Chapter 81 Don't Touch My People
The smell of disinfectant stagnated in the corridor. Fang Changling's knuckles turned white as he gripped the phone. The last six words Xiao Qihao sent on the screen, "Wait for my message~", made his eyes ache.
The regular ticking sound of the monitor came from Shen Qingze's ward, mixed with the footsteps coming and going at the end of the corridor, like some kind of suffocating countdown.
"Qingze has been in a coma for almost two days, why hasn't he woken up yet?"
He knew that Shen Qingze was seriously injured and it was unlikely that he would wake up in a short period of time, but Xiao Qihao's disappearance made it impossible for him to concentrate on the case.
"I know you are worried about Xiao Xiao, but you can't be anxious right now."
The military doctor answered his third question helplessly.
Fang Changling turned around abruptly and slammed his phone on the nurses' station, causing the glass tube of the blood pressure monitor to tremble slightly.
"Shen Qingze is unconscious, and I don't even know what happened to Qihao. How can I not be anxious!"
The military doctor was stunned by the tears in his eyes. It seemed like it was the first time she had seen the fragile side of this captain of the criminal investigation detachment who always seemed calm and composed.
Qin Xiyang walked over from the end of the corridor, took off his police hat and wiped his face. The rain on his epaulettes slid down the folds of his uniform. He had just returned from the crime scene, and his dark blue police uniform was still stained with mud.
"Calm down first."
He held Fang Changling's trembling shoulders.
"The doctor said Shen Qingze's condition is stable. Since he asked you to wait for news, it means..."
"What does it mean?"
Fang Changling suddenly shook off his hand, his voice cracking and sharp.
"Does this mean that he may have fallen into the hands of the suspect? Or does this mean that we can only wait here in vain..."
“That’s enough!”
Qin Xiyang's roar exploded between the two of them, startling the sparrows on the sycamore tree outside the window.
He took a deep breath and lowered his voice.
"You rush in now, and then none of us will know what happened between the two of them",
"We are also worried about Qihao's disappearance! Who isn't worried? Are you the only one who is worried?!"
As he spoke, he pulled out a few photos from the file bag in his hand.
"These are some clues we collected at the scene today. It's no use for you to ignore the pile of cases. It's useless to be so aggressive!"
Before he finished speaking, the door of the ward was suddenly pushed open, and a female doctor wearing gold-rimmed glasses walked out holding a medical record book. The hem of her white coat swept across the arms of Fang Changling and Qin Xiyang.
The military doctor at the nurse's desk immediately stood up and called out to her,
"Sister Lai"
Lai Yun looked at the two of them strangely, and suddenly said,
"Hey, you want to fight? Go out and fight, don't mess up my territory",
"If you continue to make such a big fuss, I will apply to have all irrelevant personnel removed from the Military Medical Department."
She paused, and glanced at the two people's tense faces.
“Advisor Shen’s brain waves are fluctuating, maybe he’s about to wake up.”
Fang Changling's Adam's apple moved, and he wanted to speak, but Qin Xiyang grabbed his wrist and led him to the stairwell, whispering
"Believe in Lai Yun, just like the three of us in the serious crime squad..."
His voice suddenly choked, as if he recalled something, and he grabbed Fang Changling's hand with a little more force.

The gilded candlesticks cast a spider-web-like shadow on the dome. When Ye Xiang carried Xiao Qihao into the underground base, the black iron door slammed shut behind him.
The crystal chandelier cast cold light on the two of them. Xiao Qihao's pale face looked even more fragile against the backdrop of Ye Xiang's dark suit.
The bound wrists were rubbed with blood from the struggle, and the lips were sealed with black tape, with a few strands of messy hair stuck to the edges.
He lay limply in Ye Xiang's arms, with bruises still covering his pale face.
The man in black following behind Ye Xiang always kept a distance of three steps. The hem of his black windbreaker swept across the ground without making any sound.
Two rows of men in black stood on both sides of the hall like stone statues. The sound of metal buckles colliding was particularly harsh in the empty space.
Ye Xiang did not stop, his black leather shoes stepped on the Persian carpet, and a strange smell of ambergris and rust floated in the air.
"Hey, what rare treasure did Brother Ye capture?"
A man in a black robe emerged from the shadows, his scarlet cuffs brushing against the gilded carved railings, his venomous eyes gleaming from the gaps in his black hood.
"In the past I thought you were unkind, but it turns out you can also play the trick of hiding a beautiful woman in a golden house?"
A hoarse male voice suddenly sounded, and a man in a black robe emerged from the shadows at some point, his skinny fingers circling around Xiao Qihao's drooping hair.
"This delicate and tender appearance makes it a good bait..."
Ye Xiang suddenly stopped, veins popping out of his neck, and his voice was so cold it could scrape off frost.
"roll!"
"shut your mouth."
Before he finished speaking, the man in black robes had already turned into a shadow and approached Xiao Qihao. Just as his finger was about to touch Xiao Qihao's jaw,
Ye Xiang suddenly turned sideways, a cold light flashed from his sleeves, and the dagger accurately nailed into the wall beside the black-robed man. Wood chips flew everywhere, and the black-robed man smiled strangely and retreated.
"You're so angry, are you afraid someone might touch your..."
"If you keep talking nonsense, I'll cut off your tongue."
The person in my arms is firmly protected.
"I told you, don't touch him."
A flash of blood appeared in Ye Xiang's eyes, and the man in black robe groaned in pain.
The crystal chandelier suddenly shook violently, and as the candlelight flickered, the obsidian embedded in the wall seemed to open countless pairs of eyes.
Ye Xiang threw away his hand, holding Xiao Qihao and striding into the depths of the corridor.
The dim wall lamp lengthened his shadow, entangled with the vine-like gilded patterns coiled on the ground, like some kind of sacrificial totem.
The black-robed man stroked his red wrist, and a sinister smile came from under the mask.
The chandelier went out completely as he left, and darkness engulfed the two figures walking away.

Shen Qingze's eyelashes trembled slightly, and he slowly opened his eyes.
The pungent smell of disinfectant hit me in the face, and the incandescent light above my head blurred into a halo in my vision.
He moved his fingers, but found that his whole body felt as heavy as if filled with lead, and his throat felt like it was burning with pain.
"You finally woke up"
Lai Yun walked quickly to the bedside, his eyes full of worry.
"How do you feel? Are you feeling any discomfort? Does the wound still hurt?"
Shen Qing opened his mouth, but only a hoarse sound came out. Lai Yun quickly poured him a glass of water, carefully helped him up, and put the straw to his lips.
The cool water flowed down my throat, slightly relieving the burning sensation.
"Don't talk, and have a good rest."
Lai Yun patted the back of his hand gently, then took out his cell phone and raised his voice unconsciously.
"Notify Fang Changling and Qin Xiyang immediately that Consultant Shen is awake! Have them come over right away!"
After hanging up the phone, she looked at Shen Qingze again, her eyes were filled with comfort.
"You finally woke up. They have been anxious like ants on a hot pot these past few days, hoping that you would wake up soon."
Shen Qing moved the corners of his mouth, trying to force a smile, but it pulled the wound and he frowned slightly in pain.
Lai Yun saw this and quickly held him down.
"Don't move! You need to rest. If you have anything to say, wait until Fang Dui and Xi Yang arrive."
The ward fell into a brief silence, with only the regular ticking of the monitor echoing in the air.
