Chapter 77 Let's just kick her out.

Chapter 77 Let's just kick her out.

Seeing their nonchalant attitude, Aunt Ruan was furious.

I've completely forgotten what I said and did.

"Have you no shame? You were the ones who said you weren't selling first, so why are you pretending to be confused now!"

Seeing that she was red-faced with anger, Yan Sui patted the back of her hand to comfort her.

"What Aunt Ruan said is exactly what I wanted to say too. Let's forget about the contract."

Guo Lan and Gao Wen both froze, exchanging bewildered glances, unsure of what to do.

Gao Wen harbored resentment towards his own mother, blaming her for siding with outsiders rather than speaking up for him.

"Yan Sui, we're all from the same village, there's no need to hold a grudge like this, right? Who doesn't want to get rich and make more money?"

Guo Lan quickly chimed in, "We're not asking for an exorbitant amount; we just need two jobs. You're hiring anyway."

Yan Sui kept working with her hands, ignoring their words.

Gao Wen and Guo Lan talked about it for a long time, but Yan Sui didn't react, so they gradually became embarrassed.

Guo Lan clenched her hands tightly and stammered, "At worst, I'll quit my job, is that alright?"

Yan Sui put down her work, smiled, and looked up.

“My sister-in-law probably didn’t understand what I was saying. The contract has already been signed and the lotus pond has been cleaned up. We don’t need any more land right now.”

They've submitted the plank road design drawings, and they plan to build a stone bridge over the empty space in the middle to serve as a viewing platform.

Yan Sui dislikes people who go back on their word and wants to eliminate any factors that could disrupt the plan.

Guo Lan then realized that Yan Sui was determined not to buy their property again.

"Mom, say something!"

Aunt Ruan said with a stern face, "I have nothing to say."

She only feels ashamed now.

Guo Lan said anxiously, "Our family owns so many places, worth hundreds of thousands of yuan. Are we just going to give up all that money like this?"

Aunt Ruan gave a cold laugh, "Weren't you the ones stopping me from signing the contract? The land isn't mine, so the money from the sale isn't mine either. Since it's not mine, what does it have to do with me?"

All this land and all this money belong to the Gao family.

She now sees it clearly: after decades of hard work, she's just an outsider in the end.

She doesn't care about the Gao family's affairs; she only cares about her own.

Gao Wen felt a burning sensation on his face from Aunt Ruan's words and immediately pulled Guo Lan away.

"Walk!"

"Hey, what are you doing? The contract hasn't been signed yet!"

"Why sign? It's like offering a warm face to a cold backside. You may not care about your reputation, but I do!"

As the couple walked, they couldn't help but start blaming each other.

"If you hadn't spoken too harshly and offended Yan Sui, you wouldn't be in this situation where you haven't gotten a single penny."

Gao Wen angrily retorted, "It's clearly your greed that caused this! Not only did you ask for money, but you also asked for a job, which is why you offended Yan Sui!"

After arguing back and forth, they began to resent Zhao Chunrong.

If Zhao Chunrong hadn't informed on them and stirred up trouble, they wouldn't have approached Yan Sui in such a muddled way.

If it weren't for her, Aunt Ruan would have already signed the contract.

Gao Wen thought to himself, "That's his own mother. In the end, the money still ended up in their pockets."

Thinking of this, Gao Wen and his wife couldn't sit still any longer and hurriedly went to find Zhao Chunrong to settle accounts.

At that moment, Zhao Chunrong was on the phone complaining to Yan Zhendong.

After she dialed her fifteenth call, Yan Zhendong finally answered impatiently.

But before she could complain, Gao Wen and Guo Lan stormed in, grabbing her and demanding compensation.

"If it weren't for your instigation, my land would have been sold long ago! Now you've caused us to lose hundreds of thousands of yuan, tell me what you're going to do about it!"

Hearing the chaotic noise on the other end of the phone, Yan Zhendong's anger flared up.

His mother's ability to cause trouble is only getting better and better.

Fortunately, she doesn't live in the city.

"I'm hanging up now. Don't call me too often in the future. With your brother's family around, you're not going to starve to death."

Before Zhao Chunrong could speak, the phone went dead.

She didn't say a word about Peng Xiufang.

