Wang Xiaoxia's gaze dimmed: "Are you going to become a mortal?"

"I was originally just a mortal," Wang Yue said calmly. She had waited a thousand years and was about to repay what she owed.

"So, what are your plans for the future?" Wang Yue asked, tilting her head and smiling at Wang Xiaoxia.

Wang Xiaoxia took a deep breath, raised his head, and looked intently at the misty sky: "How is the demon race doing now?"

Wang Yue looked at her with great interest and sneered, "Why ask about the demon race instead of the ghost race?"

The white-clad youth who jumped into the River of Oblivion that day left a particularly deep impression on her. When he escaped from the River of Oblivion, his skin was covered in blood, yet he still carefully and gently laid down a corpse, a scene that was both tragic and pitiful.

Wang Xiaoxia smiled bitterly; she and Cui Heng were destined to be apart.

“The demon king now only has one daughter, and his illegitimate son’s origins are unknown. Now that his daughter is married, wouldn’t he be lonely with only one person?” Wang Xiaoxia said, his face serious and without a trace of joking.

Wang Yue stopped laughing. This brat's life had returned, but her heart was trapped in the River of Oblivion.

Having survived a brush with death, Wang Yue still hoped that Wang Xiaoxia could live for her once more. She sighed heavily, ultimately deciding to grant her wish.

"That old demon king was quite dissolute in his youth, so it's not surprising that he had a few illegitimate children. However, after meeting the demon queen, his temperament became much more restrained. Later, the demon queen gave birth to Princess Muhe and died from postpartum hemorrhage. For the past few hundred years, the old demon king has never remarried. Later, the demon prince was killed, and the only biological child of the old demon king and the demon queen was Muhe. It's easy to imagine how much Muhe meant to the demon king. Even though an illegitimate child appeared later, his status in the demon race wasn't very high," Wang Yue said. Then, she tilted her head and stared meaningfully into Wang Xiaoxia's eyes, saying, "However, Princess Muhe treated that illegitimate child very well and helped him establish a certain foundation in the demon realm."

Wang Xiaoxia smiled calmly: "You mean the princess likes Cui Heng?"

"So that monster was called Cui Heng!" Wang Yue laughed, staring intently into Wang Xiaoxia's eyes.

Wang Xiaoxia immediately put on a stern face and refused to mention him again.

Wang Yue immediately stopped laughing and said seriously, "It is said that the princess treats Cui Heng very differently, perhaps even more so than her new husband. Rumor has it that the princess developed feelings for her brother, which was discovered by the Demon King, who then insisted on marrying her to the Ghost King to be his queen."

Wang Xiaoxia couldn't help but snort coldly: "If that demon princess finds out in the future that the brother she loves is not her biological son and that she has married someone else, how will she feel?"

Upon hearing this, Wang Yue's heart skipped a beat: "What do you want to do?"

She had a bad feeling, as if Wang Xiaoxia had already made some plans in mind.

Wang Xiaoxia's gaze grew increasingly cold, and he made up his mind, saying, "Send me to the demon realm in a few days!"

"Are you going to marry that old demon king?" Wang Yue exclaimed, her eyes filled with heartache.

That old demon king has not married for many years and is so old. Wouldn't it be like a lamb entering a tiger's den for you, young master?

Before Wang Xiaoxia could answer, the voice of the Bad Guys came over:

"You're not allowed to go!"

Before long, he gently landed on the artificial hill behind him.

Since returning to Wangyue Pavilion, the Bad Guys have been staying by Wang Xiaoxia's side, teaching her magic in her spare time, and guarding outside her room when she makes medicine. In short, they are like personal guards, carefully protecting Wang Xiaoxia every day.

“Now that the Ghost Clan has joined forces with the Demon Clan, if we want to fight them, we must first split the two clans. That’s what Cui Heng did back then. We don’t have his opportunities now, so the honey trap is the most useful,” Wang Xiaoxia explained slowly to the two of them. She didn’t care who she would marry; it was all about self-interest.

"That won't do either!" the Bad Guy retorted immediately.

It's better to let Wang Xiaoxia kill Wu Huan than to have him serve that wretched old man.

“It’s too dangerous,” Wang Yue added.

"Sichen, come with me, I need you," Wang Xiaoxia said, turning to the Bad Guys. Her calm smile captivated them.

Every time she called his name, it would make his heart flutter, and he became addicted to this feeling. He loved her and naturally cherished her even more.

“But Wangyue is right, it’s too dangerous,” the Bad Guy thought to himself, looking at her with a doting expression.

"Nothing will happen, as long as you stay by my side," Wang Xiaoxia said, looking into the eyes of the Bad Guys and smiling charmingly.

That smile was so beautiful, especially since it was the woman he admired. She was openly seducing him, and even though he knew it was a trap, he still willingly fell for it.

This smile was like a medicine that made the villains feel sweet and happy, even forgetting that they had just sternly rejected Wang Xiaoxia's proposal.

“Okay, I’ll go with you,” said the Bad Guy, smiling foolishly at Wang Xiaoxia.

Seeing the pathetic state of the Bad Guys, Wang Yue couldn't help but sigh. Men! It seems they can become foolish once they fall in love.

