Holiday Tea House (7)
"It is true that there are no tourists staying in houses 12 and 14." The housekeeper and Yu Shu's eyes met.
"Check again to see if there are the names of the two tourists, Li Chen and Gao Ziyang." Yu Shu had a strong premonition that even if these three days were a dream, those two people must have existed.
The butler looked embarrassed. He was just an ordinary worker. Even if he knew, he had no right to disclose the news of other guests to a guest. It was against the rules.
But Yu Shu quickly caught the butler's guilty look and avoided his gaze, and pressed him, "Is that right?!"
"How about this? Take your phone and record my questions. When the time comes, blame it on me. I forced you to do this, and you were just forced to cooperate. Use the recording as evidence."
Guan Jian closed his eyes and thought for a few seconds, sighed deeply, and then slowly nodded in agreement.
“They were tourists who lived nearby.”
The butler nodded and then shook his head, repeating this three times.
Yu Shu, both affirmative and negative, gasped and changed the question: "They have been here before. They are tourists here."
This time the butler didn't shake his head: "Yeah."
Yu Shu had a bad feeling in his heart: "They have been here before, but they are gone?"
"Yes."
"They're staying in house number 12."
"no."
"Number 14?"
“Not really.”
Yu Shu listed all the house numbers from beginning to end, but received no answers. Just as he was wondering why tourists who had been here did not stay here, he suddenly remembered that he had forgotten number 13 where he lived.
His heart skipped a beat; he already knew the answer.
The moment he opened his lips slightly and made an S sound, the butler stepped forward and reminded him to keep quiet.
Seeing the housekeeper's posture, Yu Shu had an idea in his mind. The word "left" has two meanings in Chinese. One is to leave, and the other is to die.
The housekeeper's actions undoubtedly confirmed that they had left and were walking inside the house.
So it was useless for him to set up the formation and put up talismans in the house. It was not because the things came from outside, but because he had locked the things in the same space with himself from the beginning. He lived in a dream with two dead people for three days.
Thinking of this, Yu Shu couldn't help but shudder, and roughly guessed where the two of them were.
"Basement, right?" Yu Shu clenched his fists.
It is not difficult to infer that everything started when Yu Huan went to the underground floor. At the same time, Yu Shu was very sure that all this was inseparable from the man in black robe.
The butler showed the expression you expected. He looked at Yu Shu for two or three seconds before turning off the recording function: "Don't ask me anymore. If there's nothing else, I'll leave. Call me if you need anything else."
Li Qingyan brought Yu Huan and Wang Zhiyao back to the house: "Everything is normal, nothing was found."
"In our room, on the basement floor." Yu Shu had already changed into clothes that were convenient for exercise and was waiting for them to come back on the sofa in the living room.
Yu Shu simply relayed the content of his conversation with the housekeeper.
The three of them stood in front of the wooden door on the first floor below ground level that had never been opened.
"Let me do it." Li Qingyan grabbed Yu Shu who was about to open the door and protected him behind him.
In a trance, the images slowly overlapped. For a moment, Yu Shu thought it was Jiang Yu standing before him, and he felt a little relieved. But when his gaze drifted down slightly, landing on the clean, mole-free ear, he realized that it was Li Qingyan in front of him, who had simply done something similar to Jiang Yu.
After recognizing the person, Yu Shu's sense of security disappeared again. He took a small step back and kept a distance from Li Qingyan.
"What's wrong?" Li Qingyan turned around and saw Yu Shu's small movement of retreating, and the light in his eyes suddenly faded a little.
"It's nothing, it's just a bit crowded because we're too close." Yu Shu hinted at something.
Li Qingyan was no fool. He understood Yu Shu's subtext of wanting to keep his distance from him, and smiled casually, "It's a bit crowded."
While Li Qingyan was replying, Yu Shu opened the ancient sandalwood door with exquisite carvings.
The entire room was empty except for the shelves. The unused wooden shelves were covered in dust, and it was obvious that no one had been there for a long time. Normally, a room that had not been visited for years would have signs of spider webs, insects, and other activities in the corners, but the walls were unusually clean, as if someone had taken care of them regularly.
Yu Shu breathed a sigh of relief. He had been afraid that there would be unexpected developments when the door was opened, but fortunately everything was normal.
He turned around and saw Li Chen and Gao Ziyang rushing towards him in panic, holding their stomachs. Dark red liquid and some tender red fleshy strips were oozing out from between their fingers.
The two men didn't see him, and the moment they touched, they passed through his body.
"Close the door quickly." Li Chen's voice trembled.
The two men, with pale lips and blue faces, squeezed out their strength, veins on their hands popped out, slammed the iron door shut, and fell to the ground.
The wooden door that Yu Shu had seen before disappeared, and the room no longer had only shelves, but a huge freezer.
"There's someone in room 13 of xx teahouse, holding a knife... and injuring people." Gao Ziyang weakly called for help from 110.
Soon, there were figures outside the door, the sound of wandering footsteps, and the harsh sound of sharp objects rubbing against the iron door.
Yu Shu recalled a report from many years ago.
Three friends were out and about when their mutual girlfriend was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend. She ran from her own room to two of her friends' for help. She asked the two male friends to help her talk him down while she hid inside and locked her friends out. Although they had their keys, their actions only exacerbated the ex-boyfriend's already troubled state.
