The Dragon's Treasure (4)

The Dragon's Treasure (4)

She took a few steps forward and hid behind a big tree to watch.

Several wolves were seen surrounding a puppy, seemingly intending to eat it.

Zhuge Jing, who always loved puppies, couldn't bear to see such a scene. So she drew two knives, rushed out, and fought with the wolves.

Although the wolf was fierce, Zhuge Jing was also very brave and did not give in. Even after being bitten several times, she did not show any fear, but instead became even more calm and composed.

She sensed that one of the wolves had a particularly bad temper, so she deliberately attacked that wolf more often, baring her teeth at it, which angered the wolf.

After getting angry, the old wolf's attacks became chaotic; it only wanted to pounce on Zhuge Jing and tear her to pieces, neglecting to cooperate with the other wolves in setting up a formation.

Zhuge Jing seized an opening and slashed the old wolf's belly with her knife.

The old wolf was wounded and had no choice but to flee.

Next, Zhuge Jing defeated them one by one, driving all the wolves away.

She didn't chase after it, but turned to look at the puppy.

The puppy happily ran towards Zhuge Jing and rubbed its head against her trouser leg, as if to thank her.

Seeing that the puppy also had injuries, Zhuge Jing took out a healing pill and gave it to the puppy.

After the puppy ate the food, its wounds healed completely, and it was full of energy. It found it incredible and happily ran around Zhuge Jing.

After a while, it grabbed Zhuge Jing's trouser leg, seemingly trying to take her somewhere else.

Zhuge Jing felt that perhaps the puppy needed her help. So, she followed the puppy.

After walking for an hour, the puppy led Zhuge Jing to a mountain wall.

Many vines grew on the mountain wall. The puppy used its paws to dig through one of the vines and saw a small hole behind it, with a black bowl inside.

The puppy brought out the black bowl and handed it to Zhuge Jing.

Zhuge Jing laughed and said, "Is this your rice bowl? You're going to give it to me? How will you eat from now on?"

The puppy shook its head, as if to say that this was not its meal.

Then, he picked up a stone and threw it into the black bowl.

The stone was originally covered in dust and dirt, but after being placed in the black bowl, it suddenly became very clean, and the dirt on it disappeared.

Zhuge Jing asked, "Does this black bowl have cleaning properties?"

The puppy nodded, then shook its head.

It tugged at Zhuge Jing's sleeve, making Zhuge Jing put her hand into the black bowl as well.

Zhuge Jing gave it a try.

Unexpectedly, the wound on her hand healed automatically as soon as she put it into the black bowl.

Zhuge Jing understood: "This black bowl has healing properties?"

The puppy blinked, seemingly anxious, as if it wanted to speak. Unfortunately, it couldn't speak human language.

Looking at its expression, Zhuge Jing felt that she might have guessed wrong, or rather, not accurately.

At this moment, Zhuge Jing suddenly noticed that the old watch she was wearing had become brand new.

She always wore a watch on her wrist. It was something she had bought before; it wasn't a prop, but she had worn it for several years and had grown attached to it, so she never took it off.

This watch was quite old, but suddenly it looks as new as the day I bought it.

Zhuge Jing suddenly understood the function of the black bowl.

She tried taking a hair tie out of her bag, put it in, and the hair tie looked new again.

She's had short hair for many years, but she always carries a hair tie in her bag so she can tie it up if it grows long. So, the hair tie is quite old.

Zhuge Jing said, "Is the function of this black bowl to turn everything old and broken into something new?"

The puppy nodded and barked happily twice.

Zhuge Jing understood. When she put her hand in, the wound disappeared, not because the black bowl could heal, but because the black bowl could turn everything back to its original form.

Her hands originally had no wounds, so naturally they could recover to their uninjured state.

Zhuge Jing was overjoyed. She had been searching for treasure, and wasn't this black bowl the treasure?

She remembered that in the dragon's lair, many jewels had become dull from being left there for so long.

With this black bowl, the jewels could regain their luster, which was also very useful to the dragon. Moreover, if the dragon was injured, it could put its claws into the black bowl and recover from its injury.

This should be a treasure that the dragons would like, so Zhuge Jing accepted the black bowl and thanked the little dog.

Professor Pan walked north, and the landscape became increasingly desolate. He eventually reached a cliff where the road ended.

There were several large rocks on the edge of the cliff. Professor Pan chose the largest rock and activated the "Storyteller" function.

Professor Pan listened for a while, frowned, and then walked back.

When Professor Pan returned to his original spot, everyone else had already returned, and each had made their own gains.

Jian Tanxi asked, "Professor Pan, did you find any treasure?"

Professor Pan said, "I just asked a big rock if there were any treasures around here. It said that on this mountain, you need to find a place that is entirely red. In the middle of the red area, there will be a box. Inside the box is a piece of cotton, which is a treasure called fireproof cotton. No matter what kind of fire starts on the mountain, as long as you throw the fireproof cotton down, the fire will be completely extinguished."

