Baby's Night Walk (VIII)
"Do me a favor." Jiang Yu went straight to the point.
The call went through, but there was no response.
Jiang Yu thought he had dialed the wrong number, so he picked it up and saw it was Li Qingyan's number. Just as he was about to hang up, the person on the other end spoke.
"I just couldn't find my Bluetooth headset. What's the matter?"
"I need you, Bureau 749, to send someone in." Jiang Yu said as he looked down at his watch. Yu Shu hadn't been seen for several hours, and his hands unconsciously clenched into fists.
The signal from Li Qingyan's side is not very good, with a lot of noise and is intermittent.
"Ah? Who are you sending in? Aren't you here to send the little devil in?"
"Come as soon as possible. I'll send you the address." Jiang Yu didn't give Li Qingyan any chance to refuse.
There was no response, only a more chaotic electrical sound, and the call was disconnected.
Jiang Yu took a deep breath, expanded the scope and circled around the shooting area to look again. The director and others said that they didn't see or notice it, but the photographer obviously had something to say, but was reminded by the director to shut up. However, there were other camping tourists nearby who had not rested, so he could go over and ask.
He also did not forget to recall how Yu Shu would start a conversation.
The family who had been in the open space for almost the entire day said they did not see anyone coming out from the filming area.
Jiang Yu went around the filming area and asked everyone, but they all said they hadn't seen anyone come out.
He was worried and called the hotel to have the room cleaned. He was told that the room was empty and clean, so it didn't need cleaning. This finally dispelled his fantasy that Yu Shu might have gone out for a walk but his phone was out of battery.
Jiang Yu was even more puzzled when he returned to the set. The place was not big and it was open air, so the missing person would be very conspicuous.
"How is it?" Jiang Yu asked Liu Xu.
"Nothing happened. I feel like that thing is hiding from us. Besides, Brother Yu is missing, but the magic circle you set up here, Brother Jiang, didn't trigger at all."
Everything Liu Xu said made sense. No matter how powerful the mother and child ghosts were, the warning magic circle would be effective. However, there was nothing unusual throughout the whole day, so Jiang Yu thought that Yu Shu left on his own.
"Look again in the filming area?" Liu Xu suggested.
Jiang Yu frowned. The filming area was so small and he had searched everywhere he could. Searching again wouldn't make much of a difference.
Liu Xu came up to Jiang Yu and said, "Aren't there several RVs over there storing equipment and props?"
"Do you really think Yu Shu can walk through walls?" Jiang Yu quickly sent Liu Xu away and asked him to work overtime to help watch the filming site. He would discuss something with Li Qingyan later.
Li Qingyan brought a strange gossip plate and a camera. He pulled Jiang Yu aside mysteriously and said, "I want to show you something good."
The RV was near the water and the lighting was dim, so small mosquitoes and insects hid in the dark environment and gathered together. When people walked over and disturbed them, they immediately flew away, like dark clouds breaking into countless fine gray haze.
Jiang Yu frowned and waved his hands several times.
"I need you to step forward. The matter involved in the ghost baby's night walk is very troublesome. I am not convincing."
Li Qingyan scratched his ear with his little finger, thinking he had misheard. Jiang Yu seemed to be making a request without any awareness of asking for help. This kind of words should be said by a practitioner.
He thought about how Jiang Yu was capable, young, and proud, so he rarely asked for help in person. He didn't think much of it and asked, "How can I intervene?"
"Contact the police to arrest him."
"Why don't you just call the police? Why are you calling me? I have to go to work too."
"The interests involved are too great. We are small fry and need official protection."
Jiang Yu just lacks experience in interpersonal relationships, but he is very clear-headed.
Those who dare to engage in surrogacy in secret must either have enough money to buy off all kinds of connections, or have connections and power to shut up all parties. In either case, they cannot be provoked. If there is no official intervention and you report it in your private capacity, you may be retaliated against.
Li Qingyan squatted beside the RV: "Since the matter you mentioned is so serious, then I should help. But why can't I see Yu Shu? Where is he?"
Speaking of Yu Shu, Li Qingyan's eyes showed a hint of anticipation. Jiang Yu's heart flashed with a brief alert, and he immediately labeled Li Qingyan as having ulterior motives. When he realized it, he felt confused.
"It's gone. I'm looking for it."
Li Qingyan frowned and looked very unhappy. No wonder it was Jiang Yu who called him for help instead of Yu Shu.
He suddenly thought of something and handed the camera to Jiang Yu: "Open the album, I found something that might be related to Yu Shu's disappearance. Wait a minute, I'll show it to him."
After saying that, he put the Bagua plate on the ground and fiddled with it.
The special camera of Bureau 749 can capture ghosts and monsters. The pictures taken by night vision goggles are a bit depressing and creepy. You can vaguely make out that it is a woman wearing ethnic clothing, but the details are not clear.
Jiang Yu flipped through a few pictures and the scenes gradually became familiar.
At the same time, Li Qingyan also adjusted the Bagua plate. A young woman dressed in Qing Dynasty court clothing floated in the air. When she saw Jiang Yu and Li Qingyan together, her face turned red and green, and she was both afraid and happy.
The flood washed away the Dragon King Temple. Li Qingyan controlled Azhen. No wonder there was no news for so long.
Jiang Yu took a calm breath, took the Bagua plate and reversed the operation to release Ah Zhen.
"Hey, I finally caught it."
"Her, I released to find help from the mother and child ghosts."
Li Qingyan's face was full of embarrassment and he fell silent in disappointment.
Jiang Yu didn't bother with Li Qingyan and explained the situation in detail. He planned to wait until the Boy Scout came back before looking for him again.
Li Qingyan did not leave, but instead offered to look for it with him.
More people means more help, Jiang Yu politely smiled and thanked him.
