pregnant
"Pregnant? Then I must take a closer look!" Old Jiang said without changing his expression, but before he could finish speaking, he reached out and grabbed Wang Xiaoxia's slender wrist.
Wang Xiaoxia couldn't dodge, and stared wide-eyed at the old man in front of her, her heart pounding with anxiety, forgetting to even blink.
"Huh? You, why don't you have a pulse?" Old Jiang composed himself, his gaze grave as he murmured.
Wang Xiao was in a state of semi-death, and ordinary people couldn't even feel her pulse! It turns out that this old Jiang's medical skills were nothing special.
Now that Wang Xiaoxia had a better idea of what was going on, he quickly pulled his hand away while Bai Ze was still in a daze and ran to Bai Ze's side, shouting loudly.
"You old scoundrel! You're not even skilled enough to know how to feel my pulse!" Wang Xiaoxia shouted with a firm voice.
"Husband, you must do something! Someone is trying to hurt your child!" Wang Xiaoxia lowered her head but looked at Lao Jiang and deliberately spoke to Bai Ze. She straightened her back, stroked her flat belly, and made a smug face for Lao Jiang to see.
Bai Ze ignored her completely, letting them do whatever they wanted.
"Let me feel it again!" Old Jiang said, chasing after him. He had never seen such a strange pulse before in all his years of life.
Of course, he had only ever felt Bai Ze's pulse.
"You old scoundrel! Don't even think about taking advantage of me!" Knowing he was in the wrong, Wang Xiaoxia resorted to shamelessness, jumping around and hiding everywhere.
Judging from her fit figure, she doesn't look pregnant at all.
"You're pregnant and you're still running so fast?" Old Jiang immediately questioned, after all, he had read a lot of medical books and understood this principle.
Wang Xiaoxia dodged extremely quickly. Old Jiang was already panting heavily after only chasing for a short while. After all, he was old. For him, he had already grown old the day he took human form.
"I'm as light as a swallow!" Wang Xiaoxia retorted defiantly as she jumped onto the roof.
Bai Ze remained silent throughout, so Wang Xiaoxia became increasingly unrestrained in her speech because of Bai Ze's indulgence. Seeing that he couldn't catch up with the woman, Old Jiang angrily swung his hand at Wang Xiaoxia, and a white light struck Wang Xiaoxia's leg. Wang Xiaoxia immediately felt as if she had been hit on the head with a club, and her legs went weak. She tumbled off the roof and fell heavily to the ground.
She struggled to get up from the ground, her mouth full of dirt. She spat it out and felt like all the bones in her body were about to break!
"You old bastard!" Wang Xiaoxia cursed, still unconvinced.
Old Jiang was taken aback when he saw Wang Xiaoxia fall like this.
"How come you have no magic power at all?" Old Jiang asked in surprise, realizing he had touched her too hard and quickly ran over to help her up.
Wang Xiaoxia grabbed a handful of sand and threw it over. Seeing that Lao Jiang also got a mouthful of dirt, he sat on the ground laughing so hard he almost fell over, as if he had gotten his revenge.
"It's a draw! It's a draw! I'm hungry, old man, do you have anything to eat here?" Wang Xiaoxia got up, dusted himself off, and asked with a grin.
Old Jiang wasn't annoyed at all; in fact, he was secretly pleased that someone could argue with him. Although he muttered a few curses at Wang Xiaoxia, he still led her into the house to find something to eat.
Bai Ze remained seated motionless on the recliner with his eyes closed. He seemed very tired, occasionally glancing at the two of them playing around. He didn't care whether Wang Xiaoxia was truly pregnant or alive; he had only brought her here to prevent her from spreading rumors and making irresponsible statements. At least, that's what he thought.
However, it seems that Lao Jiang is quite happy to have someone with him.
Wang Xiaoxia had never cooked before, so in the kitchen she did nothing but steal food and make things worse. Old Jiang saw that she had no magical powers and was simple-minded, so he didn't put up any defenses against her and was actually quite happy to have someone lively around him.
Bai Ze remained unmoved, so they had no choice but to move the prepared food outside to eat. Old Jiang was a good cook and prepared two dishes and a soup in just half an hour. Although no one came here, Old Jiang had cultivated a lot of land in this area and planted a lot of fruits, vegetables and grains. Bai Ze would occasionally bring some grain back, so there was always plenty of food available.
It wasn't until dinner that Lao Jiang remembered to ask Wang Xiaoxia why she had come here.
"How did you, a mere mortal, come to the Ghost Realm? And why are you bothering my young master?" Old Jiang asked, raising his eyes as he chewed.
If a mortal without cultivation were to go to the Ghost Realm, she would need someone to guide her. She wandered around alone and was inexplicably taken home by the young master who said she was pregnant. The young master hated mortals the most, so how could he let a mortal give birth to his child? The more Old Jiang thought about it, the stranger it seemed.
"I was originally sent to the Ghost Realm by the Forgot Moon Pavilion to do some work. I accidentally got lost and that's how I met your young master. I didn't mean to bother him. He brought me back himself," Wang Xiaoxia explained confidently.
She had been hungry all day and had been running for so long, so she was starving. She ate her food in big mouthfuls as she spoke.
