Chapter 100 Packing My Things and Going Home with Mom
Guo Dazui took several buses and subways before finally finding his daughter's house.
Lin Ying bought the house after her marriage. Neither she nor her husband's family was well-off, so they couldn't offer much help and had to save up money to buy the house themselves.
After graduating from university, Lin Ying joined a startup company whose main business was providing cleaning and disposal services to various farms in Yanjiao.
Later, the company team began to try the research and development and manufacturing of organic fertilizers, and after nearly ten years of development, the scale and business continued to expand.
Through her own efforts, she became a veteran and key member of the company.
I delayed having children because of work.
It wasn't until she was in her early thirties that she put having children on the agenda.
Guo Dazui had just reached the door when he heard a child's heart-wrenching cries coming from inside the house.
Hearing the noise, the neighbor next door opened the door and came out.
Guo Dazui had previously come to take care of Lin Ying during her postpartum period and had a good relationship with the neighbors in the community.
"Auntie, you've finally come! Your granddaughter has been crying for so long, and no one answered when I knocked on the door. I was just about to call your son-in-law."
Guo Dazui's face turned pale, and he wondered if something had happened to Lin Ying.
She hurriedly rummaged through the keys to open the door, and saw the child lying on the small bed in the living room, crying so hard that his face had turned blue.
Guo Dazui first picked up the child and comforted him. After looking around and not seeing Lin Ying, he hurriedly went into the house to look for her.
Finally, they found Lin Ying asleep in bed.
But then she thought, even if she's sleeping, she can still hear the baby crying.
"Lin Ying! Lin Ying!"
Lin Ying seemed to have fainted, and didn't make the slightest sound.
Guo Dazui was startled and went up to pat her face.
"Lin Ying! Wake up, wake up!"
In her haste, she used too much force, slapping Lin Ying's face until it turned red.
Just as Guo Dazui took out his phone to call an ambulance, Lin Ying slowly opened her eyes.
"What are you doing?"
Guo Dazui was so angry that he slapped her, his eyes reddening.
You're going to scare your mother to death!
Lin Ying was still dazed, but after being slapped, she instantly woke up.
"Mom, what brings you here?"
She tried to sit up, but she was too weak and fell back down.
Guo Dazui first made milk for the baby and then coaxed her to sleep.
"What's wrong with you? The child is shouting so loudly, how can you not hear him?"
Hearing her questioning tone, Lin Ying looked dejected.
"I didn't mean to ignore her, I was just sleeping too soundly and really didn't hear her."
Guo Dazui raised his hand to slap her, but when his hand landed, he unconsciously softened his strength and gently rubbed her thin face.
"Who asked you that? Did you take your medication?"
If he didn't take any medicine, then he must have fainted because he wasn't feeling well.
No matter the reason, you have to go to the hospital.
Lin Ying lazily replied, "I ate."
How much did you eat?
"I don't remember, maybe seven or eight pieces. I haven't slept well in a long time, and I want to get a good night's sleep."
Guo Dazui felt as if his throat was stuffed with cotton, and his nose stung with discomfort.
"How come you've gotten so thin after only a short time? Didn't we say we were going to hire a nanny to take care of the kids?"
Lin Ying lowered her eyelids. "We hired him, but after only two days, my mother-in-law said it was a waste of money and that she would take care of him. So Liang Tao sent him away."
Guo Dazui was taken aback. "Then where is she?"
Lin Ying lay on the bed, covering her face with the blanket.
"He worked there for a few days, then left."
She feels tired even talking now. Her life is a mess, but when she talks about it, people just think she's being dramatic.
Guo Dazui remained silent for a while. She didn't know what had happened, but she felt that Lin Ying was acting very strangely.
She used to be full of vigor, walking with a confident stride and speaking with a strong voice.
It's just having a baby, how did it turn out like this?
"Let's go, pack our things."
Lin Ying threw back the covers. "What are you doing?"
"Pack your things and come home with Mom. There's a lot going on at home, and I can't come to take care of you. Anyway, you still have a few months of maternity leave left, so it's the same if you go back to the countryside to recuperate."
Guo Dazui put the sleeping child down and said, "Never mind, I'll clean up."
Lin Ying watched her busy figure for a long time, and couldn't help but feel her eyes well up with tears.
"Mom, don't you think I'm being dramatic?"
"What's with the fuss?"
Lin Ying gave a bitter smile, forcing open her pale lips.
"Having a child feels like the sky is falling."
Guo Dazui paused, not responding to her question, and instead asked, "How much would it cost to hire a postpartum nanny for a month?"
"Eight thousand."
"What is she responsible for?"
"Taking care of children."
Guo Dazui nodded. "So, you'll need to hire another nanny to cook and do housework, right?"
Lin Ying gave a faint "hmm," and said, "That's how it is."
Guo Dazui chuckled and turned to look at her.
"Taking care of children and doing housework requires two people to do, but it has fallen on you, a woman who just gave birth not long ago. It's normal for you to feel tired. What's so fussy about that?"
“If you make Liang Tao have an incision in his stomach, wouldn’t he need to rest for several months? How come if you have an incision in your stomach, you can take care of the child and work at the same time?”
Lin Ying pouted, like a child, and tears streamed down her face like broken beads.
She didn't want to complain, but she couldn't hold back her mother's concern.
“I didn’t want my mother-in-law to come and take care of me. Liang Tao doesn’t understand anything, but he said I was being fussy and even fired the postpartum nanny I hired without my consent.”
“She didn’t come to help at all. She took the money, but she didn’t take care of the child when she cried. She was out playing cards every day and didn’t come back until mealtime. She even hit my daughter.”
“Xiao Bao is still so young, and her thighs were all bruised from being pinched. I chased her away, and Liang Tao scolded me for being unfilial, we had a fight, and she never came home again. Mom, I'm so tired.”
Guo Dazui hugged her daughter with heartache; she knew something must have happened!
"Your parents aren't even dead yet, and you don't even tell me when you're being wronged? She dislikes that you gave birth to a daughter, so how could she possibly take good care of the child!"
When Lin Ying gave birth, her cervix wouldn't dilate, and she was in pain all night before she could have a vaginal delivery but ended up having a C-section.
Upon learning it was a girl, her mother-in-law's face immediately fell.
He also said, "It was all for nothing; it turned out to be a money-losing endeavor."
Even Liang Tao looked rather unhappy.
Guo Dazui didn't dare tell Lin Ying this, for fear that she would become depressed.
Lin Ying cried, "When I was doing IVF, I said I wanted a daughter, and Liang Tao already knew it was going to be a girl! If he wanted a son, why didn't he say so from the beginning?"
Guo Dazui asked in astonishment, "What test tube? Why would we need to do a test tube?"
Lin Ying turned her face away and gritted her teeth, saying, "I didn't tell you, but before I got pregnant with Xiao Bao, I had been pregnant with another baby, but I lost the pregnancy. Later, when I went to the hospital for a checkup, they found out that Liang Tao had low sperm count, so we could only do IVF."
Liang Tao was too proud to admit that he had a health problem, so he kept it a secret.
When we were doing IVF, he said the most nice things to us.
After the baby was born, he changed his attitude, abandoned her, complained that the baby was noisy, and started sleeping in a separate room from her.
After get off work, I'd rather go out with friends for drinks and watch a game than go home.
Recently, the idea of her quitting her job to stay home and take care of the children has even come up.
He also said that his younger brother wanted to buy a house and asked him to lend him the down payment.
All of these things made Lin Ying feel suffocated.
