Chapter 7 Dream: Murderous Neighbor (1)

Generally speaking, the instincts of ghost cultivators are more brutal.

For example, Xie Jingyi has been chased in dreams of all sizes for eight years (?), and Zhao Xuan, the nominal captain of the Tiger Group next door, was tragically murdered after a breakup and is haunted by resentment, so she regularly refreshes her perversions in her dreams as soon as she falls asleep.

If it weren't for the fact that ghost cultivators are not suitable to have too much contact with living people (newbies) and trigger the locking skill, Zhao Xuan would have been pulled to the Women's Protection Association to be the president, or to the Ministry of Public Security to be a criminal indexer, contributing to China's social security.

As soon as Xu Shiqing opened his eyes, he felt that today's dream was strange.

He thought that when he opened his eyes, he would be confronted with Xie Jingyi's pale face. This guy had once put him in a coffin, and then he had a surprise face-to-face meeting with him.

Xu Shiqing exploded on the spot, turning his ice ability into an ice bomb. For several days afterwards, his face was dark when he faced Xie Jingyi, and it was not until they each completed a mission and returned that he felt better.

The timing of the contract between the two people was very strange. It happened quite often, and there were also many peaceful nights. In short, it was on the verge of collapse. Then, like a relay race, Xu Shiqing did not sleep well and gave Xie Jingyi a black face. Xie Jingyi was beaten up in his dream and scolded Xu Shiqing.

"...Where is this place?" Xu Shiqing slowly stood up from the ground, holding on to the wall. The pain in his abdomen almost made him stumble.

This time the dream was too real.

"021?" Xu Shiqing called out. As expected, the system was isolated outside. This situation was not unfamiliar to him. Eight years ago, when he first arrived in this world, the world consciousness did the same thing, calling it training.

He frowned, not impressed by the word.

The scene in this dream was a dark alley. Judging from the mottled marks on the walls, it was quite old.

And this body... Xu Shiqing tugged at his clothes, walked quickly to the street light, and then was dumbfounded to find that what he thought were shorts were actually a skirt... ?

No, it was a pair of shorts that looked like a skirt.

This set of clothes reminded Xu Shiqing of a bad experience. His face turned black. He lifted up his shirt and saw that his belly was a horrifying purple bruise. Not only was the skin on his abdomen covered with scars, but his arms were also covered with new and old overlapping purple stripes.

These are signs of beating and bullying.

Xu Shiqing narrowed his eyes and put down his hand. It was now late at night. If he remembered correctly, this body was a high school student preparing for the college entrance examination. He was beaten like this and dressed like a girl. It was too dangerous.

He should go back first.

Thinking of this, Xu Shiqing rubbed his arm nervously, secretly cursing Xie Jingyi for reading so much social news! He knew clearly that dreams would not be made blindly!

There was no one behind him, and the way back in his memory had not changed, which greatly reduced the time Xu Shiqing spent, just like a player who had completed a level and was coming back to review it.

But he did not let his guard down. There was no movement in several places where the enemy would have appeared. Xu Shiqing lowered his head and quickly walked through a tightly closed alley, with bundles of electric wires hanging above his head.

The background story of this body is a kidnapping and murder case that occurred in Y City five years ago. A seventeen-year-old girl disappeared mysteriously when she returned home from school, and reappeared in a suitcase under her neighbor's bed.

Xu Shiqing quickened his pace as he thought, cold sweat oozing out of his body. He didn't know when the sound of overlapping footsteps appeared behind him, which was heavier... and more terrifying.

The elevator had already closed, and he breathed a sigh of relief as if he had survived a disaster, but then he tensed up again after seeing who was inside.

Xie Jingyi, wearing a sweatshirt and looking like a good brother next door, looked at him with a smile, his eyes clearly calm and without any ripples.

Xu Shiqing felt his gaze moving upward, a chilling, unpleasant sensation. He could only pretend he hadn't noticed. After all, his current mission wasn't to quickly and easily escape the dream, but to awaken Xie Jingyi's consciousness through observation and, through this, to draw conclusions from the patterns within, forming a kind of experience, or perhaps a tacit understanding, between the two of them.

So now Xu Shiqing couldn't just kill the ghost version of Xie Jingyi and beat him away.

"...Brother, brother." This address made Xu Shiqing feel a chill in his heart: "What are you looking at?"

"Xiao Xu, were you bullied?" Xie Jingyi looked away from the 'girl's' disheveled collar and messy hair, and asked worriedly, "Why did you run so fast just now?"

To be honest, although this dream has a real prototype, the real murderer has not been determined, because Xu Shiqing did not decipher the secret at the time. He tortured Xie Jingyi with a crowbar and got the address, and then directly made Xie Jingyi's game over.

Fortunately, Xie Jingyi usually has no memory in this state.

Xu Shiqing replied: "I fell on the road..."

He lowered his head, not daring to let the embarrassment of his lying expression be discovered - mainly because if he looked at that face for one more moment, he would either burst out laughing or punch it to death.

The girl's answer was full of a hidden meaning. Xie Jingyi stared at her hair for a long time, then said nonchalantly, "Remember to bandage it when you get home."

"Thank you, thank you, brother." Xu Shiqing swallowed Xie Jingyi's words. Students of this age, especially those with the background of his body, would not call their elders by their full names. That was impolite.

He was once again filled with chills by this name and couldn't help shivering.

Xie Jingyi's eyes became strange, but Xu Shiqing didn't notice.

Fortunately, the elevator door opened.

Xu Shiqing followed Xie Jingyi and breathed a sigh of relief when he found no strangers around. "Then I'll go back."
