Chapter 33 Let's go pick up some free stuff
The next morning, Yan Sui went to find Fu Yansheng.
She handed him the hoe. "Let's go."
Fu Yansheng remained silent for a moment, then asked, "What is this?"
Yan Sui: "You don't even recognize a hoe?"
Fu Yansheng's expression was complicated, as he had unlocked yet another new experience in life.
The hand that used to sign contracts worth hundreds of millions is now wielding a hoe.
With Yan Sui's encouragement, they dug a pit for her.
Fu Yansheng paused, then clicked his tongue.
Yan Sui stared at him, wide-eyed. "Why did you stop?"
"Quiet down."
"oh."
If it hadn't rained these past few days, digging a hole would have been a really difficult task.
Before long, a corner of what Sui Sui was looking for was revealed.
It was a black mass, and you couldn't tell what it was.
It was about the size of a baby's fist. Yan Sui held it in her palm and felt the energy contained within.
Fu Yansheng held a hoe in one hand, exuding a cool and noble air; one might mistake him for holding a king's sword.
"What's this?"
Yan Sui shook her head. "I don't know either, but it's definitely not a good thing."
She casually tossed it to Sui Sui, and Fu Yansheng's eyes widened once again.
This little guy with short legs actually had pretty good jumping ability; he leaped up and swallowed the dark thing whole.
Fu Yansheng: "?"
"You just fed it like that?"
Yan Sui raised her voice, "That's why I came to dig it up. It's because it wanted to eat it."
Fu Yansheng looked puzzled, but Yan Sui didn't explain further.
"I need to go to the market again, are you coming?"
"Go, as I promised you."
Yan Sui smiled and said, "Okay, I have a car, I'll drive you."
When Fu Yansheng came down from the orchard, she realized that what she called a vehicle was actually a pink electric tricycle.
"..."
Yan Sui turned around and said, "Hurry up and get in the car!"
There was a seat next to her.
Fu Yansheng hesitated for a moment, but finally sat down.
"Hold on tight, we're off!"
Fu Yansheng hummed in agreement and gripped the armrest beside him.
Just then, Qu Jiang drove past.
He almost thought he was hallucinating and immediately got out of the car.
Qujiang rubbed his eyes vigorously.
Don't panic when things happen; taking out your phone and recording a video is the right thing to do.
But Yan Sui drove very fast, and in no time the stylish pink tricycle was gone.
She drove a tricycle with the flair of a sports car.
Upon arriving at the market, Yan Sui first carried over a dozen pots of strawberries, took some cherry tomato seedlings, and bought a large bag of seeds.
She also plans to plant some flowers in the yard, but she needs to consider their cold hardiness, so her choices are limited.
The first thing she looked at was climbing roses. She chose the Parade variety because the shopkeeper said it had a lot of blooms and was perfect for making a flower wall.
Secondly, there's the yellow celebration; a rich variety of colors makes it beautiful.
After buying these items, Yan Sui led Fu Yansheng out of the market.
Fu Yansheng asked, "Is this all you're buying?"
Yan Sui blinked. "Of course not, we're going to pick up some things that don't cost money."
Fu Yansheng: "..."
He had a bad feeling.
Then, Yan Sui led him to the garbage station of the flower market.
This place is filled with various dying and withered flowers and plants, as well as discarded flower pots.
What is garbage to others is paradise to Yan Sui.
It's free! Everything is free!
The thought of just spending two million makes her feel heartbroken.
Every little bit helps.
Fu Yansheng silently looked at the pile of garbage and took a deep breath.
"You want to pick it up here?"
"Oh, it's free."
Fu Yansheng: "...Buying these flowers won't cost much money."
Yan Sui stared wide-eyed. "Is this even human language?"
"Think of your intellectually disabled brother and your disabled nephew! Every penny you save is their lifeline!"
Fu Yansheng: "...Oh."
"But these are all discarded flowers."
Yan Sui said confidently, "Once they're in my hands, they won't be obsolete."
"Look at this rose, even though all its leaves have fallen, it's not dead yet."
"Wow, so many succulents, how can I bear to throw them away?"
“These chrysanthemums are wonderful. You can pick them from my yard when you visit your ancestors’ graves.”
Fu Yansheng's face was expressionless, and what he said didn't sound like anything nice.
Yan Sui picked them up while using scissors to repair them.
After the repairs were completed, he was asked to move it onto the tricycle.
Then, another batch of garbage arrived.
This batch mostly consists of various kinds of orchids.
There were too many varieties, and Yan Sui was too lazy to sort them, so she just took them all at once.
After collecting a whole truckload of discarded flowers, Yan Sui drove her little tricycle home.
She had placed all her belongings outside her courtyard house and planned to tidy up the flowers and plants today.
With Sui Sui around, planting these flowers and plants is no problem at all.
Turning the soil over is a bit of a hassle.
Yan Sui continued to enslave Fu Yansheng without any psychological burden.
"Anyway, you've already learned how to use a hoe. It's a new skill. Wouldn't it be a waste to have a skill and not use it?" Yan Sui said earnestly, trying to persuade him.
Fu Yansheng ignored her and just kept working.
For the first time, I experienced what it means to be beholden to someone who pays your beck and call.
With his help, a corner of the huge yard has been divided into neatly divided vegetable plots.
"You must have OCD; even the vegetable plots have to be perfectly neat."
However, this method saves trouble; all she needs to do later is have people lay bricks in the middle as before.
Otherwise, when it rains, the yard becomes muddy and impossible to walk through.
After planting all the flowers and plants we brought back, the empty yard finally came to life.
But that's not enough; it only occupies a small corner of the yard.
Yan Sui clapped her hands. "Thank you for your help, Mr. Fu. Let's call it a day."
Fu Yansheng nodded slightly, put the hoe back in its place, and then turned to leave.
Yan Sui casually asked, "Do you want me to take you home?"
Fu Yansheng glanced at her tricycle and declined, saying, "Thank you, but no need."
Yan Sui pouted, indicating she didn't appreciate it.
She had no choice but to slowly drive her tricycle home, humming a little tune, her posture incredibly leisurely.
When she got home, Yan Sui took a shower and changed her clothes. Then she went upstairs, cut some cherry tomatoes and strawberries, and brought them to Fu Yansheng.
He knew he should refuse a gift because he had accepted it.
But Yan Sui shoved the things into his hands and said earnestly, "Think about your mentally challenged brother!"
Seeing that he no longer refused, Yan Sui left satisfied.
After a busy day, the happiest time is when I can snuggle in bed at night and play on my phone.
She then discovered that Jiang Yeling was trending on social media.
The incident started when she got into an argument with Yan Mo on set. In the chaos, Yan Mo was slapped, and the incident was filmed and posted online.
The fans of both sides immediately started arguing.
Yan Mo's fans criticized Jiang Yeling for being arrogant, saying that someone of her status shouldn't have such a big temper.
Jiang Yeling's fans immediately countered that Yan Mo was unprofessional, having privately altered the script after joining the production and deleting scenes of other characters for her own selfish reasons.
When it comes to being a diva, no one can compare to Yan Mo.
In reality, Yan Mo received more criticism.
Because even fans of the original novel joined in the criticism, accusing Yan Mo of disrespecting the original work.
Yan Sui immediately opened Jiang Yeling's WeChat and dialed the number.
Jiang Yeling answered quickly, her mood clearly downcast.
It's not because of the online controversies, but because the director couldn't go against the investors' wishes and had already decided to remove her scenes.
She feels a deep sense of powerlessness right now.
I've prepared for this role for so long, but it all came to naught because of Yan Mo's single sentence.