After the police subdued the ex-boyfriend, they found the bodies of both men in the freezer on the underground first floor. Both of them had six or seven stab wounds in the abdomen, one had a ruptured liver, and the other had intestines leaking out.
Because the two boys grew up in an orphanage, no one sought justice for them, and the matter just let it go.
But ironically, the girl later reconciled with her ex-boyfriend and posted a photo of the four of them on social media with the caption: Long live friendship.
"Don't sleep! Hold on a little longer! The police will be here soon! The ambulance will be here soon too!"
Yu Shu took off his coat and covered them with it, but the moment it made contact, it passed through him. He could do nothing but watch as two young lives gradually lost consciousness, frosted over in the cold storage, his facial muscles trembling uncontrollably with pain.
Yu Shu listened to his own slightly twitching breathing and closed his eyes, unable to bear to watch any longer.
Li Chen seemed to have noticed Yu Shu's presence, and he struggled to open his eyes. A layer of white light hung on his eyelashes. He looked in the direction of Yu Shu and whispered to himself in a low voice: "Doctor is afraid of blood?" He thought Yu Shu closed his eyes because he was afraid of blood, so he just tried to raise his hand to grab Yu Shu's, but naturally passed through and didn't touch anything.
After a brief trance, the cold storage turned back into a room with only shelves, but the person next to me did not come back.
"Yu Huan?"
"Wang Zhiyao?"
"Li Qingyan?"
Yu Shu walked from the basement to the third floor, calling their names as he walked, and the only answer he got was his own echo. A subtle sense of uneasiness crawled over his head like vines.
Yu Shu walked quickly past his room, his eyes inadvertently sweeping across the huge full-length mirror, and he broke out in a cold sweat. The person in the mirror had all his limbs intact, but his face was extremely blurry, as if someone had deliberately rubbed it into a mess.
And behind him in the mirror were Yu Huan, Wang Zhiyao and Li Qingyan. The three of them looked anxious, and judging from their mouth shapes, they seemed to be constantly mumbling "Yu Shu".
But when Yu Shu turned around, there was only a deserted corridor behind him.
"You fell asleep again."
The deep, magnetic voice reached Yu Shu's mind directly. He recognized it as the voice of the man in black robe.
He looked around but saw nothing.
"I didn't provoke you, did I?! What good would it do you if I kept falling asleep and parading in my dreams?!" Yu Shu asked unhappily.
A man in a black robe appeared. He was floating outside the third-floor window and looking inside. His three-dimensional and handsome mixed-race facial features were piled up together, and he seemed to be thinking about a very tangled problem. The next second, his expression turned into one of aggrievedness.
"You didn't provoke me. I just saw you unconsciously participating in the dream and consciously directing its development, which I thought was very interesting." The man in black robe broke off a fresh branch and wrote a string of characters on the glass.
The technique was a bit like Jiang Yu's talisman drawing. The man's pen strokes were soft, slow and steady, like writing letters with the technique of painting.
The man finally drew a triangle with a sharp angle softened into an arc, and winked playfully at Yu Shu through the glass.
"But this time, I'm not asking you to parade in your sleep. That room is the final resting place of their memories. When you opened that door, you were naturally affected. An ordinary person might just faint, but your physique is so special that you unconsciously began a dream parade."
The man stroked his chin, tilting his head slightly as he considered his words. He snapped his fingers and smirked like a seventeen or eighteen-year-old boy. "Dream parade, in your language, is called out-of-body experience."
"Brother?" Yu Huan looked at Yu Shu who suddenly appeared beside him with a confused look on his face.
"You're not lying on the bed..." Li Qingyan took a big step back: "The man in the black robe?"
Wang Zhiyao remembered that they were guarding Yu Shu who suddenly fell asleep in the room. In the blink of an eye, Yu Shu appeared with the man in black robe.
He didn't quite understand the situation, but he promised Jiang Yu: "Until you, Jiang Yu, finish your work and come here, I will do my best to protect Yu Shu."
Wang Zhiyao quickly ran forward and stood between Yu Shu and the man in black robe, frowning and looking at the man with hostility.
"You showed no moral integrity last time, but I'm well prepared this time." The man floated back for a distance. It was obvious that Wang Zhiyao had left a deep impression on him last time.
Wang Zhiyao didn't bother talking to him and concentrated on preparing to burn it for him again.
However, as the man said, he was prepared and nothing happened.
The man put on an expression that said, "You can't do anything to me," and laughed smugly.
The man's behavior and words were like a teenager, and his face showed that he was in his thirties, but the words "Tien Shan Tong Lao" floated in Yu Shu's mind. The mischievous yet mature feeling gave Yu Shu a strong feeling, and he concluded that the man might be older than the four of them combined.
It was actually the four of them who were in trouble.
The paint on the walls of the room began to peel off, and the European-style decoration gradually emerged before our eyes.
The fireplace suddenly ignited with an orange flame, and a tarot card table appeared in the center of the room. The floor turned into transparent glass, and under the glass were countless sharp thorns. If you fell into it, your intestines would be pierced and your stomach would be torn.
"I'm leaving now. Have fun, but don't fall."
The man waved his fingers back and forth in a wave-like pattern, then disappeared from the four people's sight with a smile.
