Chapter 41: Excessively Lack of Detail

Chapter 41: Excessively Lack of Detail

After a brief pause, Morax said that what they would be learning today was to distinguish the plants and trees in the forest and to learn about basic medicinal herbs.

Qiao Xi thought for a moment and said, "During this time, I've gone down the mountain with my masters or followed Jinlan on patrols, so I've gotten to know some people and have some basic knowledge."

Morax nodded. "That's good." He reached out and gently wiped the water stains from Qiao Xi's mouth, then continued, "It's never a bad thing to get to know more people."

Qiao Xi touched the spot where her mouth had just been wiped. She looked up at Morax and noticed that Morax's demeanor when imparting knowledge was completely different from his behavior when they were intimate.

The former remained unmoved, her emotions undisturbed, her reason and seriousness unwavering; the latter, well, she decided to keep thinking about it.

Qiao Xi pursed her lips, stuffed the locust flower into her mouth, and chewed it with a frown.

Morax tapped her head and frowned slightly: "Qiao Xi, listen carefully."

Qiao Xi swallowed the locust flower, her mouth filled with its fragrance. She felt uncomfortable whenever she listened to the lecture, so she looked up at Morax and smiled, "You still want to kiss, right? My mouth smells of flowers now, how about we kiss for another hour?"

Morax looked at her; her smile was beautiful, but he always felt there was something malicious hidden in it.

Besides, kissing for an hour—this girl really dares to dream. She doesn't mind the effort, but he does.

Morax: "No, I should go study."

Qiao Xi lowered her head helplessly, trying to escape the failure of her studies.

She rubbed her face and followed Morax.

The mountains were covered with lush vegetation, and Morax produced paper and pen from somewhere and handed them to Qiao Xi.

Qiao Xi was still struggling: "There's no ink."

Morax looked at her, then expressionlessly handed her another bottle of portable ink in a crystal jar.

Qiao Xi was speechless after this whole ordeal.

Seeing her embarrassed expression, Morax couldn't help but laugh.

For some reason, he thought this girl should love learning, but after several interactions, he found that Qiao Xi actually had some resistance to learning.

It's not so much resistance as simple... hatred?

Morax thought uncertainly.

But no matter what, today's task must be completed; we can't let her delay our progress because of her relationship with me.

Qiao Xi listlessly took the ink, then tried to make an excuse: "Morax, there's no table."

Morax gave a nonchalant "Oh".

Qiao Xi tilted her head: "Why did you say 'oh'?"

Morax looked at her with his arms crossed, his expression blank, but you could hear a hint of mockery in his tone: "I learned it from you."

Qiao Xi: "Oh"

Morax: "Oh?"

Qiao Xi glanced at him: "I learned it from you."

Morax looked down at her slightly chubby face and couldn't help but laugh. He said, "You can write as long as you have a table?"

When Qiao Xi heard him say this, the corners of her mouth twitched slightly. She had a feeling that Morax could pull out another table.

It's understandable to carry paper, ink, and pens with your child, but what kind of good person would carry a table around with them?!

Qiao Xi frowned. Right now, she was more curious about where Morax was going to pull out a table than to study obediently.

Unfortunately, Morax didn't have the habit of carrying a table with him, but he possessed elemental power. With just a few taps of his fingers in the air, an amber-colored slab of rock, glowing with golden light, gradually appeared and floated to Qiao Xi's side, following her movements.

Qiao Xi blinked. "Is that even possible?"

She forgot that her boyfriend possessed elemental powers.

Qiao Xi looked at Mocas, and Mocas looked at her too.

Qiao Xi was speechless: "You're amazing."

Morakot readily accepted: "Thank you for the compliment."

When Qiao Xi placed the paper on the rock slab, she was surprised to find that the slab was warm to the touch. Morax had thoughtfully made it so that the stone wouldn't be too cold for her.

Qiao Xi was a little touched: "Morax, you're so kind."

Morax: "Then take it seriously and study hard."

Qiao Xi: "I don't like hearing you say that."

Morax smiled slightly, walked up to Qiao Xi, bent down and kissed her lips, saying, "Be good, listen to me."

