to pick five pounds of strawberries and bring them over right away!"

Zhao Shan impatiently brushed his hand away, "What strawberry? Are you crazy?!"

Li Huai gripped her shoulders tightly, his voice trembling with tension: "You have to help me! I took Meng Chuan's money, and if I don't give him the strawberries, I'm dead!"

Zhao Shan gritted her teeth, "What does what you promised have to do with me? I already told you, Yan Sui's strawberries are all gone!"

"I don't believe it!"

"Don't believe me then!"

Zhao Shan pushed him away forcefully and turned to go into the classroom.

But Li Huai saw her as a lifeline and would not let her go easily.

"If you help me this once, I'll tell you something!"

Zhao Shan glanced at him sideways and said, "What good things can you possibly say?"

Li Huai gripped her arm tightly, his eyes filled with malice.

What if this matter relates to your college entrance exam?

Zhao Shan observed his expression; it didn't seem fake.

"Tell me first, and then I'll consider whether I should help you."

She was just trying to fool Li Huai.

Yan Sui's strawberries were all gone long ago; what could she possibly do?

Li Huai swallowed hard, a flicker of fear crossing his eyes as he thought of Meng Chuan.

"Did your parents ask you to come home for dinner tonight?"

Zhao Shan narrowed her eyes. "What do they want from me?"

“Once you go home, they will lock you up and prevent you from taking the college entrance examination.”

Li Huai was desperate and could only resort to any means necessary, hoping that Zhao Shan could help him.

"Really, I'm not lying to you."

Zhao Shan was stunned, a mix of emotions churning within her, making it impossible to discern any particular feeling.

Of course she was heartbroken; they were her own parents.

But Zhao Shan wasn't surprised that they did such a thing.

That's the most tragic thing.

After a long while, she finally found her voice: "I understand."

She wouldn't be grateful to Li Huai, because he was definitely involved in this matter.

"What about my matter..."

Zhao Shan said coldly, "I'll go find the teacher to get my phone and make a call later."

Li Huai slowly exhaled, his expression relaxing.

"Then hurry up, I can't wait much longer."

"knew."

Zhao Shan did indeed go to see the teacher and did make a phone call.

She asked Grandma Zhao to help her get leave so she could go directly to the exam venue on the day of the college entrance exam and wouldn't have to go back to school.

The teacher will only agree if a parent intervenes.

After taking leave, Zhao Shan hurriedly packed her things and returned to Changqing Village.

Li Huai, who was still anxiously waiting for strawberries at school, had long been forgotten by her.

"Shanshan? Why are you back at this time?" Yan Sui saw her from afar.

Zhao Shan trusted her a lot and told her about her parents' plans.

As she spoke, her eyes welled up with tears.

"Sister Yan Sui, am I not their child? Why are they treating me like this?"

Yan Sui patted her head and said, "Being a parent doesn't require an exam. If it did, most parents would fail. What you need to do now is give up your expectations of them, focus on your exams, and study hard."

Zhao Shan wiped away her tears forcefully. "I understand, Sister Yan Sui. I'll go find my grandma first."

"Okay, remember to have Grandma take you to the exam, so you don't end up alone."

Who knows if Zhao Zhifang and Li Jie might be so heartless as to attack her on the street?

Zhao Shan obediently agreed, but after taking a few steps, she couldn't help but turn back to look at her.

"Sister Yan Sui, you have to be careful of my parents."

Zhao Zhifang is a stubborn and unreasonable person. She won't let it go after buying counterfeit goods from Granny Zhang.

"If you have any problems, go to the police. There are so many people in front of you, it's not your place to worry about these things. Adjust your mindset and focus on the exam."

"Okay, after I finish my college entrance exam, can I work part-time here?"

Yan Sui smiled and said, "Of course."

After watching Zhao Shan leave, Yan Sui packed her things and headed back with her vegetable basket.

The road home was straight, and from a distance she saw Guo Qiang running towards her with a stick in his hand.

His face was contorted with rage, and he was cursing under his breath; it was clear he had no good intentions.

Yan Sui put the basket full of vegetables aside, when she suddenly heard a sound behind her.

She didn't have time to turn around because Guo Qiang was already in front of her.

He raised the stick high, his snarling face becoming even more ferocious.

Yan Sui twisted her wrist and raised her hand to slap him across the face.

Guo Qiang was like a rag doll, tumbling twice in the air before crashing heavily to the ground, kicking up clouds of dust.

He was lying on the ground, his internal organs aching as if they had shifted, and his face was contorted with pain from the effort.

With a soft "pfft," he spat out two teeth.

Yan Sui didn't rush to talk to him. She turned around and met Fu Yansheng and Qu Jiang.

Qu Jiang remained in the gesture of reaching out to her, her eyes wide with astonishment.

"Mr. Qu, were you speaking to me just now?"

Qu Jiang stared at her blankly, then suddenly shuddered.

How brutal!

It turns out that Yan Junming's previous statement, "My sister can slap a 300-pound pig to death," was not an exaggeration!
