Stealing the Cauldron
"What do you need the Soul-Suppressing Cauldron for?" Aohen asked fiercely.
"Kill Cangze," Wang Xiaoxia answered bluntly.
Aohen lowered his head. He had witnessed the events of a hundred years ago, so he understood why Wang Xiaoxia hated Cangze so much. His guilt towards Chongli and his love for Wang Xiaoxia compelled him to be honest. He said:
"The Soul-Suppressing Cauldron is still in the Ghost King's Palace."
Wang Xiaoxia was puzzled upon hearing this. If it was in the Ghost King's Palace, why couldn't he find it? The Bad Guy had lived in the Ghost King's Palace for a while when he was young, so he should be very familiar with its terrain. He shouldn't be unable to find it.
Seeing her furrowed brows, Aohen smiled and comforted her:
“That Cangze is cunning. He must have hidden such a magical artifact very well. However, I also have a backup plan. I have cast a spell on the Soul-Suppressing Cauldron. As long as I use my blood, I can find this magical artifact and summon it.”
"Really!" Wang Xiaoxia exclaimed with delight. Looking at Aohun, she suddenly felt a pang of regret. If she had known this would happen, she would have kept all that blood he had given her!
When Wang Xiaoxia left, she was as innocent as a child, all her thoughts written on her face. Aohen couldn't help but laugh at her:
"It's not enough to just have blood; it also needs to be combined with summoning magic!"
When Wang Xiaoxia realized that his thoughts had been exposed, he laughed somewhat embarrassedly.
The ao looked at her with doting affection, then reached out and used its sharp claws to cut its palm. The blood began to condense in its palm, eventually forming a small blood sphere, just like a medicinal pill. It handed this blood pill to Wang Xiaoxia and said:
“Use this to go to the Ghost King’s Palace. Apply it to your eyes and you will be able to see the location of the Soul-Suppressing Cauldron. Come closer, and I will teach you the summoning technique.”
Wang Xiaoxia immediately reached out and took it, listening intently to the summoning technique, his heart filled with even greater joy. Now that Cangze had broken ties with the demon race, Cui Heng was no longer a threat, and Bai Ze's blood was also available; all that was missing to kill Cangze was the Soul-Suppressing Cauldron.
"However, Cang Ze is cautious by nature. You must use a fake one to switch with him and smear the remaining blood on the fake one, otherwise he will easily discover it," Aohen instructed again.
"I understand," Wang Xiaoxia readily agreed, then looked up at Aohen and said:
"You can rest assured. Two days ago, the Bad Guys disguised themselves as you and went to the court meeting in your place, so the demon realm is still peaceful."
Aohen frowned. Those people from the demon realm were no ordinary beings; their illusions were easily detected. Even if the Bad Guys were highly skilled, Cang Ze was not easily fooled. Moreover, Cang Ze had personally pushed him into the River of Oblivion; how could he easily give up the position of Demon King? Besides, Cui Heng was with Cang Ze, whose magical power was even more profound. Even Aohen had not been able to discern Cui Heng's true strength over the years.
Thinking of this, he suddenly remembered that after Mu He returned from the Northern Border, she had questioned him about whether the Queen had been in the palace the whole time. Perhaps Mu He had seen the Queen in the Northern Border, but if she really had stolen Wu Yan, then who was lying in the palace? However, he hadn't noticed the illusion technique at the time. He pondered for a moment and finally asked:
"Did you steal Wu Yan?"
As expected of the Demon King, he is not so easily fooled. After thinking for a moment, Wang Xiaoxia decided to admit, "It is me, but I have no use for Wu Yan. Now that you are awake, I will give it to you tomorrow."
If they want to join forces now, they must treat each other with sincerity; otherwise, losing trust could make allies more dangerous than enemies.
Ao nodded fiercely. So it really was her. But who was in the bedchamber?
"Then who is lying in your bedchamber in your place?" Ao asked fiercely.
“It’s me, my corpse,” Wang Xiaoxia replied.
Aohen looked at her with even more confusion, not knowing what was going on.
Wang Xiaoxia looked at him and gave a bitter smile, explaining:
“I died once. When my mother was pregnant with me, my father objected and forced her way through the gates of hell, which resulted in my incomplete soul at birth. To save my life, my mother used all her cultivation to repair my soul. So even though I was afflicted by the Puppet Gu, my soul was not damaged. Later, I fell into the River of Oblivion and died once, but I was able to be reborn because my soul was protected by my mother’s cultivation. It was Wang Yue who used her heart and blood to reshape my body, which allowed me to come back to life.”
Hearing this, Aohen looked at Wang Xiaoxia with some heartache, and suddenly felt a little lost. Muhe had also fallen into the River of Oblivion, but her soul had no cultivation to protect it, so it seemed that she could not be saved. Now, there was no place to even find her body. Thinking of this, his hatred for Cangze deepened.
"Don't worry, I will definitely avenge you!" Aohen said with a face full of resentment.
It wasn't just for Wang Xiaoxia, but also for the deceased Muhe and the Crown Prince.
Wang Xiaoxia just smiled. The only people she could trust now were Sichen and herself. As for the others, well, forget it!
"My husband must be tired after talking for so long, so please rest early! I'll go find my uncle so he can go and find the Soul-Suppressing Cauldron," Wang Xiaoxia said gently to Aohen.