Li Qingyan's way of finding people was very unique. He took the special camera and took pictures while walking.
After a circle, they returned to the RV. The filming was almost over, but they still couldn't find any clues.
"A living person can't just disappear from the face of the earth." Li Qingyan put away the camera and complained.
"I'll use my connections to help you check the nearby surveillance, but I haven't received a response yet."
Jiang Yu's eyes softened, and a cool breeze blew over, bringing a comfortable and refreshing feeling.
Then, a light mist appeared in the night sky and condensed into a human figure floating in the air.
The boy scout frowned when he saw someone outside, pointed at the RV next to them, and reported to Jiang Yu politely, "He's here."
That RV is used for editing, and you can't enter without the director's key.
Moreover, the RV has always been within his sight, and he has never seen anyone enter it since he discovered that Yu Shu was missing.
Li Qingyan cleared the fog in his mind, picked up the photographic equipment again, and walked around the RV.
The body of the car is too thick, but near the thinner part of the tailgate, a fuzzy thermal image appears in the picture, and a little observation can show that it is in a collapsed posture.
Jiang Yu's eyelids and lower eyelids quickly moved together, and a sharp chill shot out from the gap, crossing the dark night and hitting the director team directly.
He instantly understood the whole story. The boy band had its own popularity and there were supernatural incidents, but the filming was going smoothly, and the director needed more explosive points. So he fabricated the disappearance and bribed marketing accounts to use the internal footage as promotional material, saying someone had disappeared during filming.
It can not only attract the traffic of boy group fans, but also capture the curiosity of the general public.
"I'll go find the director right away." Li Qingyan and Jiang Yu are a bit similar, both are straightforward.
Jiang Yu stopped him and said with a smile, "No need."
Since the director wants to take advantage of the black traffic and make Yu Shu faint and stuck in the RV, then just do as he wishes.
The filming was successfully completed. When everyone took a group photo and clocked out, the director really invited Jiang Yu to be in the photo. He also asked where Yu Shu was and why he hadn't come back yet.
Jiang Yu put on a professional fake smile: "Thank you for your concern, Director. I'm still looking for it."
Both shutter buttons are pressed simultaneously.
Everyone in the photo is standing neatly in several rows, but if you look closely, you can see a half-figure in red clothes on the right edge of the photo, near the RV, with long hair fluttering in the windless night.
The uninformed artists turned pale when they saw the photo, and the reaction from the director team was even more exaggerated. The first person who saw the photo fell backwards, landed on his butt, and crawled backwards with a look of horror.
But Jiang Yu knew it was fake at first sight. If there really was a female ghost in red, He Yuhua would come out not only without any reaction from the magic circle.
However, he did not expose the despicable tactics, but cooperated by putting on a slightly surprised expression and said that he would investigate the matter thoroughly.
With Jiang Yu's words, the artists who appeared on the show felt much more at ease. Only a few people from the director team smiled meaningfully and said they were sorry to trouble Mr. Jiang.
The artists didn't dare to rest in the tent and suggested to the director that they go to a nearby hotel for safety reasons. However, the director insisted that Jiang Yu was there and everything was safe, so everyone put their minds at ease. Then, to show his determination, he walked towards the RVs and said that he would sleep in the RVs to set an example.
Jiang Yu took great pains to suppress the urge to roll his eyes. If it really was a dirty thing, the first person to get into trouble would be the director.
"Can you take a look at what I took and give me some advice on the composition?" Li Qingyan walked up to the photographer with his camera and said modestly.
The photographer wasn't happy about it, a forced smile on his face as he took the slightly outdated camera with a touch of disdain. The photos were just okay, not much different from the group photo he'd taken, but the upside was that when he bought marketing accounts, he could say that the people who visited the set had also taken supernatural photos.
"You took the picture too..." The photographer pretended to be scared, but his bright eyes under the dim light did not show any fear.
Li Qingyan respectfully took the camera back and counted to himself.
"Don't leave yet."
“This photo of me is a little weird.”
Jiang Yu and Li Qingyan sang in unison and performed a play.
"In my photo, there's a child's hand holding Wu Yihan's finger..."
Their acting was much better than that of the photography crew. They captured the degree of surprise and panic very well. Moreover, when Li Qingyan pointed at the extra hand, his fingers trembled slightly.
The hand was a Boy Scout, a gift Jiang Yu had arranged for the director. He specifically instructed the camera crew to keep the hand out while filming, and only show it when Li Qingyan was filming. Because the camera records the time of shooting, the difference between the two was within a second. The fact that there was only a hand hanging in the air, without a body, made the scene even more eerie and terrifying.
They walked right next to the director.
The director's face turned pale and he glanced in Wu Yihan's direction in panic.
He didn't know if he was scaring himself or if it really existed. From time to time, he could see the child holding Wu Yihan's hand in the blink of an eye, but it seemed that no one else could see it.
He took a few steps back, looking at Jiang Yu with a panicked, pleading look, and blurted out, "Mr. Jiang, is this... true or false?"
Jiang Yu glanced around calmly, his eyes telling him that it was too crowded to create panic. The director, understanding, waved his hand and glared, sending his men scattering like birds and beasts.
"Whether it's true or not, you know it." Jiang Yu knocked on the RV door, his voice cold. "It's so hot and you didn't turn on the air conditioner to cool it down. Editing the video later will be like being in an oven."
The director was shocked, but he still tried to hold back: "It's okay, the working conditions are limited and I can just get over it. As for Mr. Jiang, I know what's real and what's fake. How could I make fun of my own show?"
"Really? Then you can make fun of Yu Shu?"
Jiang Yu's eyes narrowed into a line, and the coldness that erupted was extremely fierce, like countless sharp icicles flying out and piercing the director's flesh one by one.
