Chapter 276 Xie Liangchen: A Slovenly Ghost? ? ?
"Young Master, where are you going?"
Chun Tao was washing millet in the main room. She had overheard most of their conversation and was already furious. When she saw Xie Liangchen about to leave, Chun Tao immediately stood up to block him and looked over nervously.
Xie Liangchen stopped and turned to Chun Tao, saying, "Do you still have the rock sugar I bought a while ago? Pack some up for me."
Chun Tao's heart was filled with alarm bells: "Young Master, what do you need rock candy for?"
Xie Liangchen frowned: "Where did all this talk come from? Hurry up."
Chun Tao reluctantly brought over the yellow rock sugar that she hadn't been able to bear to eat recently. The young master had only allowed her to eat one piece of that sugar the other day, and she didn't know what he was going to do with such a big bag of it.
Xie Liangchen didn't stand on ceremony; he took it directly from her hand, turned around, and went out.
Chun Tao hurriedly followed him out, and watched as Xie Liangchen headed towards Jiang Pangya's house.
She stomped her feet in anger and glared at Afu, who was kneeling beside her: "You heartless bastard! How did Jiang Pangya treat you back then? And you still let the young master marry her! What kind of heart do you have?"
Seeing that Xie Liangchen had disappeared, Afu plopped down on the floor: "What? You don't agree? Look at Jiang Pangya, she's living such a good life now. If she marries the young master, we'll all enjoy the good fortune."
"Bullshit! What nonsense are you spouting? Young Master would marry that ugly thing? She's not even worthy to carry his shoes."
Chuntao shouted immediately.
Afu, however, didn't take it to heart and immediately spread his hands, saying, "Are you just envious of her? Look at Jiang Pangya now, what's ugly about her?"
As she spoke, she glanced at Chun Tao and immediately said, "I'm not trying to criticize you, but you used to be the young master's head maid, and you were our face. You should at least take better care of yourself. Look at yourself now, you've become so slovenly!"
Seeing the cloth headband on Chun Tao's head and her dusty clothes, A Fu clicked his tongue in disgust.
Upon hearing this, Chun Tao immediately jumped up and down: "You're talking nonsense! How am I supposed to dress up these days? I work day and night, and whenever I have free time, I have to do embroidery to supplement the family income. And now you, you dog, are going to look down on me? You're just talking nonsense. Tomorrow you can do all these chores, and I promise I'll still look as beautiful as before."
Afu scoffed, "What are you saying? Didn't Jiang Pangya used to do the same thing? She wasn't this slovenly then. Young Master was pampered by her; she never made me do chores, she even did your chores."
"You bastard! How could you say such heartless things! Do you think I'm that kind of lowly slut?"
Chun Tao was so angry that she grabbed the celery stalks and started throwing them at A Fu.
"Grandma, Grandma, be gentle, be gentle!" Afu pleaded as he ran, "I'm sorry, I won't say it anymore, okay? When Jiang Pangya comes back, I will definitely still stand on your side."
Chun Tao beat him up, but then she burst into tears. Especially when she saw her rough hands and the soot on her sleeves that she couldn't wash off no matter how hard she tried, she was overcome with grief. Her eyes were red and she clenched her teeth fiercely: "You heartless bastard, now I understand. Serving people like you is truly a thankless task."
Unfortunately, she didn't know where she was going, and in the end, she went back to her house and cried bitterly.
Xie Liangchen arrived at Jiang Nuanzhi's door but hesitated, unsure how to enter, pacing back and forth at the entrance.
"ah!"
Suddenly hearing a childish voice, Xie Liangchen turned around and saw a little boy fall flat on his face. He was startled and immediately went forward to help the child up.
"How are you? Did you hurt yourself?"
Xie Liangchen carefully brushed the dust off the child's dirty clothes. Seeing the little girl's bright eyes filled with tears, he couldn't help but ask her this question.
When Baozhu suddenly saw such a handsome face, she was stunned for a moment, her big eyes fixed on his face.
"Hey, let go of my sister! What are you doing?"
The waiter rushed over from behind, and upon seeing Xie Liangchen, he protected Baozhu as if she were a chick.
Just now, Ah Nuan asked them to go and bring Grandma Wang over for dinner. Grandma Wang made a little windmill for her, and the little girl ran around with it. He couldn't keep up for a moment, and unexpectedly, she ran into bad guys. He immediately looked at Xie Liangchen with a wary expression.
Xie Liangchen sighed: "She fell down, and I just helped her up. How can you be so aggressive at such a young age?"
"Who wants your fake kindness?" Xiao Er pursed his lips and turned to check on his sister's injuries. "And you, why did you run away? I already said I was going to wait for my brother."
Xie Liangchen said helplessly, "Could you take a look and see if her knee is injured?"
"It's none of your business. Get out of my house right now." The waiter's fists were clenched tightly, clearly in a state of agitation.
Xie Liangchen frowned, wanting to say something, but then he caught a glimpse of Jiang Nuanzhi coming over from the courtyard. He subconsciously hid the candy in his hand behind his back.
"What's wrong?"
Jiang Nuanzhi was also very puzzled as to why Xie Liangchen would appear at her doorstep. Seeing Xiao Baozhu staring at him, her heart skipped a beat.
"Mother, I just fell down by accident." Little Baozhu peeked out from behind Xiao Er, secretly glanced at Xie Liangchen, and hesitated before saying, "It was this slovenly guy who helped me up."
Xie Liangchen: "???" Sloppy? Ghost.
Jiang Nuanzhi: "Ahem, thank you."
She glanced at Xie Liangchen, then at Xiao Er, and immediately pulled the two children inside.
"etc."
When Xie Liangchen saw her about to leave, he instinctively called out to her.
Jiang Nuanzhi turned around, frowning as she looked at him. She really didn't want Xie Liangchen and Baozhu to be in the same space. Baozhu was her daughter, and Xie Liangchen was the male protagonist of a romance novel she had read. Just seeing the two of them together made Jiang Nuanzhi feel uncomfortable.
"Fatty, I have a few words I want to say to you. Can I speak to you privately for a moment?"
Jiang Nuanzhi: "."
And this awful nickname, it's truly...
However, since it wasn't about finding Baozhu, he simply patted the waiter's head and said, "Waiter, take Baozhu back first."
The waiter, however, protected Jiang Nuanzhi again, shaking his head and refusing to leave: "Nuanzhi, he's not a good person. I'll stay and protect you."
Xiao Er's eyes were fixed on Xie Liangchen. Anuan had previously rejected them because of this man. He would never let him take Anuan away. Moreover, he hadn't treated Anuan well; in the dead of winter, he'd made her wash his heavy quilts.
"Sweetie, take your little sister inside first and help me watch the fire. I'll be quick."
Jiang Nuanzhi comforted her.
The waiter bit his lip until it was bloodless: "But..."
"Trust me, okay?" Jiang Nuanzhi squatted down and said to the children.
Xiao Er finally pulled Xiao Baozhu into the courtyard. Xiao Baozhu kept looking back, her brows furrowed, and she didn't say a word.