Qiao Xi was stunned by the sudden kiss. She said, "That was a really sneaky move of yours. Do you know how good-looking you are?"

Morax straightened up, raised his eyebrows slightly, and said matter-of-factly, "I know."

Qiao Xi: "Then what you're doing is seduction."

Morax laughed, tapped Qiao Xi on the head, and said, "Whatever you say goes."

Qiao Xi said, "Then, I still want to kiss you."

Morax frowned and tilted his head slightly to look at her: "You're not short of oxygen anymore."

Qiao Xi: "Purely lustful."

Morax noticed that ever since he had a deep kiss with the girl, she had gradually become less discreet in her speech. Suddenly, he remembered the story he had overheard her telling Jinlan in the forest last time, and belatedly realized that Qiao Xi might know more than he did.

However, it's clear that this girl hasn't developed the courage to act yet.

Morax felt a subtle sense of pride about this discovery, but he remained calm on the surface and said to Qiao Xi, "Let's finish today's task first. We can kiss tonight if we want."

Kiss again tonight...

Qiao Xi frowned and thought. According to the logic she understood, if they kissed at night, it would be easy for them to end up in bed together.

She looked up at Morax and unconsciously began to imagine what the person in front of her would look like without clothes.

When she realized what she was thinking, she quickly shook her head.

Seeing that she was lost in thought again, Morax reached out and pinched her cheek: "What are you thinking about?"

Qiao Xi thought to herself that she didn't want anything to happen in bed with Morax right now, since the knowledge she was involved in generally didn't include detailed descriptions of what would happen after the lights were turned off.

Although detailed description is an important writing technique when doing reading comprehension, it can hint at the author's thoughts, create atmosphere, establish the emotional tone of the whole text, and highlight the main idea.

But none of the stories or comics she read had any detailed descriptions. And even if they did, they couldn't be shown.

Therefore, she was very familiar with the details before and after, but she had no idea how to proceed with this particular detail.

The lack of knowledge frightened her, like being asked to construct sequences and solve problems using equations when she didn't even understand arithmetic and geometric sequences.

That's terrifying.

Chen Niannian had invited her to look at some detailed materials before, but at the time she was busy catching up on her math homework and didn't go. Now she regrets it a little.

She told Morax very seriously, "We can't kiss at night."

Morax thought she wanted to kiss him right now, but they had only kissed not long ago...

However, it wasn't impossible. Just as he was about to bend down and cup Qiao Xi's face, the girl pushed the small rock slab away. She walked ahead, looking detached from worldly desires, and said, "Let's go, let's go get to know the plants."

Morax paused for a moment. Was he too old, or was she too young?

He often felt that he couldn't quite keep up with this girl's thought process.

*

The two reached a high point on Tianheng Mountain. Morax bent down, picked a white flower, and handed it to Qiao Xi, asking, "Do you recognize it?"

Qiao Xi took it and nodded: "I recognize it. This is Qingxin, it's very bitter."

Morax said, "Well, calming the mind is a good herb, I'll tell you to remember it."

He placed the Qingxin on the rock slab in front of Qiao Xi and began to explain its effects and functions. Qiao Xi would occasionally tell him to slow down, so he would stop and wait for her to finish memorizing that part before continuing.

After Qiao Xi finished writing, Morax took the paper and looked at it. He realized that during the time he was away, Qiao Xi had really been practicing her handwriting. He could see his influence in her handwriting.

Morax gave a barely perceptible smile, handed the paper back to Qiao Xi, and led her elsewhere. In front of a small, purple, lantern-shaped flower, Morax asked, "Do you know what this is?"

Qiao Xi nodded: "The glass bag is very bitter."

Morax then told her about the effects and uses of the glass bag, and then took her elsewhere.

Morax picked up a red flower and told her, "This is a 'rainbow flower,' which can be used as dye."

Qiao Xi remembered: "So it can be used to make dye, but it's quite bitter."

Morax frowned slightly: "Do you always try everything when you're out?"

Qiao Xi paused, blinked, and asked, "Are you afraid I'll get poisoned?"

