Chapter 14: Incident

Qi and Zhou's main attention was still on the Jin people in the north. There had been no war in Guandong for many years. In addition, there were many factions and they were in opposition to each other, so the military was inevitably relaxed. The Jin Kingdom was beaten so badly more than 20 years ago. After recuperating and flattering for so many years, it made a comeback. It was conceivable that they had no good intentions.

Three months later.

The wind blew away the broken flag, blood flowed and fire burst out.

The Jin army had retreated, and the war horses were struggling in the pile of corpses, making shrill cries.

Xu Shiqing cut its throat; a horse with a crippled leg couldn't survive on the battlefield. He shook off the blood from his sword, the blood from the horse and the human, mixed together, indistinguishable.

"Master Xu!" the soldier called out, "His Highness the Crown Prince requests your presence. He has something important to discuss!"

Xu Shiqing was stunned for a moment and said, "Then can we go back?"

"We can leave once officials from the capital arrive to take over." Xie Chongyue nodded, and said with a rare relaxed smile, "Kyoto must be bustling with activity right now."

Winning a battle is of course a good thing.

But the management and development of new land is more troublesome and makes people unhappy.

Fortunately, the professionals sent by the court were very fast, so Xie Chongyue didn't have to worry about this for too long. He put down the burden and happily returned to the court with Xu Shiqing.
