Chang Lili hid behind Meng Yuxiu in fear, "Husband, the crazy woman is here again, please take me away quickly."
Meng Yuxiu looked at Xiao Shuer with a cold glint in his eyes. He picked up Chang Lili, mounted his horse, and rode away.
"Meng Yuxiu, you stop right there!" Xiao Shu'er shouted at his back.
There was no response, and the two figures quickly disappeared around the street corner. Xiao Shuer had not only failed to deal with Chang Lili today, but had also lost face in public. She was both anxious and angry, her chest heaving violently.
"Your Highness, let's go back to the palace first," a palace maid suggested timidly, noticing the stares of the people outside.
"Slap—" Xiao Shu'er slapped her across the face. "Get out."
The sharp fingernails left long marks on the palace maid's face. She covered her face and dared not say a word.
Meanwhile, Chang Lili was led away by Meng Yuxiu. She sat sideways on the horse, with the man holding her in his arms. Watching the scenery rushing past, she exclaimed excitedly. She never expected that sitting on a horse would feel so good.
Meng Yuxiu, annoyed by her nagging, suddenly tightened the reins after leaving the city. His warhorse reared up in pain, and Chang Lili was so frightened that she quickly hugged Meng Yuxiu tightly.
"If you keep making noise, I'll throw you down there," he said calmly.
Upon hearing this, Chang Lili tightened her grip on Meng Yuxiu, shaking her head repeatedly to assure him, "I'll shut up, I'll be good, husband, please don't throw me down."

The woman's fragrance lingered in his nostrils. Meng Yuxiu took a deep breath, grabbed her hands abruptly, and gritted his teeth, saying, "Sit still and don't move."
Chang Lili nodded blankly and didn't move again. Meng Yuxiu whipped his horse and urged it to head towards the military camp.
They sped along and arrived at the military camp in the blink of an eye. Meng Yuxiu flipped his chin and casually tossed Chang Lili to the soldier beside him, saying, "Take her to my tent."
Then you walk in the opposite direction.
Chang Lili was new to the military camp and everything was new to her. She looked around curiously with wide eyes. After entering the tent, a military doctor came over.
“Young lady, the general instructed me to apply the medicine for you,” he said gently.
Upon hearing this, Chang Lili smiled and extended her hand, "Thank you for your help."
The military doctor was an elderly doctor in his sixties. Seeing the girl's bright smile, he felt a sense of goodwill towards her. While treating her wounds, he couldn't help but say, "The person who did this is too ruthless. They hit her so hard."
Chang Lili nodded in agreement, "Yes, that woman is too wicked."
The medic didn't inquire who had done it. Having served in the military for so many years, he knew what to say and what not to say. After bandaging Chang Lili's wound, he handed her a bottle of medicine. "Apply this ointment twice a day, morning and night. It won't leave a scar once the wound heals."
Chang Lili accepted it, "Thank you, Grandpa."
The military doctor smiled, picked up his medicine box, and left.
Chang Lili sat in the tent for a while, then got up and went outside. She grabbed a passing soldier and asked, "Do you know where the general is?"
Women were rarely seen in the military camp, and the soldier blushed before he could even speak when suddenly confronted by such a beautiful young woman. "Which general are you looking for, young lady?"
Chang Lili said, "General Meng Yuxiu."
The soldier suddenly realized what was happening and eagerly led her to Meng Yuxiu's tent. However, the soldiers guarding the door wouldn't let her in, saying that the general was discussing important matters inside and that entry and exit were prohibited.
Chang Lili had no choice but to wait outside. She waited for a long time, but the game inside didn't end. Seeing that the two guards weren't paying attention to her, she quietly went around to the back of the tent and put her ear to it.

"What are you doing here?" he asked, frowning.
Chang Lili chuckled awkwardly, "I wanted to come find you, but they said you were discussing important matters and wouldn't let me in, so I thought I'd wait outside."
Someone following Meng Yuxiu out asked, "General, should we take action?"
Chang Lili sensed danger and quickly grabbed Meng Yuxiu's sleeve, "I didn't hear anything, really, I just got here not long ago."
Meng Yuxiu remained silent, staring blankly at Chang Lili. The latter, feeling frightened, timidly said, "I really didn't hear anything. I swear to God."
After a short while, Meng Yuxiu finally spoke, "Send her back to my tent and have someone keep an eye on her."
Chang Lili breathed a sigh of relief, feeling as if she had escaped death. She didn't dare to say anything more and quickly got up to follow him back to the camp.
Meng Yuxiu took her home after finishing his work in the evening.
After finishing her dinner in her room, Chang Lili's mind was still replaying the words she had heard that day. It turned out that the reason Meng Yuxiu went to the brothel was because he had been secretly murdered by the Hu people.
Previously, she would pester Meng Yuxiu to take charge, mainly for her own future, and also because she admired him a little, which is why Chang Lili shamelessly clung to him.