Zhao Chunrong was furious and flung Guo Lan's hand away.

"What nonsense are you talking about! What does it have to do with me if Yan Sui doesn't buy your property!"

Guo Lan argued unreasonably: "If you hadn't stirred us up, my mother-in-law would have already signed the contract! I don't care, you have to find a way to help us, otherwise you have to compensate us for this money!"

That's hundreds of thousands!

The duck that was almost in their grasp flew away, and Guo Lan felt as if her heart was being torn apart just thinking about it.

Zhao Chunrong's face was dark and gloomy. He forcefully pushed her hand away, his clothes were all crumpled from her grip.

"That's easy. Your mother works in Yan Sui's orchard. Yan Sui relies on her, so her words definitely carry more weight than yours."

Yan Sui had to give Aunt Ruan face, so she still had to obediently buy the land.

Gao Wen scoffed, "My mother doesn't listen to us at all."

It all comes down to Yan Sui.

Ever since his mother got a job, she's become arrogant and doesn't care about her family anymore.

“Your dad is the head of the family, why shouldn’t your mom listen to him? If your dad can’t even talk to your mom, then he’s too weak! What’s the point of having a wife who doesn’t listen to her man? Just kick her out!” Zhao Chunrong shouted.

Gao Wen frowned. "What nonsense are you talking about? That's my mother!"

Zhao Chunrong snorted, her face showing disdain.

"Then it's up to you."

Although Zhao Chunrong's suggestion was terrible, Gao Wen and his wife took it to heart.

"We have to start this from your mother."

Gao Wen looked displeased. "Let me think about it some more."

Guo Lan clicked her tongue, "What are you still thinking about! It's hundreds of thousands of yuan, and you don't even want the money!"

On the other side, Yan Sui was also talking about this with Aunt Ruan.

"Wouldn't you be upset if I didn't take over your land?"

Aunt Ruan smiled nonchalantly, "This money is like a pie falling from the sky. If you get it, it's luck; if you don't, just take it easy."

She's easygoing; after all, the money won't end up in her pocket anyway.

"My main concern is that Gao Wen and his wife will be unwilling to accept this."

Thinking of them, Aunt Ruan's expression turned much colder.

"Don't worry about what they say or do."

"I don't want to get involved, but I'm afraid it will put you in a difficult position."

Putting the land issue aside, Aunt Ruan did everything she could for her, arranging everything perfectly.

Yan Sui didn't want to lose this capable assistant.

Aunt Ruan shook her head with a smile, but a bitter look flashed in her eyes.

She understood her son better than Yan Sui, and knew exactly what kind of people they were.

Sure enough, when she finished her work and came home, the whole family was waiting for her.

Before they could speak, Aunt Ruan cut them off: "If you want me to persuade Yan Sui, then you don't need to say anything."

Her attitude immediately enraged Lao Gao.

He raised his hand and slammed it heavily on the table, making a loud bang.

Guo Lan and Gao Wen were so frightened that they fell silent, not daring to utter a sound.

Aunt Ruan, however, remained calm and did not take his anger seriously.

"Are you going to eat at home? I didn't buy any groceries, so you'll have to go out and grab something to eat."

Old Gao said with a stern face, "I'm talking to you, what are you eating!"

He bossed Aunt Ruan around, "Go and tell Yan Sui to sign the contract now, and we'll go back to the city immediately."

Aunt Ruan ignored him and went into the kitchen with her things.

Her action enraged Lao Gao. "You stop right there!"

Aunt Ruan stopped in her tracks and said helplessly, "I'm not going. If you want to go, you can go by yourselves."

"If you don't go, get out of this house!" Old Gao roared.

Aunt Ruan suddenly turned her head, her sharp eyes fixed on him.

"Get out? You live in the city, I live in the countryside. We don't even live together. Where do you want me to go?"

Old Gao's breathing became a little shallow, and he tried to raise his voice to cover up his guilty conscience: "This house belongs to the Gao family, it's mine, it has nothing to do with you!"

Aunt Ruan stared at him blankly, feeling as if a hole had been torn in her heart, and her bones were cold.

She chuckled softly, "We've been married for decades. Every penny and every item in this house belongs to me! If you want a divorce, we can go get it right now! But none of you have the right to kick me out of here!"
