Chapter 108 External Conflict Drives Uproar

After staying in the hotel for three consecutive days, Jiang Mian felt that her limbs were almost atrophied from lying down.

Every morning when she opens her eyes, the first thing she does is to quickly call for the system, but this damn thing is really like a dead thing!

She gradually grew disappointed as she waited.

Looking at the ceiling above, Jiang Mian knew for the first time what it felt like to want to cry but have no tears.

If anyone still cares about her now...

Besides Liu Yitang, there should only be the hotel receptionist.

Just as she was getting into those thoughts, the landline on the bedside table rang.

Jiang Mian stared at the ceiling, too lazy to focus her gaze, and directly reached out her hand in the direction of the sound.

After the call connected, the same question came through: "Hello Ms. Liu, do you need to continue paying for your current room?"

"Well, I'm not available right now. My friend will come over to pay later."

After hearing the warm wishes from the receptionist, Jiang Mian numbly hung up the phone.

"Ha," she sneered, "Wishing you a pleasant life? I'm anything but!"

Jiang Mian roared and thrashed out of bed, but the low blood sugar caused by skipping breakfast made her dizzy.

A wave of dizziness washed over her, and she collapsed back onto the bed.

She seemed to get angry for a moment, just for a moment...

After changing her clothes, she went downstairs to the front desk and, under the guise of being Liu Yitang's friend, renewed her room reservation.

Watching hundreds of dollars disappear from her phone balance over several days in a row, Jiang Mian, this miser, felt her heart ache terribly.

Although she received generous rewards from Young Master He back then, she had long since developed this frugal nature after saving for almost 20 years.

If we can't cut costs, then we have to increase revenue!

I don't know if there are any part-time jobs around here, preferably paid daily.

Of course, she didn't forget to curse the system a hundred or eighty times in her mind.

This piece of junk has really ruined her life!

Now she has friends she can't contact, schools she can't go back to, and parents... she doesn't know how to tell them.

I wandered around the streets for a while, and apart from my legs breaking from walking so fast, I didn't get anything else.

Jiang Mian was so hungry that she felt dizzy and lightheaded, so she simply bought something to eat at a Shaxian snack shop by the roadside.

Because she was so hungry, she bought a serving of steamed dumplings, a rice bowl, a bowl of black chicken soup, and even finished the last bowl of noodles with soybean paste she ordered.

I was comfortably leaning back in my chair, enjoying the leisurely feeling after a good meal, but there were always annoying flies around me, disgusting not only myself but also others.

Seeing that she was eating a lot, the two men at the next table exchanged a glance, their eyes full of mockery.

"Luckily, I don't have a girlfriend or wife. If I had a partner who could eat this much in one meal, I probably would have been eaten out of my mind long ago."

Another person deliberately chimed in, "Keep your voice down, or someone might hear you."

"I'm not the kind of person who talks badly about others behind their backs; I'm just telling the truth."

After saying that, the two burst into laughter.

If it were another girl, she might blush and run away at this moment, or she might stand up and launch a barrage of attacks on their ancestors for eighteen generations.

Jiang Mian had been holding back a lot of anger because of her failed transformation, but this idiot just had to walk right into the line of fire.

Since she really can't hold it in any longer, then sorry, she's going to go all out!

The two men over there didn't seem to care at all about the hurtful words he had casually uttered.

They're clearly overweight and greasy themselves, and they ordered a lot of food, yet they have the nerve to criticize others?

Jiang Mian stood up abruptly. One of the men, seeing this, joked, "Oh no, oh no, if someone hears this, they might come and yell at you."

"With her figure, she's both good-looking and capable, isn't she a perfect catch?"

The two blurted out suggestive jokes, completely disregarding the fact that they were in a public place, and laughed heartily.

"Life is so boring, the toad comments on humanity."

Jiang Mian wiped her mouth with a tissue while speaking in a calm tone, but making sure they could both hear her: "I've always seen people criticize animals, but this is the first time I've heard an animal speak, and all it does is spew filth. This world is really strange."

Who are you calling an animal?

Their faces immediately darkened.

"I'll yell at anyone who answers me," Jiang Mian said, feigning surprise. "I'm just talking nonsense, old man, why are you angry?"

"Who the hell is this old man? I'm only 30! I'm not even old enough to be your father!"

Seeing his wide, round eyes, Jiang Mian sneered inwardly. He's already broken down at such a short time.

"You can't even afford a meal? You don't look like an old man. Old men have retirement pensions and welfare benefits."

Jiang Mian covered her mouth and chuckled: "Being my dad is out of the question. My dad can afford to get married and support his wife and kids."

This was a veiled insult implying he was poor, and the man instantly flew into a rage: "You!"

"What do you mean, 'you'!" Jiang Mian's voice was even louder than his, and she said irritably, "Where did this loser come from? Didn't your mother teach you not to interrupt when others are speaking?"

Jiang Mian's mouth was like a laser cannon, piercing straight to the heart and lungs with one sentence after another: "A big, burly man, yet your mouth is like a gossipy old woman. At 30 years old, you've accomplished nothing, you don't even have a wife, and you dare to admit you can't afford to support her? How pathetic must you be? I bet no one has ever joked with you like 'V me for 50, let's see your strength' in all these years, right? Well, that makes sense, you even worry about your partner eating too much at a meal, then you're really something else. I bet the biggest contribution you can make in your life is to remain a bachelor forever and not have to bother other girls!"