Morax shook his head: "No, if there were poisonous creatures in these mountains, I would have warned you long ago. I just think you're greedy."

Qiao Xi gave him a sincere wink.

Morax was tempted to kiss her by her every move, but he resisted the urge and said, "Let's go somewhere else."

Morax led her through the basic plants in the mountains, and Qiao Xi filled several sheets of paper with notes. Finally, she collapsed weakly onto the rock slab in front of her. When she was surprised to find that the rock slab could support her weight, she braced her arms on it and jumped onto it.

"Morax, can I have this?"

Morax turned around and saw Qiao Xi sitting on the rock slab in the air, looking at him with a smile as if she had discovered something interesting.

Morax nodded: "Take it if you want, but it won't last long."

"You're so kind." Qiao Xi manipulated the rock slab to Morax, kissed him on the cheek, and said with a smile, "Is there anything else to do today?"

Morax's gaze slowly settled on the corner of her mouth. Sunlight streamed onto the cliff, casting a glow on Qiao Xi's hair. He looked at her two fishbone-like braids, his gaze gradually becoming serious.

"Qiao Xi, is it stable for you to sit here?" he asked.

Qiao Xi looked at Morax's handsome face: "Shall we kiss now?"

Morax frowned slightly. He didn't understand her answer. After a moment, he realized that the girl had misunderstood.

Morax laughed and changed the subject: "I'm curious how you braid your hair."

Qiao Xi blinked, wondering why they were suddenly talking about braids?

As Morax spoke, she sat on the rock slab and, in front of him, untangled her hair little by little, the newly loosened hair having a slight wave.

The wind ruffled her stray hairs, and she looked into his eyes: "Can you understand?"

Morax looked at her and said, "I understand."

Then he bent down, cupped her face in his hands, ran his fingers through her soft hair, pressed the back of her head forward, and slowly kissed her.

“Qiao Xi,” he said, gently rubbing his thumb against her earlobe and pressing it to her lips, “open your eyes.”

Qiao Xi's tongue was still learning how to entwine with his. She opened her eyes, her breathing unsteady, her eyelashes lightly brushing against Morax's skin. She saw that Morax was also looking at her. His eyes held a complex, unreadable expression, filled with a barely restrained glint.

Such a gaze made Qiao Xi's body heat up. She shyly wanted to pull away from the kiss and end it, but Morax's large hand held the back of her head. He pressed her head forward slightly, met her gaze, bent down and kissed her earnestly, his tongue wandering from her lips to the tip of her tongue and then to the depths of her mouth. He learned so quickly that he was more skilled than the kiss under the locust tree.

Qiao Xi's legs were dangling in the air, and she felt strangely weak. Her insteps involuntarily tensed up. Finally, when Morax left, she braced herself on the rock slab with both hands and took a deep breath.

She looked at Morax, her voice broken: "That's so mean."

Morax stepped forward, put his arm around her, and ruffled her slightly messy hair, saying, "Be careful next time."

*

After the long kiss, Qiao Xi tried to get off the rock slab and almost fell. She didn't understand why her legs were weak, but she felt that it made her look very weak and she didn't want Morax to see it. So she pushed the rock slab and used it for support to slowly walk for a while before she recovered.

When she arrived at the Bamboo Garden, she saw Yi Xiao and Liu Yun there as well.

After the two immortals greeted Morax, Yixiao noticed that Qiao Xi had let down her braids and her hair was all messy. He couldn't help but wonder, "Xiao Xi, did you go to fight wild boars again?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Morax coughed lightly.

Qiao Xi looked at Morax, then at Yi Xiao, and felt that her master was in a dangerous situation.

She explained, "I've been learning about plants and trees from Morax."

Liu Yun asked curiously, "And what about your hair?"

Qiao Xi replied without hesitation: "I fell into a ditch while picking herbs, but the Morax people were very kind and rescued me."

Upon hearing this, Liu Yun felt distressed: "Let me see, are you hurt anywhere? Why are your lips red? Did you fall on the ground?"

Qiao Xi replied without changing her expression: "Yes!"

Morax stood to the side: "..."
