Chapter 18 Sitting on the Tail: "Do you want to pinch my cheek?"

Chapter 18 Sitting on the Tail: "Do you want to pinch my cheek?"

Morax let his aura spread, just as he let his long black hair and dragon tail sway freely.

He looked down at Qiao Xi with a nonchalant expression.

But Qiao Xi's heart sank. The feeling of despair was no less than when she was caught reading a romance novel in class and made to read the novel aloud in front of the class.

Morax maintained this composed demeanor, his legs spread wide, with Qiao Xi's body almost wedged between his knees.

If she had moved even a little further forward, the scene would have become bizarre.

Qiao Xi looked at Morax, feeling embarrassed and guilty, but also feeling that the person in front of her was a complete stranger.

Qiao Xi: "You're awake?"

"Hmm." Morax nodded slightly, his fingers still resting on his temples, watching her slowly. "Are you offering New Year's greetings again?"

"Uh..." Qiao Xi never expected Morax to ask her that, and she was speechless.

"Um, I didn't mean to see you like this." As Qiao Xi said this, her gaze involuntarily shifted downwards. "I just wanted to see if you had time, but, your clothes are ripped."

Morax then noticed that the reason Qiao Xi was embarrassed was simply because she saw his collar had accidentally come undone, revealing a bit of skin.

Instead of exposing the dragon's horns and tail.

Morax frowned. What was this girl's focus on...?

"...It's alright."

He sat down quietly and closed his clothes.

As she performed these actions, the dragon tail under her clothes moved slightly. This was a conditioned reflex. The dragon tail was already close to Qiao Xi, and now it was almost touching Qiao Xi's thigh. If she moved forward slightly, she could wrap her with her tail.

Qiao Xi was a little nervous. When she was nervous, she had difficulty maintaining her balance. In addition, the squatting position was very strenuous, so she actually sat down backward.

A soft, warm sensation came through her winter clothes. Qiao Xi's mind went blank. She slowly looked down and realized that she was sitting on Morax's dragon tail.

The dragon's tail was also amber-colored, thick, long, and somewhat stiff, but overall soft. As for whether the dragon scales were cool, she couldn't feel it because she was wearing thick clothes.

Qiao Xi couldn't help but purse her lips, wondering if this was a bit too presumptuous.

She looked away from the dragon's tail and up at Morax.

Morax was shocked and somewhat surprised; this complex expression even showed a hint of emotion on his usually impassive face.

Qiao Xi had no idea what sitting on the other's tail meant. She looked at Morax and awkwardly tried to smooth things over: "Morax, I didn't know you had a tail. How cute, haha."

Qiao Xi maintained a smile on her face, but inwardly she wanted to slap herself. Was she crazy or stupid? How could she say such a thing?

Her last two laughs were extremely dry, and the word "cute" hit Morax like a stone in the face.

His expression darkened further, he frowned, looked at Qiao Xi, and said in a serious voice, "Get out of the way."

He was very serious, and compared to his usual seriousness, he seemed somewhat angry.

Qiao Xi didn't dare to be careless and quickly stood up.

Morax retracted his dragon tail, and after a golden light, his appearance returned to normal.

However, his collar was still loose, allowing Qiao Xi, who was standing, to see his collarbone through the neckline.

“Mo...Molux.” Qiao Xi’s voice was not loud.

"What?" Morax frowned at her.

"you……"

Qiao Xi gestured wildly with her collar.

"It's not neatly arranged, but... I can still see you, um..."

Morax paused for a moment, then sighed slightly, pinching his brow: "I understand."

But instead of straightening his collar as Qiao Xi had expected, he did not do so.

Qiao Xi pursed her lips, unsure of which direction to steer the conversation. It seemed that Morax had become somewhat unhappy ever since she sat on his tail.

Did she hurt Morax?

Qiao Xi recalled Li Shui saying that she had gained weight, and couldn't help but touch her own cheek. She was indeed a little chubby, which made her even more certain that she had hurt Morax by pressing on her.

So I carefully asked him, "Is your tail uncomfortable?"

Morax paused in his pinching of his brow, looked up at Qiao Xi, and a hint of doubt flashed in his eyes.

Qiao Xi continued to explain with her head down, feeling very embarrassed: "I know I've gained weight recently, and I'm a bit heavy. I didn't mean to sit on your tail. I'm really sorry if I pressed down on you."

She seemed genuinely sincere when she apologized.

Morax paused for a moment, then said, "It's alright."

He stood up, looked at Qiao Xi, and changed the subject: "What do you want with me?"

Qiao Xi kept her head down, not looking at Morax, and said, "We're having barbecue tonight, and I'm thinking of going to find some ingredients. I was just asking if you wanted to come along?"

This answer was somewhat unexpected for Morax, but it would be understandable if the other party was Qiao Xi.

but……

“Qiao Xi,” Morax looked down at her, “why have you been afraid to look at me? I don’t blame you.”

“Because…because,” Qiao Xi said slowly, “your collar is still not straightened.”

"..."

Morax buttoned up his collar with one hand, then looked down to check it. After confirming it was in place, he said to Qiao Xi, "Look up."

"Okay." Qiao Xi looked up, her face flushed, and smiled at Morax.

