Chapter 14: Incident

Has the river been crossed?

Xu Shiqing didn't say anything, but he leaned over and kissed Xie Chongyue on the corner of his mouth - no words needed.

The relationship between people is like crossing a river. Xie Chongyue knows that not everyone can cross this river. Most people will spend their entire lives wandering on the shore, sighing in regret.

But now, he thought, he had crossed the river.

The people on the shore who thought about him day and night put a rope on his boat and pulled Xie Chongyue to his shore.

Then the wind and waves calmed down, the clouds disappeared and the rain stopped. He crossed the river and found a harbor. There was land to dock. This might last forever.

After the Mid-Autumn Festival, they took a short break in Bianjing. Xu Shiqing always wanted to make sure that his former fellow disciples were all well and that the disbanding of Jianmen would not have any negative impact on them before he could continue his journey with peace of mind.

Xie Chongyue was busy arranging the whereabouts of the members of the Demon Sect who followed them north, as well as many matters sent from the Prince of Qi's Mansion, including letters from the Princess of Qi.

After he replied twice, the princess sent three letters in a row for the third time, with the silver shop bill attached.

Xie Chongyue seemed to be able to feel the other person pulling his ears, and he was so disappointed in him that he wanted to teach him how to support his own wife.

...My mother's eagerness for Xu Shiqing was predictable. After all, Xie Chongyue's illness was her only concern. After he turned twenty, the princess was so excited that she wanted to take Xu Shiqing into the Prince Qi's mansion and reward him generously.

If the King of Qi had not stopped him, Xu Shiqing would have been invited into the palace and become Xie Chongyue's personal study companion.

"Zhengchun, Zhengchun!" Xu Shiqing came in excitedly, holding a lunch box, and shouted to Xie Chongyue, who was writing a letter at the desk, "Steamed buns and snacks from Yongchunlou in West Lane!"

They both agreed that the food at that restaurant was delicious.

"I also bought lunch, fish from Xianyuji!" The young man muttered as he opened the lunch box, "I went straight to their kitchen to check it out. This fish is freshly killed..."

He swallowed silently. He had been thinking about this taste since the fish was put into the pot.

Xie Chongyue picked up the chopsticks, tore off a piece of fish, and put it directly to the mouth of the useless glutton, his voice full of laughter: "Thank you for your hard work, eat it, the first bite should be the hero."

Xu Shiqing took the dish and leaned forward to eat the piece of meat in one bite. After chewing it, his expression brightened: "Delicious!"

"It's delicious, let's go out first." Xie Chongyue had no choice but to take the dish in his hand and walk to the table at the other end of the study: "After dinner, go visit Manager He and your junior brother."

Xu Shiqing said "oh", followed and sat down, picked up another pair of chopsticks and started eating.

Halfway through the meal, the person they were planning to visit showed up.

Liu Wu Yu watched helplessly as the great devil Xie Chongyue picked up a piece of fish and passed it to his senior brother's mouth. That would have been fine, but the problem was that his senior brother, a dignified sword immortal, opened his mouth and ate it with a natural expression and smooth movements.

Xie Chongyue just held the chopsticks that had touched his senior brother's mouth and continued to eat his rice calmly, without any discomfort on his face.

Liu Wu Yu: "..." He was shocked by the undisguised intimacy between the two.

"You've been packing your luggage and preparing to go to Kanto these two days, right?" He Wen Gu walked past him.

Xu Shiqing swallowed the rice silently, pretending that he had not eaten the piece of fish.

"Yes, what's wrong?"

"Your master has sent a letter," He Wengu said. "You must arrive at Shanhaiguan within two weeks at the latest. The King of Qi should have also sent a letter to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince with the details."

He took out a letter from his arms and handed it to Xu Shiqing.

"Xiao Yu and I are going to Juyong Pass, and Xiao Shan is guarding His Majesty in the capital."

Xu Shiqing's expression was slightly serious. This was a sign of something big to come. He nodded and said, "Okay, we'll leave as soon as possible."

"Well, without further ado, we're leaving tonight." He Wengu nodded and was about to leave when he added, "Remember to cover this face."

He obviously knew Xu Shiqing's background very well.

"I'll disguise him." Xie Chongyue took over.

He Wen Gu looked him up and down, and finally said, "Okay."

"Ah, this is the banknote Uncle He gave you for your travel expenses." Liu Wuyu put the things together on the table, and after enduring for a long time, he asked, "Brother, have you decided to be with this guy?"

He hinted worriedly, "I saw a wound on your neck last time. If anyone bullies you, be sure to tell me!"

His senior brother was such a shy person! How could he possibly show such a mark so openly? This demon must have coerced him!

Xu Shiqing, who was completely unaware of this, said: "...It's okay, no one bullied me. I'm young, don't worry so much."

The young boy, who was not even an adult yet, glared at the laughing Xie Chongyue, and finally left reluctantly, looking back every few steps, as He Wengu impatiently came back and called his name.

"You're still laughing!" Xu Shiqing's ears turned red. "How embarrassing! Now they all know!"

Xie Chongyue quickly suppressed his smile. His boyfriend was too shameless. He was really annoyed. He would have to sleep on the couch at the other end of the bedroom tonight.

"My dear, my dear." He said some private words in a sticky voice.

Xu Shiqing's ears became even redder, and seemed to be turning red all the way to his neck.

Xie Chongyue is very good at making use of his overly handsome face, especially in front of Xu Shiqing. He has never been reluctant to spend energy on any means that can increase the other party's favor.

"Xie Chongyue!" Xu Shiqing couldn't stand it anymore. He covered the ear closest to him and glared at him. He looked embarrassed and annoyed, and didn't even bother to shout a word.
