Holiday Tea House (IV)

Holiday Tea House (IV)

Beams of sunlight penetrated the window, filling it with warm, fine dust.

Yu Shu had a very long dream last night. He saw his and Yu Huan's birth certificates, saw Yu Huan kissing him, and saw everything that happened from May to September of his third year in junior high school.

Although it was unbelievable, all of that had actually happened, but he just didn't notice some of the problems from his perspective at the time.

He finally understood why Jiang Yu teased their brotherly relationship.

Yu Shu glanced at the empty room and breathed a sigh of relief when he didn't see Yu Huan. Although he repeatedly reminded himself of this, he knew clearly that he didn't know how to face his brother.

"Brother, you're awake." Yu Huan pushed open the door, and his happy smile caught Yu Shu's eyes.

Yu Shu turned his head away: "Yeah, I just woke up. Did the housekeeper bring breakfast?" He quickly changed the subject.

"Yeah, it just arrived. I was just about to call you for breakfast."

Yu Shu stretched and yawned: "Yeah, you and Wang Zhiyao eat first. I had a lot of dreams last night and I want to sleep a little longer." He didn't dare to show it too obviously, so he found a reasonable excuse to get away with it.

"Okay, I'll keep your share for you." Yu Huan said as he was about to close the door and leave.

Yu Shu called him: "You..."

Yu Huan stuck half of his head out from the door, blinked and asked, "What's wrong?"

"How did you sleep last night? Did you have many dreams?" Yu Shu rolled his eyes and asked in a roundabout way.

A trace of panic crossed Yu Huan's face. He obviously didn't expect Yu Shu to ask such a strange question. He glanced at the floor and spoke in a lower voice than before: "I'm fine. I slept until dawn and didn't dream about anything."

"It seems like I'm the only one who's having trouble adapting to the new environment." Yu Shu keenly noticed Yu Huan's abnormality, but he pretended not to notice anything. He lay back on the bed, turned over, and faced the door with his back.

Yu Shu took out his phone and sent a WeChat message to Wang Zhiyao: "Did you dream of anything strange last night?"

A few minutes later, Wang Zhiyao replied, "I dreamed about my parents getting divorced and the emotional journey they went through when they didn't want me anymore. Did you dream of something strange too? Before Yu Huan came up to see you, he told me that he dreamed a lot about his childhood last night."

Yu Shu frowned. He asked, but Yu Huan evaded the question, unwilling to speak, and instead took the initiative to bring it up with Wang Zhiyao. He was clearly holding a grudge and didn't want to tell the person involved.

"I also dreamed about my childhood. It's not convenient to type on the phone, so please come to my room later."

Wang Zhiyao types extremely fast. It only took three or four seconds for him to reply after sending the message: "Should I bring breakfast up for you?"

"No, I don't have much appetite."

Yu Shu was no longer sleepy and exited the main interface of WeChat. His obsessive-compulsive disorder urged him to click on each chat box one by one to remove the red dot.

Usually, not many people look for him, except Jiang Yu and Li Qingyan. The rest are basically Tencent News and the official accounts of the hospital and department that he was reluctant to unfollow even after leaving the job.

He scrolled down and found that Zhao Jingyun had sent him a message last night.

"I just got back from a business trip, and I heard from the auntie at the supermarket downstairs that you went on a trip. Now that the weather is cold, I want to have hot pot with you."

Yu Shu tried his best to imagine the scene of him and Zhao Jingyun eating hotpot, but the image that popped up was Jiang Yu.

My already heavy mood became even more depressing.

The culprit just happened to send another message: "The temperature there will drop significantly in a few days."

Yu Shu's eyebrows twitched, and he was furious. He had come out to relax without telling Jiang Yu, but he still knew his whereabouts. The shame and anger of being watched surged. Thinking of He Yuhua and last night's dream, he became even more dissatisfied with Jiang Yu.

"How long will you stay there? Can I come to see you when I'm done with my work?" Jiang Yu sent another message.

Although they were just cold words, Yu Shu could hear a humble pleading tone in his ears.

Yu Shu's heart softened immediately. She wanted to reply coldly to him, telling him not to come. But when she thought that Jiang Yu might be quiet and aloof but he should be outspoken and proud, she deleted the sharp reply.

He sighed and typed a new message: "No, can you please give me some private space and private time?"

"Okay, I can wait." Jiang Yu replied immediately.

Yu Shu didn't reply. The words "I can wait" were too devastating to him. What kind of obsession gave Jiang Yu the courage to say this?

Yu Shu's mind became even more confused. He closed his eyes and sighed.

After more than ten minutes, there was a knock on the door: "Brother Yu Shu, is it convenient for me to come in now?"

Wang Zhiyao didn't push the door open until he got a response. He continued at the doorway, "Brother Yu Huan asked the housekeeper to take him to pick some fresh tea leaves. He just left."

Yu Shu opened his eyes drowsily: "Yeah, just come in." He didn't know why he fell asleep.

Now he could speak freely, but he was still worried that Yu Huan would suddenly come in and overhear their conversation. However, he was confused and couldn't guess the motive behind Yu Huan's behavior.

"I've always wanted to know if my parents still love me, and last night I dreamt of the specific scenes of their dislike for me... My mother disliked me because I would be a burden to her and it would be difficult for her to remarry, and my father disliked me for insisting on studying and not wanting to drop out to work."

Wang Zhiyao summarized his dream succinctly and clearly, then met Yu Shu's gaze and continued, "Brother Yu Huan said he dreamed about fifth and sixth grade, but he didn't go into detail."