Morax looked at her and couldn't help but suppress a smile.

*

The two walked towards the exit on lotus leaves, Morax stepping on them as lightly and gracefully as a dragonfly skimming the water.

Qiao Xi was like a weight; when Morax looked in her direction, she would straighten her back, but as soon as Morax looked away, she would immediately relax.

Back and forth, until they reached the shore, Morax always thought Qiao Xi had been perfectly upright the whole way.

They truly never forget to study diligently, no matter the time; they genuinely love learning.

Qiao Xi stepped off the lotus leaf, and Morax stood on the shore with his hands behind his back, waiting for her.

Qiao Xi tidied her hair, tucking any stray strands behind her ear. She smiled at Morax and said, "I didn't want to bother you, but the seal was sealed from the inside, so I thought I'd come find you anyway."

Upon hearing this, Morax looked over and saw him raise his sleeve and wave it lightly, revealing an amber-colored seal at the entrance of the cave.

Morax lowered his eyes slightly, glanced at Qiao Xi, and then lowered his arm. In an instant, the seal vanished like shattered gold, leaving only the distant sound of the wind.

Qiao Xi laughed: "Morax, you're really amazing."

Morax glanced at her, a slight smile playing on his lips, and replied, "Thank you."

As the two of them walked out together, they ran into Yi Xiao and Li Shui. Qiao Xi stood beside Morax and bowed to the two masters, while Yi Xiao and Li Shui also greeted Morax.

Yi Xiao looked Qiao Xi up and down silently several times until he was sure that the girl was still carefree, and then he felt relieved.

He made up a random excuse and pulled Riyama away again.

On the way, Yi Xiao stroked his beard and said to Li Shui, "I've said it before, the Emperor is very tolerant of Xiao Xi."

Li Shui saw through it all and said, "Yes, yes, I don't know who it was, but after hearing what I said, they dropped the mechanism they were holding and dragged me over here, afraid that their beloved disciple would be criticized."

Yi Xiao laughed. It was no secret that he doted on Qiao Xi. His hearty laughter echoed through the woods, startling a few gray sparrows.

Meanwhile, Qiao Xi was still standing there, and Morax hadn't yet said whether he wanted to go with her to find ingredients.

Seeing that Qiao Xi was not moving, Morax asked, "Why aren't you leaving?"

Qiao Xi: "Where to?"

Morax frowned: "Find the ingredients."

Qiao Xi asked in surprise, "You said yes?"

Morax sighed softly and nodded.

Qiao Xi was very happy: "Great, I have a helper now."

Morax Welton, it turns out he was just an assistant.

Qiao Xi was full of fighting spirit. She said to Morax, "Let's go to the Bamboo Garden first. I need to carry a basket."

She paused, then smiled at Morax, her bright eyes and white teeth shining through, "I'll get you a basket too. I wove them myself from bamboo; they're very sturdy."

She said this with a smug look on her face.

Morax looked at her and said, "Okay."

*

In the bamboo garden, the snow had already covered the footprints from not long ago. The snow was pure white, and Qiao Xi and Morax stepped on the footprints one after the other.

Qiao Xi opened the courtyard gate and went in first. She said to Morax, "Wait for me, I'll be right there."

After saying that, he turned around and dashed into the house.

Morax walked into the yard and saw the snowman still obediently sitting in the middle of the yard.

He remembered Qiao Xi building a snowman; she was short and pushed a clumsy ball, dressed so warmly that she looked cozy in the snow.

Morax wandered around the yard casually.

He saw the faucet that Qiao Xi had made; the magic inside was clearly cloud-filtering, capable of producing clean water.

A small house built of bamboo caught his attention. Morax walked over, lifted the curtain, and discovered that it was a small bathroom.

There was a watering can made from lotus seeds; he found the girl to be very clever.

Just then, he glanced at the pajamas that Qiao Xi had changed out of and hadn't had time to put away yet.

A pink spaghetti strap top hangs to the side.

Morax paused briefly, looked away, and came out of the bathroom.

He stood in the yard for a while, and when Qiao Xi came out of the house carrying two large baskets, Morax was examining a half-finished bicycle made of bamboo.

Qiao Xi walked over and handed Morax a basket, which Morax took and carried.

Qiao Xi slung the basket over her shoulder and pointed to the bicycle, saying to Morax, "I tried to make a bicycle out of bamboo, but the chain was hard to work with, so it's been sitting here unused ever since."

Morax glanced at the spot Qiao Xi was pointing to and asked her what shape the bike chain was roughly.

After Qiao Xi described it to him, Morax used his divine power on the location of the chain. In an instant, golden light poured out, and a chain forged from iron ore appeared on it.

Morax: "Give it a try."

Qiao Xi smiled, and couldn't help but lean closer, looking up at Mocas. "You're really amazing."

There are little stars in her eyes.

Morax looked down at her.

His expression remained calm and composed.

In a brief moment of eye contact, Qiao Xi recalled the angry expression on Morax's face when she sat on his tail not long ago.

Then I thought of all the things that had happened before, such as managing the water and returning to the end.

She looked at Morax and suddenly asked, "Morax, do you want to pinch my cheek?"
