Chapter Thirty-Five: Falling into His Own Trap

At first, she thought that Chang Lili had brought reinforcements, and she thought to herself that she was not brave enough to actually leave herself in the woods. But when she heard what these people were saying, she felt that something was wrong.

Before he could even feel happy, the burlap sack on his head was roughly ripped off as the ropes binding him loosened.

Several unfamiliar male faces appeared before them. These men were indescribably ugly, each one a deformed and twisted figure. What's worse, they all had lewd expressions, rubbing their hands and licking their lips, making one feel not only nauseous but also horrified.

Xiao Shuer turned her face away, unable to bear it any longer. She immediately knew who these people were. Based on what they had just said, these people must have been hired by her cousin Hu Pin. They were originally lying in ambush in the alley, waiting for Chang Lili to walk into the lion's den.

But how come they're here now?

Before she could speak, a man reached out and pinched her cheek hard without any politeness: "We're really lucky this time, look how pretty this girl is!"

As he spoke, his saliva almost dripped down his throat.

Xiao Shu'er was stunned for a moment, realizing that these people probably mistook her for Chang Lili. She felt as if her face was about to rot. She roared frantically, "Are you all crazy? Open your blind eyes and see who I am! I am the Princess! How dare you treat me like this!"

Those people were shocked and intimidated by Xiao Shu'er's imposing presence, and unconsciously stepped back a little.

Xiao Shu'er arrogantly tore off the ropes binding her, clapped her hands, and stood up.

But as soon as she got up, she was pushed to the ground again. Those ugly-looking men revealed their drooling faces and looked at each other.

"You still want to fool us? You're that maid named Chang Lili, and you even dare to impersonate a princess!" one person said, and the others echoed him.

Xiao Shu'er looked terrified and backed away, shouting loudly but in fear, "I am the Princess! Don't come any closer! If you dare touch a hair on my head, I will make you wish you were dead."

But those men, with their ugly faces and never having seen any beauty in their lives, were unwilling to let go of Xiao Shuer, a woman of such high status and beauty.

These people were originally sent by Hu Pin at Xiao Shu'er's request to defile Chang Lili and make her wish she were dead. Unexpectedly, they ended up coming to Xiao Shu'er by some twist of fate.

Xiao Shuer's eyes revealed fear and despair. Her usual smugness and arrogance vanished, leaving only a heart set on fleeing in a sorry state.

"Don't come any closer! Don't come any closer!" she cried out in terror, but to no avail.

The men swarmed around her, some grabbing her hands, others pressing her feet, leaving her, a frail woman, unable to move.

The remaining men rushed to tear at her clothes, pinch her cheeks, and begin to caress her body.

Her threats had turned into pleas, and tears streamed down her face. For the first time, she had lost the dignity and pride of being a princess. What was even more terrifying was that she was about to lose a woman, something precious.

"What are you doing? Get out of my way!" A voice pierced the air, like a divine warrior descending from the heavens, pulling Xiao Shu'er out of the abyss of despair.

Hu Pin rode up at breakneck speed. He took out his bow and arrows and shot several people. The rest of the people fled in terror.

Xiao Shuer stood up and ran towards Hu Pin, crying. She, who always looked so noble, was now extremely disheveled, her face streaked with tears.

Hu Pin reached out and gently embraced her, feeling a pang of tenderness.

The Emperor arrived hastily with his guards and, upon seeing the situation, asked, "Shu'er, what happened? Are you alright?"

Xiao Shu'er hadn't even had a moment to cry; her tears were still wet on her face. Her expression was contorted with rage as she gritted her teeth and said, "Don't let them get away! Bring those people back to me!"

Upon hearing this, the guards immediately gave chase, expecting to return soon with those people.

Xiao Shu'er hysterically said, "I want to execute all of these people by slow slicing! And Chang Lili, and that bitch! I want her dead, no, I don't want her dead, I want to turn her into a human stick, I want her to suffer a fate worse than death."

Upon hearing this, the emperor staggered back two steps and was supported by his guards.

He knew that Xiao Shu'er had always been willful and domineering, but he never expected that she had developed such a ruthless and intimidating personality.

"Shu'er, what did you say? Who taught you to say such wicked things? How dare you, a princess, say such things?" The Emperor frowned and said with disappointment.

To everyone's surprise, Xiao Shu'er sneered and said, "Why can't I say it? Not only will I say it, I will also do it. Your Majesty, you have no idea how they treat me!"

She turned around and angrily accused the emperor: "This is all Chang Lili's doing, it's all her conspiracy!"

At that moment, a dark figure flashed past them, moving so fast that no one noticed.

"Shut up!" The Emperor was also angry. He suddenly realized that he had been too lenient with Xiao Shu'er. He did not expect to spoil her like this. "As the eldest princess, you do not put benevolence and morality first, but instead speak viciously and spout nonsense here. Do you still have the demeanor of an eldest princess?"

Xiao Shu'er remained unmoved: "I did nothing wrong. It is only because I am the eldest princess that they treated me this way, and I deserve such punishment!"

"Enough!" the Emperor roared, startling Xiao Shu'er. In the past, the Emperor always indulged her in everything, and this was the first time he had lost his temper.

Xiao Shu'er realized she had lost her composure. Only now did she realize the trouble she had caused, and she timidly called out, "Brother Emperor..."

The Emperor closed his eyes, let out a long breath, and then said, suppressing his anger, "Alright, send the princess back to the palace and confine her to the palace for a month."

"What?" Xiao Shu'er couldn't believe her ears. The Emperor used to dote on her. No matter what mistakes she made, he would always forgive her and protect her. This was the first time he had punished her like this.

"No... Emperor brother, you can't punish me like this! You don't know how they treated me! They deserved to be executed by slow slicing, and Chang Lili deserved to be turned into a human stick! You have no idea how they treated me!" Xiao Shu'er cried like a resentful child.

The eldest princess has always been the emperor's darling, and even though the emperor has given the order, they dare not make any move.

"What are you all standing there for? Send the princess back to the palace!" the emperor said sternly.

Only then did the guards muster their courage to walk towards Xiao Shu'er and reach out to capture her.

"What are you doing? You're not allowed to touch me!" Xiao Shu'er was almost furious.

But they still listened to the emperor, so they had no choice but to bite the bullet and arrest her.

"Ah...don't touch me, it hurts...it hurts...let go!" Xiao Shu'er had been beaten and the pain in her body had not subsided. Now that the guards had stepped forward to restrain her, the pain had only intensified.
