Chapter 73 I'm Leaving

After her abrupt and unrelated conversation with He Yubai, Jiang Mian could clearly feel that the atmosphere in the dormitory had become much more somber.

They were all naturally quiet people, except for Feng Jun, who would sometimes become very talkative when playing video games.

But things have become much quieter during this period.

The main problem is that this guy is incredibly sarcastic and always brings up the most sensitive topics.

Seeing that the atmosphere in the dormitory was already strange enough, I still couldn't control my mouth and had to speak up.

Not only did he have to speak, but he also had to be so incisive, hitting He Yubai's sore spots directly.

At that time, Feng Jun couldn't stand the eerily quiet atmosphere in the dormitory, so he said the following: "Little sheep, did Young Master He fail to win over your cousin?"

Because he was unaware of what had happened, his eyes remained remarkably clear and naive when he asked the question.

Good heavens, this matter is almost a taboo subject for He Yubai, and this idiot still insists on breaking it.

Jiang Mian really didn't want to answer the question, so she silently put on her headphones and pretended not to hear anything.

His answer was that although Feng Jun was happy, he had slapped He Yubai in the face.

If he answers no or doesn't know, given how brainless this guy is, he'll definitely keep pressing him, and then He Yubai will probably explode.

Escaping may be shameful, but it can be useful.

Unable to get a reply from Jiang Mian, Feng Jun couldn't contain his curiosity and wanted to continue asking questions.

He Yubai on the other side suddenly turned his head and looked at him with a cold expression, his eyes were frighteningly cold.

For some reason, Feng Jun felt a chill run down his spine when He Yubai stared at him.

Good heavens!

It seems he's discovered a secret he shouldn't know!

Oh no!

If Chen Yu ever takes a dislike for me and tries to kill me, Young Master He will definitely be an accomplice!

This frightened Feng Jun so much that he behaved himself for several days.

Time passed day by day, and Liu Yitang never appeared again, and Zhou Ziyu seemed to have disappeared as well.

Only he and He Yubai remained in close proximity, as they were roommates.

In the midst of her uneventful days, Jiang Mian even hoped that "Jiang Wan" was just a dream she was having.

But the message from Lin Xiangnan brought him back to reality.

In the message, Lin Xiangnan succinctly explained the reason.

As for how he knew his number, it was because the police officer was making a record, and he took note of it.

It seems they've caught Luo Biao and his accomplices; the police station called and asked him to come and identify them.

Zhang Qian had to go to work and didn't have time. He didn't have any other friends around, and he was too scared to go alone, so he thought of Jiang Mian.

Since she had no classes today, Jiang Mian found a place to transform herself before calling back: "Hello, Lin Xiangnan."

The voice on the other end sounded uncertain: "Jiang Wan, is that you?"

“It’s me, not my mom.”

A lighthearted joke eased the other person's anxiety.

"Sister Jiang Wan, I'm so sorry, I know this has been a lot of trouble for you..."

Where should we meet?

As she had said before, there is no such thing as complete empathy in this world, so she couldn't understand Lin Xiangnan's humble and timid nature.

Barren land can produce two kinds of flowers: one that grows strong and beautiful, and the other that withers halfway through and is crushed into mud.

But she couldn't expect Lin Xiangnan, who had experienced suffering, to live like the first flower.

Jiang Mian still couldn't quite handle the other party's guilty tone. Fortunately, Lin Xiangnan didn't continue, but instead told her the meeting place: right in front of the police station.

Half an hour later, the two met up at the entrance of the police station.

It had been a few days since I last saw Lin Xiangnan, and she hadn't changed much. From a distance, she looked just like the well-behaved little sister next door.

The other person complimented Jiang Mian: "Sister Jiang Wan, you seem to have become even more beautiful."

"You have such a sweet tongue."

Jiang Mian smiled and made a few jokes with him.

She was thinking to herself that although many people were praising her for being pretty or beautiful, she didn't feel anything.

She's probably become immune to nice things because she's heard them so much.

Lin Xiangnan was unaware of what Jiang Mian was thinking; he simply thought that statement was absolutely right.

Love is like growing flowers; that brother surnamed Zhou must love Sister Jiang Wan very, very much.

Because of the nourishment of love, Sister Jiang Wan has become more and more beautiful.

I was inexplicably paired up with a man, but thankfully Jiang Mian's broken system didn't have the ability to read minds, otherwise I really wouldn't know how to explain it.

If she really had to explain, she would probably just say that it was a kind of beauty that showed her disregard for the lives of others after rejecting He Yubai.

After exchanging a few pleasantries, they went into the police station together.

Lin Xiangnan's appearance was striking. As soon as he appeared, the police officer in charge of the case immediately came over: "Lin Xiangnan, right?"

Lin Xiangnan nodded upon hearing this.

"Come with me," the officer explained as they walked. "Luo Biao is quite cooperative. After several interrogations, he finally opened up. Based on the clues he provided, we arrested the other accomplices. Take a look and see if you recognize them?"

Faced with the other party's overwhelming aura, Lin Xiangnan simply nodded obediently.

Jiang Mian thought to herself, "How can I not cooperate?"

The mother and son came in together. If he continues to be stubborn, it won't be long before he and his mother are singing "Tears of Iron Gates, Iron Windows, Iron Bars" to each other through that small window in the prison cell!

Through the one-way mirror, four men stood in the opposite room. Because they couldn't see what was happening on this side of the mirror, they all had indifferent expressions.