The details aren't important; Yu Shu had a good idea of what happened in fifth and sixth grade. At that time, Yu Huan was starting to rebel, his most common refrain being, "Grandpa doesn't like me, he only likes you. Brother, will you always like me?"

At that time, Yu Shu just thought that his younger brother had never felt the love of his parents, and his grandfather was more irritable than before. These two factors caused Yu Huan to become an insecure child, so he asked such childish questions.

Yu Shu's dream last night was highly similar to Yu Huan's, except for the additional scene of seeing the birth certificate clearly.

"I feel like." Seeing Yu Shu didn't react, Wang Zhiyao added, "That dream consciously answered a question I really wanted to know."

A word can wake a person up from a dream. Before going to sleep yesterday, Yu Shu's mind was indeed full of doubts about who his biological mother was. He fell asleep with this question in mind, and then he knew the answer.

"I agree." Yu Shu nodded.

"I suspect it was those two people last night who did it." Wang Zhiyao expressed his guess bluntly.

Yu Shu also suspected those two people.

In the first dream, his doubts about whether he could continue to work in the medical field were answered; in the second dream, the veil of his biological mother was unveiled.

If it was really the work of those two people, then he should reconsider the seriousness of the problem. First, they could see through his thoughts, and then manipulate his dreams to give him the answers he wanted to know. This was beyond the ability of a fortune teller.

And Wang Zhiyao said last night that those two didn't look like living people.

"Do you want to confront them proactively?" Wang Zhiyao lowered his head and counted on his fingers.

Yu Shu shook his head: "No, I feel they will come again."

Yu Huan didn't come back all morning, so a new housekeeper prepared lunch for them.

The new housekeeper said, "The original housekeeper couldn't be contacted."

Anxiety surged in Yu Shu's chest, like rising waves crashing against his heart. A strong premonition told him that while Yu Huan might be fine, he was definitely connected to those two men.

Yu Shu tried his best to suppress the worry churning in his heart and act as calm as possible.

Although it was a bolt from the blue that his younger brother liked his half-brother, after all, he was the younger brother who grew up with him, and the bond formed over so many years of living together was not so easy to sever.

But he couldn't take the initiative to find those two people. If he took the initiative, he would have something on the other party, and the initiative would turn into passivity.

Lunch was spent in silence. Wang Zhiyao felt the low pressure and didn't dare to speak casually. He could only stay with Yu Shu as much as possible.

Wang Zhiyao actually thought about contacting Jiang Yu and asking him to solve this matter, but when chatting with Jiang Yu last night, he learned that he had a lot of things to deal with and was unable to spare the time.

The sun directly overhead began to tilt toward the west, and the shadows of the furniture inside the house also changed from short to long and in a different direction.

The doorbell rang around one in the afternoon.

"I'm back." Wang Zhiyao stood up and went to open the door.

Yu Huan, with a dull look on his face, was followed by Li Chen and Gao Ziyang.

Wang Zhiyao glared at the two of them with cold eyes, then quickly pulled Yu Huan back and asked with concern, "Are you okay?"

Yu Huan didn't answer, like a wooden doll.

Yu Shu saw that Yu Huan had been hit by a small soul-stealing spell, which allowed the caster to temporarily control the person being struck. He had learned this small spell from Jiang Yu, and it could be dispelled in just a few seconds.

"Come in and sit down. Don't stand at the door." Yu Shu suppressed the anger burning in his chest and glanced at the two of them indifferently. Only when he paused for a second did he show warmth on Yu Huan's face.

Li Chen slipped into the house with a playful grin on his face.

"You're not surprised at all." Gao Ziyang sat down in the same position as Li Chen. If you only looked at their movements without looking at their faces, they looked like the original and its copy.

"You don't have to show your surprise." Yu Shu said expressionlessly, "Tell me, what do you want to do?"

Although his tone was a bit cold, he still politely poured them a cup of hot tea.

"Were you satisfied last night?" Li Chen picked up the teacup and drank directly from it. The hot water was so hot that he stuck out his tongue and exhaled to cool down.

Gao Ziyang, who was standing next to him, took over the conversation: "We are just fortune tellers who know a few tricks. Last night's dream was a small gift we prepared for you."

Yu Shu noticed that Gao Ziyang's tongue had the same red burn mark as Li Chen's.

"Stop chatting, just tell me what you want to say." Yu Shu didn't want to have too much negotiation with them.

Gao Ziyang narrowed his eyes and smiled harmlessly: "We are simply curious about how you got your special physique, so we want to do a different divination for you." As he spoke, his eyes fell on the Eternal Life Knot on Yu Shu's neck.

"Have you ever thought about why that person gave you the knot of eternal life?" Gao Ziyang coaxed.

Yu Shu was stunned. Jiang Yu said that the Eternal Life Knot could ward off evil, so he gave it to him. The obvious changes after he put it on made him believe it without a doubt. Even when he saw the name on the birth certificate in his dream, he did not make too many associations.

Gao Ziyang's words were very clear in their direction - Jiang Yu had known He Yuya's identity for a long time, so he specially gave him the knot of eternal life that sealed He Yuya's ghost.

From another perspective, this shows that Jiang Yu is quite thoughtful and he has many plans and ideas that he hasn't expressed out loud.

Jiang Yu said that he had a special physique that was rare in a thousand years.

He couldn't help but wonder how much truth there was in "I can wait", whether he was really waiting for him or was just considering his special physique.

Yu Shu was shaken again.
