After the village head left, the people in the courtyard started discussing it.
"Who did Granny Fang offend that someone came to beat her up at home?"
An auntie curled her lip and said, "Old Fang is a bully who picks on the weak and fears the strong. At most, she might offend some people in our village. I think it's her eldest son who's always out drinking. Who knows, he might have offended someone."
Another aunt sighed, turned to Meng Zhao and asked, "Hey, Zhao Zhao, Yun Xiang worked for you before, right?"
Meng Zhao nodded, a hint of regret in his eyes, "Yes, I was short-staffed before, and she worked for me for a few days. Yunxiang is quick and efficient, and she's hardworking. She did a pretty good job."
Hearing Meng Zhao's words, the aunt sighed heavily and said, "That's right. Yunxiang is a good woman, but it's a pity she married into Granny Fang's family. To prevent the frame from wobbling, she placed two sandbags on either side, then put the dough she had just kneaded into the hole in the middle and pressed it down hard with a wooden stick. The dough was squeezed out of the hole below and turned into noodles that fell into the pot.
When the potatoes are almost cooked, use two bamboo sticks to quickly scoop them into a pot of cold water. Once the temperature has dropped, transfer them to another pot, and finally to a bowl.
Once the temperature has completely dropped, use wooden sticks to hang the potato starch noodles, handful by handful, on the wooden frame in the yard.
