Chapter 8 Transition

Alger looked at the comment (Silly Sheep) and replied, and laughed. It seemed that Silly Sheep wasn't that stupid after all.

"I love to eat lamb leg meat: Mmm! Thank you! Heart jpg."

Putting away the star network, he exhaled. Ever since his spiritual sea recovered and he returned to the Imperial Capital three years ago, Alger had participated in the division of power in the Military Department without hesitation. That had always been the Princess's strength. But Alger was surprised to find that his actions were not that difficult.

Until last year, this princess, once a champion of the military, announced she would lay down her arms and live in seclusion, seemingly unconcerned with worldly affairs. Alger went to see her. In the past, this would have been completely impossible, but the fact was that Alger Lecter did something he would never have done otherwise.

The eldest princess was just surprised and then smiled, like a flower in the mist, or like a blank piece of paper.

"...Long time no see." Alger said finally.

The eldest princess' expression remained unchanged: "Long time no see, Lecter."

They fell silent again. Alger had nothing to say to her. Although they had a close relationship when they were young and could be called good friends, Alger kept his distance from Leonardo, his cousin. The eldest princess was a little moody and deep-minded at that time, and no one could see what she was thinking.

"...Why?" Alger managed to utter this after a long pause.

The eldest princess sneered, not knowing whether she was laughing at Alger's bewildered look or at the dilapidated state of her own mansion.

"I'll give you a piece of advice." She turned and walked into the depths of the brilliantly lit area. Some attendants were waiting rudely not far away, and they all heard her words: "Although I have lost my position, I still have a way out. This is my good fortune, but your misfortune."

She smiled and uttered an ancient saying, as if completely unaware of Alger's sudden change in expression: "Those who consider the world should always plan for the difficult and ignore the easy; prepare for the formidable and ignore the unsuspected."

The servant bowed his head deeply as the god of war walked past him, bringing up a gust of wind.

The memories ended here. Alger sighed, thinking of Leonardo's increasingly unpredictable behavior. Often, he, his former comrade, couldn't even get a word in.

Could it be that the king was suspicious of him? Alger lowered his eyes, unwilling to think about it.

"...My sister has always been very clever." The emperor said to someone with a smile, "It's a pity that she is too close to those around her."

She was a woman in gorgeous clothes, her red lips flirting: "Your Majesty, that is all in the past."

"Unfortunately, I originally thought Alger and I were the same kind of people." He ignored her and continued to speak on his own: "My royal sister did remind me that it is indeed dangerous to have such a double-minded wolf around."

"The Duke is powerful and well-known, so I'm afraid it will be difficult to eliminate him." The woman leaned over gently, as if shy. "Your Majesty, do you have any plans?"

She lowered her head and wondered if she could use this opportunity to promote someone in her family.

Leonardo smiled and kissed her, as if he were embracing a precious treasure. "I will rely heavily on the Queen for this matter."

The eldest daughter of the Duolang family was a man who could adapt to the situation. If it weren't for her, he wouldn't have been able to defeat the emperor's sister so easily. Now was just the right time, as the Duolang family had many connections on Nachu Star.

What's her name?

The emperor didn't care, but seemed sincere, his eyes filled with deep affection. "Royal sister... you know, Alger is in this situation now. I really have no relatives now. If it weren't for you, I really don't know what I would do."

They were affectionate again, showing their deep love for each other.
