"What's wrong?" Ronnie lowered his head worriedly, trying to see the expression of the younger generation.
"Teacher, who is he?" Xu Shiqing already felt that something unexpected was coming, and that was something he might not want to see.
The Temple of Nature has never had much contact with humans, but it is connected to the people from the Imperial Capital Star that Ronnie mentioned not long ago, the restless forest, and Alger who appeared here.
Xu Shiqing had come to regard Bordeaux Forest, this planet, as his own responsibility. The God of Nature wished him to free it from the ravages of war, and in this interstellar world, war always involved humanity. Xu Shiqing was prepared to negotiate with humanity—but that didn't mean he could accept a friend becoming an enemy.
"That's Duke Lecter from the Imperial Star." Ronnie's gaze turned to calm contemplation. He looked at the confusion and uneasiness expressed by his only student and realized something: "Is it that?"
"Yeah, yeah." Xu Shiqing wore a mask of pain.
Ronnie: "..." Very good, not only do you want to do something bad to Na Chuxing, you also want to attack his students, right?
The antler elf's eyes were fierce for a second, but before being noticed by his student, who had yet to be exposed to the complexities of politics and power, he suppressed his anger and said calmly, "It's okay, I know about this."
He paused, touched the student's hair, which felt very nice, and said with some worry: "It's okay, I have human friends too. This is not something to feel guilty about. After all, you didn't tell them about your affairs, right?"
Xu Shiqing didn't say anything.
"But, Pani," Ronnie said, "humans are very cunning creatures. They will do anything to achieve their goals. Before they get what they want, they will give you everything they have, but once they get what they want, they will leave without mercy."
"They are heartless and mean, so don't trust them too much, understand?"
Xu Shiqing listened carefully, even though he was actually a human being and didn't quite understand.
"I understand." He nodded. "Then is there anything I can do?"
...Silly child, you don’t understand at all.
Ronnie's lips twitched, watching the silly sheep about to bump into him, he thought to himself, with your kind of mind, you still want to fool Alger Lecter, who was famous for his despicable, shameless, insidious and cunning behavior when he was a teenager?
It's simply sensational.
"...Teacher?" Xu Shiqing felt that the deer-horned elf's gaze was a little strange and he felt uncomfortable.
"You don't have to worry about these things for now." Ronnie's heart grew fonder, and his tone became much gentler: "Familyize yourself with the affairs of the temple. As for Alger, you can handle it yourself."
Since the former high priest said so, this is the only way to do it.
After returning home, Alger was puzzled and sent someone to investigate Pani's situation. However, Ronnie was prepared, and his people were easily stopped and turned back. After all, Alger was new to the country and didn't have many other means or connections.
Fortunately, not everything was in vain.
Alger lamented the irony of fate. If Pani were an ordinary elf, he would have many ways to get him. But since he was the new high priest of the Temple of Nature, the significance was different.
Although, by universal interstellar standards, the power of a planetary priest undoubtedly pales in comparison to that of a duke on the imperial capital planet, the secret of religion lies in its unparalleled appeal. Pani represents all believers in the God of Nature since the Temple's founding.
That's no small force.
"How's the situation?" The Crown Prince smiled on the other side. He didn't seem to feel guilty about giving his good friend a difficult situation.
"You've really caused me a lot of trouble." Alger breathed a sigh of relief. His sweetheart had become his opponent...what a situation.
"Well, whether we can take over the natural races without wasting a single soldier depends entirely on Admiral Alger." The Crown Prince was still in the mood to tease. It seemed that the situation on the Imperial Capital Star was under control.
"By the way," he asked, "I heard you were assassinated there? Did you find out who was behind it?"
"What about the Princess? It's already been resolved, there's no need to start a dispute." Alger shook his head. This matter was strange. Leonardo was making drastic changes in the Imperial Star. This was not the time to fall out with an ally, not to mention that it might not be her.
"Okay." The Crown Prince didn't dwell on this point any further, instead bringing up another matter: "How is your spiritual sea?"
"Almost done," Alger said briefly, brushing it off lightly. "I was lucky enough to make a friend... but he later left."
"Nachuo Star's communications infrastructure is terrible!" Alger complained, "I can't even add a contact number."
"It's hard to force such a master." Leonardo said with a hint of regret, "But what about love at first sight?"
"...Don't mention it." Alger's expression froze, and he muttered unnaturally, "It's the current high priest of the Temple of Nature."
"..." Leonardo kept smiling and slowly typed "?"
"...I didn't expect that!" Alger explained in a low voice, a little annoyed. "This guy looks stupid and silly. I thought he was just an ordinary elf. I thought the matter was resolved and asked the temple to help find him!"
"If I had known he was a candidate for high priest, I wouldn't have even entertained the idea!"
"That's not necessarily true," Leonardo chuckled. "Like is irrational. If you fall in love with someone at first sight, it either means you're a lecher or you're really screwed."