As she stood up, Ao grabbed her arm fiercely.
"Stay with me a little longer, you're the only one left by my side now," Aohen said to Wang Xiaoxia with a somewhat aggrieved look in his eyes, pleading like a child.
Wang Xiaoxia then sat down again, gently patting Aohen's hand and soothingly saying:
"Go to sleep! I'm not leaving!"
She still needs him; as long as he is there, Cangze will never be at peace.
Wang Xiaoxia waited until late at night, when Aohen was fast asleep, before quietly leaving his room and going to Bulangren's room. Bulangren was a very light sleeper, and upon hearing Wang Xiaoxia's voice, he immediately got up, opened the door, and hurriedly asked with concern:
"Is something the matter so late?"
“Aohen has woken up. Although he was injured, he seems to be fine now. He gave me this. Apply it to your eyes and use the summoning spell to find the Soul-Suppressing Cauldron.” Wang Xiaoxia said, handing the blood pill that Aohen had given her to the Bad Guy, and then gently telling him the summoning spell in his ear.
The Bad Guy took the Blood Pill and said:
"Then I'll go to the Ghost King's Palace again now!"
"Also, make a fake cauldron and place it there, then smear the remaining blood on the fake one to prevent Wu Huan from noticing. Remember to be careful in everything you do. If you fail, come back first. Don't be reckless," Wang Xiaoxia instructed anxiously.
The man smiled, gently stroking her hair and saying affectionately:
"Now that you're all grown up, you've started worrying about me!"
Wang Xiaoxia couldn't help but hug the Bad Guy tightly. Her bulging belly pressed against him, and he patted her back gently, asking softly, "What's wrong?"
Wang Xiaoxia hugged him tightly; he was her only family in the world, and she didn't want anything to happen to him.
"You must come back alive. If you're gone too, there's no point in me living anymore," Wang Xiaoxia said, burying her head in his chest.
The man felt as if a warm current had struck his heart. He gently stroked her back. To him, wasn't Wang Xiaoxia his only family?
"You're going to be a mother, why are you still acting like a child?" he teased her gently.
Wang Xiaoxia then released her hand and looked up somewhat embarrassedly. The Bad Guy looked at her with unwavering eyes and said:
"Don't worry, I will definitely come back alive!"
Wang Xiaoxia then felt relieved and let him go. She turned around and returned to Aohen's side, continuing to pretend to be a gentle and lovely wife.
This time, Bad Guy returned even faster than before. He was already standing at Wang Xiaoxia's door, waiting, just as dawn was breaking. Wang Xiaoxia, who hadn't slept, stood up upon smelling Bad Guy's scent. She glanced at the still-sleeping Aohun on the bed before cautiously approaching the door. Seeing Bad Guy, she hurriedly asked:
"Did you succeed?"
The villain smiled smugly, stretching out his two hands. In one hand was Wu Yan, and in the other was the Soul-Suppressing Cauldron.
“Cui Heng’s injuries seem to be quite severe. Wu Huan has been guarding his room and has no time to attend to anything else, so I took the opportunity to steal this cauldron,” said the Bad Guy, his eyes fixed on Wang Xiaoxia’s eyes.
He knew that Cui Heng was hurt by her, and that the child in her womb was also Cui Heng's.
Wang Xiaoxia, however, seemed unmoved. She focused solely on taking the two magical artifacts and said calmly:
"He won't die. I only took some blood."
The villain suddenly laughed and said:
"I can't fool you anymore. The Ghost Realm is currently busy mobilizing troops, presumably to guard against a sudden invasion by the demon race."
Wang Xiaoxia smiled faintly, glancing out of the corner of her eye at the spot where Aohen was fast asleep inside the room. Afraid of disturbing Aohen, she whispered:
"The Qingyi tribe is currently causing trouble on the border. I'm afraid Wu Huan will ally with them and help them attack the demon realm."
The bad guy nodded and said:
"That is certainly possible, so we need to act quickly to prevent them from gaining momentum."
“Alright, you go back first. I will make my own decision,” Wang Xiaoxia said. Although Aohun was seriously injured and had not yet recovered, his cultivation was not to be underestimated. At this moment, he was suspicious, so it was best to be careful in many matters.
The villain knew what she was thinking, so he turned around and left without lingering.
When Wang Xiaoxia returned to the room, Aohen was already awake, lying on the bed with his head turned to look at her, a hint of inexplicable doubt in his eyes. Seeing that he was awake, Wang Xiaoxia quickly took two steps and said softly, "You're awake?"
Because of her pregnancy, Wang Xiaoxia always walked unsteadily, and she looked very tired. Aohen felt a pang of heartache when he saw this, but still asked, "You went out?"
There was a hint of displeasure in his tone, which Wang Xiaoxia noticed but did not show.
"My uncle is back and gave me Wuyan and the Soul-Suppressing Cauldron," Wang Xiaoxia replied gently and truthfully. She walked to the bedside and helped Aohen sit up.
"You've had a hard time these past few days. You're already having trouble moving around, yet you still have to take care of me," Ao said with some heartache as he struggled to sit up.
“Husband, what are you saying? We are husband and wife, we are one, how can there be any hardship?” Wang Xiaoxia comforted him.
Hearing her words warmed his heart, and he felt remorse for having just had a slight doubt that she might betray him. Now that she was going to have a child for him, how could she betray him?
