Meng Zhao let Shen Qinghe press her hand tightly against his burning cheek, while her other hand held a damp cloth and gently wiped his forehead. The cloth took away a thin layer of sweat, but it could not take away the burning temperature on his skin. Gradually, Shen Qinghe's rapid breathing calmed down, and his unfocused eyes gradually focused.
"Ah Zhao," he called softly, his voice still hoarse with lingering desire.
Meng Zhao did not correct the overly intimate address, but simply replied in a low voice, "Yes, I'm here."
"A Zhao."
"I am here."
"A Zhao."
Meng Zhao did not respond immediately this time, but continued to wipe his sweaty temples with a handkerchief. Shen Qinghe immediately frowned in dissatisfaction, his tone filled with obvious accusation: "Ah Zhao, you are ignoring me."
Knowing that she shouldn't argue with someone who was out of her mind, Meng Zhao still retorted, "You talk too much. I'm not your yes-man."
Shen Qinghe seemed very dissatisfied with the answer and increased the intensity of grinding his teeth. Meng Zhao hissed and gasped, pulling his hand back sharply. Two shallow teeth marks were clearly imprinted on his fingertips, surrounded by a suspicious glistening moisture.
"Shen Qinghe!" Meng Zhao grabbed his chin angrily, forcing him to raise his head. "Are you really stupid or just pretending?"
Shen Qing blinked, then suddenly put on an extremely innocent expression, "It's your fault for ignoring me."
"You bite me if I ignore you?" Meng Zhao's anger frequency has increased dramatically tonight.
Shen Qing felt a little guilty and carefully took Meng Zhao's hand. But when she saw the red mark that was glistening with moisture, her Adam's apple bobbed involuntarily. The heat that had been temporarily suppressed in her body suddenly returned, and she began to tear at her clothes uncontrollably, revealing large areas of skin with an abnormal red blush from her collar.
"Hot..." he murmured unconsciously, no longer just pressing Meng Zhao's hand to his face, but grabbing her hand and pressing it against his burning chest. Meng Zhao's palm unexpectedly touched that scorching skin, startling her so much that she instinctively tried to pull it back, but he held it firmly down.
"Ah Zhao..." Shen Qinghe's voice was hoarse beyond recognition, filled with an unbearable longing, "Help me..."
Meng Zhao frowned. No, this was going too far. Besides, no matter what would happen to the two of them in the future, it shouldn't be such an irrational start.
She forcefully pulled her hand back, continuously wiping him with a damp cloth, and soothingly whispering words of comfort:
"It'll be ready soon."
"Shen Qinghe, be good."
"Just bear with it a little longer, it will be fine when it gets light."
No matter how she tried to soothe him, Shen Qinghe's body temperature rose instead of falling, his skin flushed an abnormal red, and his mind became increasingly unclear. He began to frantically tear at the ropes binding him, and new beads of blood seeped from the wounds on his wrists.
"Don't move!" Meng Zhao hurriedly bent down and pressed down on his struggling arms, but Shen Qinghe took the opportunity to bury his burning cheeks in her neck. The fair skin in front of him was so close, as if it were tempting him.
Shen Qing's Adam's apple bobbed. He wanted to grind it with his teeth as he had done before, but his remaining rationality told him he couldn't. He could only rub his nose back and forth against that delicate skin, his voice breaking with sobs: "Ah Zhao, please, help me, okay? I'm really, really in so much pain."
Meng Zhao pushed him away with all her might, then ran out of the room. The other four were still standing in the courtyard. Meng Zhao asked, "Wei Ze, where is the doctor you just called?"
Wei Ze looked troubled: "Replying to Madam Meng, the doctor was found on the street and was not brought back." He hesitated for a moment, then lowered his voice and said: "However, the doctor said that this medicine is very potent, and if we force ourselves to endure it, it may damage our health."
Meng Zhao was crestfallen. How could this be? The book said the antidote was easy to cure.
Wei Ze was also helpless. His gaze fell on the woman from before. Upon seeing this, the woman quickly waved her hands, her voice becoming shrill: "Don't look at me. I almost got beaten up before I even got close to him. If you let me in, the person inside will probably strangle me."
Then, her eyes darted around as she looked at Meng Zhao: "I can tell you two have a close relationship, why don't you help him get rid of it?"
Meng Zhao rolled her eyes in annoyance: "I'm his older sister."
"A close relative?" the woman asked, raising an eyebrow.
Meng Zhao was speechless for a moment, then shook his head. The woman immediately showed an expression of "I knew it."
Presumably afraid that these people would let her in again, she continued, "Actually, who says that this medicine can only be countered by doing that? As long as he urinates, the effects of the medicine will naturally dissipate."
Meng Zhao was taken aback by these words, and the tips of her ears immediately turned crimson. At this moment, the sounds of banging and pounding came from inside the house, mixed with Shen Qinghe's painful gasps. She glanced around at the people in the courtyard and saw that their eyes were all darting away. She could only sigh softly, steel herself, and turn back into the house.
As soon as I got back, I saw Shen Qing struggling with bloodshot eyes. Hearing the noise, he suddenly looked up, his wet eyes looking just like those of a wounded young animal.
Meng Zhaoqiang calmly stepped forward, put the cloth back into his mouth, and leaned down to whisper in his ear, "You..."
Shen Qinghe was gagged and unable to speak. Meng Zhao reached out and took out a bit of the cloth. His voice was broken: "I don't know how... help me..." Each word was accompanied by a hot breath, which made Meng Zhao's ears go numb.
Meng Zhao frowned. "Stop talking nonsense! Men are born with these kinds of skills, why would they need help? Besides, you've been secretly reading so many books, did you see them in the dog's belly?"
Shen Qinghe's eyes, reddened by the effects of the medicine, welled up with tears: "I really, won't."