“I know you won’t truly give yourself to that old monster, but what will you do on your wedding night if you marry him? That old monster might not be so easy to deal with,” Wang Yue reminded her, still looking worried.

“I have my own way of dealing with it, as long as Sichen helps me,” Wang Xiaoxia said, then smiled gently at the Bad Guys.

The Bad Guys nodded dumbly, as if they would be willing to jump into any danger, even if it meant going through fire and water.

"Did you drug him?" Wang Yue whispered in Wang Xiaoxia's ear.

"A little bit," Wang Xiaoxia playfully gestured with her hand in front of her eyes.

Unconsciously, Wang Yue leaned back and looked at Wang Xiaoxia with great disdain.

"New drug, look! It works pretty well!" Wang Xiaoxia said optimistically.

Wang Xiaoxia knew when Cui Heng found Wangyue Pavilion, but she deliberately avoided seeing him. It was Wangyue who went to see him.

"I wonder what brings Your Highness here?" Wang Yue greeted him by going out to fetch a white round fan and gently waving it.

“Miss Wangyue, I have a question for you,” Cui Heng said respectfully.

"Your Highness, please speak."

"I fainted that day, but I don't know what happened to my soul afterward?"

"They've probably dispersed? She's just an ordinary maid. Although she has some looks, my Wangyue Pavilion has plenty of maids like her. If Your Highness wants one, I can send one to you," Wangyue said, smiling slyly, just like the shrewd madam in a brothel in the mortal world.

A hint of doubt flashed in Cui Heng's eyes: "I once said that she was a dancer in your Wangyue Pavilion."

"A dancer?" Wang Yue remained calm, her eyes instinctively glancing elsewhere, where Wang Xiaoxia was hiding.

"I taught that child to dance, and even after several years, he still dances like a mad bull," Wang Yue laughed, gently waving the round fan in her hand. The wind from Youming Ferry was cool, and as the fan brushed against Wang Yue's face, it felt icy cold.

Cui Heng looked at Wang Yue calmly. He could tell from her words that she had a close relationship with Xiao Xia, so if Xiao Xia were dead, she would definitely not be like this now. He followed Wang Yue's gaze and smiled faintly.

"Please tell Mad Bull that I will keep her secret. She is the only one in my heart. I will wait for her at home, even for a thousand years," Cui Heng said gently to the dark wall.

Wang Yue smiled calmly. Since she had been discovered, there was no need to hide it any longer. She gently fanned herself with the fan in her hand: "Your Highness has a good eye."

Cui Heng felt as if he had come back to life, and his hope for survival lifted his spirits.

"Thank you very much, young lady," Cui Heng said with a smile, cupped his hands in thanks, and then turned and left.

He was neither entangled nor did he have an open mind; he was indeed an excellent man. Wang Yue smiled silently as she watched the black figure disappear into the distance.

Wang Xiaoxia never appeared. Only after Cui Heng left did her turbulent heart finally settle down. She felt somewhat resentful of herself now. Even though she had died once, she could still be moved by that person. How could she possibly take revenge?

However, Cui Heng had not gone far when he was stopped by the Bad Guys again. The Bad Guys held a long sword and pointed it at Cui Heng, their faces calm, unlike their impulsiveness at the River of Oblivion.

“You saved me twice, but you also killed my father,” the villain said.

“Your father was practicing forbidden arts, and he was determined to resurrect someone who had been dead for many years. Even if I hadn’t killed him, he would have died anyway,” Cui Heng said indifferently.

“But he will die at your hands anyway. I must kill you once to avenge my father’s death no matter what,” the Bad Guy said resolutely.

Cui Heng didn't want to pay attention to him, but since he was Xiao Xia's man, if he didn't resolve this matter now, they would get entangled again if they met again in the future. So Cui Heng had no choice but to patiently accompany him.

"You struck me three times with your sword, and I will never retaliate. From now on, our grudges will be settled," Cui Heng said.

After thinking it over, the villain felt that this method was feasible, since it was better to resolve grudges once and for all.

"Good" is not humane.

After he finished speaking, he suddenly thrust at Cui Heng. Cui Heng did not dodge, but held his breath and gathered spiritual power to protect himself. The Bad Guy slashed down with his sword, tearing open Cui Heng's clothes and blood flowed freely. Then he slashed down again with his sword, leaving another huge gash. The strong smell of blood spread in the air, and blood rolled down his clothes and onto the ground, staining the ground beneath his feet red.

Cui Heng, however, remained unfazed.

“It’s the last shot,” he reminded him.

The villain raised his sword again and slashed hard. A white light struck Cui Heng, but as the light faded, Cui Heng remained standing in place.

“I’m not as good as you, I admit it,” the villain said, turning and leaving resolutely.

Only after the Bad Guys left did Cui Heng dare to catch his breath and come out. The three sword strikes had already injured his lungs and internal organs. He gently wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and slowly gathered his spiritual power to stop the bleeding. Fortunately, his soul was unharmed. He turned around and staggered towards the Ghost Realm.

Soon after the blood on the ground was spilled, many flowers and plants sprouted. Gradually, the flowers and plants withered, and the earth returned to its former state.

Cui Heng never returned to the Ghost King's Palace or the Demon King's Palace. He remained in that small courtyard with Old Jiang, lonely and taciturn like an abandoned orphan.