I asked, "Where is the part that's all red?" It said it didn't know either and I had to find it myself. I thought that would take a lot of work, so I came back first.

Jian Tanxi said, "I see. Let's show the dragon the treasures we found first. If the dragon is satisfied, that's great; if not, we'll go find the fireproof cotton."

Professor Pan nodded: "Yes, let's take out the treasures we found and have a look."

Jian Tanxi took out a bottle of spring water and a seven-colored leaf; Zhu Xiaofeng took out a fruit that looked like a peanut but weighed more than 80 kilograms; Qin Man took out a green dragon ornament; Zhuge Jing took out a black bowl.

Zhuge Jing said, "Zhu Xiaofeng, you can judge which item is the most valuable among a pile of items. Why don't you take a look and see which of these items is the most valuable?"

Zhu Xiaofeng nodded, put the items in a pile, and then activated his "Insightful Eyes" ability.

After a while, he said, "The seven-colored leaf that Jian Tanxi brought back is the most valuable, worth more than ten million. However, I don't know why it's so valuable."

Then, he put the seven-colored leaf aside and continued to use his "Insightful Eyes" ability on the remaining items.

Zhu Xiaofeng said, "Of the remaining items, the black bowl that Zhuge Jing brought back is worth 8.2 million."

Then, he put the black bowl aside and continued to use his supernatural abilities.

The final results were: the peanut-shaped fruit was worth 5 million; the dragon ornament was worth 4.4 million; and the bottle of spring water was the least valuable.

Since the spring water was the last item and couldn't be considered "a pile," Zhu Xiaofeng couldn't use his special ability to determine its value.

Zhuge Jing said, "The most expensive item among these things is only a little over ten million. I wonder if it will catch the eye of the dragon."

Qin Man said, "I think the value isn't the most important thing; what matters most is that it pleases the dragon. Perhaps it just wants some treasures it's never seen before."

So the group went into the dragon's lair and showed the dragon what they had found.

However, the dragon was not satisfied and instead roared angrily. Everyone felt a pain in their eardrums, as if they were about to go deaf.

Fortunately, the dragon only roared a few times and then stopped.

Jian Tanxi tried to unscrew the cap of the spring water bottle and let the dragon drink from it.

The dragon took two sips and seemed to enjoy it.

However, the referee did not appear and announced that the game was over.

Jian Tanxi shouted, "Referee! The dragon likes the spring water I brought, doesn't that count as passing the level?"

Referee Peter appeared: "No, that's not what the dragon wanted."

"What does that dragon want?"

"I don't know either, you guys keep looking."

Zhu Xiaofeng suddenly said, "I protest!"

The referee asked, "What are you protesting?"

Zhu Xiaofeng: "No matter what we find, will you always say it's not what the dragon wants? That way we'll never be able to complete the game."

The referee said, "Every game has a way to pass it. It's impossible not to pass it. Calm down. If you find what the dragon wants, the dragon will agree."

After saying that, the referee disappeared.

Zhu Xiaofeng frowned and said, "How do we know what the dragon wants? Aren't all these treasures enough for him?"

Jian Tanxi secretly winked at everyone, signaling them to put away the treasures they had found.

Since these treasures aren't needed by the dragon, the players can keep them for themselves; they might come in handy someday.

So, while the dragon was drinking from the mountain spring, everyone secretly put their treasures back inside.

Then, the group walked out of the cave.

Zhuge Jing said, "What do we do now? Should we continue searching for treasures everywhere?"

Jian Tanxi said, "Zhu Xiaofeng and I will fly up first and see if there are any areas on this mountain that are entirely red. If there are, we'll go find the fireproof cotton."

Zhu Xiaofeng nodded: "Then I'll be in charge of the west and north, and you'll be in charge of the east and south."

Jian Tanxi took off on the magic carpet, and Zhu Xiaofeng also took off using his "wingsuit flying" ability.

However, the two looked at the entire mountain many times but couldn't find any place that was entirely red.

About an hour later, they landed and explained the situation to their teammates.

Jian Tanxi asked, "Professor Pan, are you sure the area that's all red is on this mountain?"

Professor Pan said, "That should be correct; that's what the big rock said."

"Didn't the big rock provide any clues?"

"No."

Qin Man said, "Could the place that's all red be inside a cave? Or perhaps a section of the mountain wall has been carved open, and the inside is all red?"

Zhuge Jing: "If that's the case, the workload is too great. This mountain is so big, how are we supposed to know how many caves there are in total? If we're going to carve into the mountainside, that's even more impossible. Seven days is far from enough."

If we bet on fireproof cotton, the chances of success are very low. Even if we manage to find it, it might not be what the dragon wants.

Jian Tanxi said, "How about this, Professor Pan and I will go find fireproof cotton. The magic carpet can carry two people, and flying will save time. The rest of us can continue to split into several groups to find other treasures. We'll meet here every evening to share our day's findings. Perhaps we'll find the treasure the dragon wants tomorrow or the day after."

Everyone agreed to the plan.

As it was getting dark, everyone discussed where to rest for the night.