"Are you really pregnant?" Old Jiang asked again, his face full of doubt.
No matter how he looked at it, he couldn't believe that this lively little girl could be pregnant with the young master's child.
"No," Wang Xiaoxia answered honestly.
She knew in her heart that even if Bai Ze was stupid, he wouldn't be stupid enough to believe that she was pregnant.
"Then why are you, a mere mortal, still so obsessed with my young master?" Old Jiang nodded and asked again. In his heart, such a perfect person as his young master must be loved by women all over the world.
Wang Xiaoxia unconsciously glared at Bai Ze. If it weren't for him, why would she have come here?
“I want his heart’s blood,” Wang Xiaoxia said bluntly.
This was indeed her true intention.
Now it was Lao Jiang and Bai Ze's turn to be stunned. Bai Ze didn't expect her to answer like that.
"What would a mortal like you want the young master's heart's blood for?" Old Jiang continued to ask.
Just an ordinary person, just an ordinary person!
"You old man! Why can't I, a mere mortal, have Bai Ze's blood?" Wang Xiaoxia shouted angrily, his eyes bulging with impatience.
"What do you, a mere mortal, need Bai Ze's blood for!" Old Jiang, also stubborn, shouted back.
"What business is it of yours! I'm just a mortal! You old monster!" Wang Xiaoxia retorted immediately.
"You little human brat!" Old Jiang also joined in the cursing.
Bai Ze didn't even have time to eat a bite of food before the two of them started arguing so much that he got a headache. He stood up, turned around, and went back to his room to let them argue.
Bai Ze did not appear even by nightfall. Wang Xiaoxia was puzzled, thinking that he had been sitting in a recliner all day looking exhausted. Could he have been injured? With this thought in mind, Wang Xiaoxia went to his room, only to find the door ajar and opened with a gentle push.
"Bai Ze?" Wang Xiaoxia called softly from the doorway.
But the room was completely silent, without a single echo.
"Bai Ze?" Wang Xiaoxia called out tentatively again.
There was still a long silence.
She had no choice but to carefully search the room from inside. As soon as she turned her head, she saw Bai Ze sitting on the edge of the bed, dressed in white.
"I didn't mean to bother you, I was just worried because you've been locked in your room, so I came to check on you," Wang Xiaoxia said to Bai Ze from a distance.
Bai Ze remained silent and motionless. Could he be dead?
Thinking this, Wang Xiaoxia took two more steps forward, but Bai Ze still didn't react, so she boldly walked to his side.
He seemed to have passed away peacefully, sitting motionless with his eyes closed like a statue.
Wang Xiaoxia reached out and gently checked his breath. He seemed to be dead? Could blood from a dead person still be used? Wang Xiaoxia suddenly felt sad. How could Bai Ze, whom she had finally found, just die like that?
"I'm not dead," Bai Ze finally said calmly.
This startled Wang Xiaoxia, who jerked her hand back and nearly knelt on the ground in fright. But Bai Ze didn't say anything more. She secretly leaned over and found that Bai Ze's face was red and his eyes were closed, as if he was trying hard to hold back something.
"Are you injured?" Wang Xiaoxia asked softly, reaching out to touch his forehead, which was burning hot.
Could it be that monsters can get sick?
Bai Ze suddenly opened his eyes and grabbed Wang Xiaoxia's slender wrist, staring intently at her with eyes so soft they seemed to stretch into silk.
"What is this?" Wang Xiaoxia looked at him with some surprise, but before she could say anything, she already knew exactly what was going on.
The effects of yesterday's aphrodisiac haven't worn off yet!
Wang Xiaoxia sighed and had no choice but to reach out and gently stroke his face, injecting the antidote into his body.
She didn't bring much antidote, and she used it all on him, since antidote isn't usually needed when using this kind of medicine.
But Bai Ze still refused to let go, and his gaze showed no sign of backing down.
Oh no, we've given too much medicine, and the antidote won't work anymore!
Wang Xiaoxia threw another handful of illusion medicine, but Bai Ze still showed no intention of letting go.
That shouldn't be happening!
"How come you're so big and so intolerant to drugs!" Wang Xiaoxia muttered as she struggled to break free.
"Do you think you can escape this time?" Bai Ze asked.
"You, you know, you..." Wang Xiaoxia said in surprise, looking at him with disbelief.
"So, that's why you brought me here," Wang Xiaoxia said again, still trying to break free but unable to.
She suddenly understood why the monster hadn't killed her; it had simply used her as a backup antidote.
"I am an ancient demon beast, and your illusion medicine has little effect on me. If I hadn't intentionally let you go yesterday, do you think you could have escaped?" Bai Ze said, a wicked smile on his face.
This was the first time Wang Xiaoxia had ever seen him smile, and such a chilling smile at that.
"Then why did you let me go?" Wang Xiaoxia couldn't help but ask, after all, he wanted to die knowing why.
"How could a mere mortal be worthy of me? However, I didn't get a good look at you yesterday, but today I discovered that you are so beautiful that I might as well lower myself to your level," Bai Ze said, his smile becoming increasingly lewd.
It's said that nighttime is when a person's willpower is weakest, but I never imagined it would be the same for monsters.
That's it! Now there's no way to escape!
