"This is a really good book." He looked up at Song Shixin, took out a white feather from the chest pocket of his clothes and put it between the pages.
"We will cross the Giant Serpent Strait today." Song Shixin closed the door and said to him.
"Thank you for telling me." Richard nodded with a smile: "Looks like I have to quickly prepare to jump off the ship."
"Are you really going to jump off the boat?" Song Shixin asked, took the book back, opened it, and took out the white feather, the tip of which was stained with a little solidified deep red.
"You know, I firmly believe in the existence of Sirens."
Song Shixin nodded. Many things flashed through her mind at once, and then she suddenly understood: "I know, because you have seen the Siren."
Richard's eyes lit up: "Do you believe what I say?"
"I believe it." Song Shixin nodded again. She looked at Richard meaningfully. "This ship was named the Siren because the captain also saw a siren. Which of your stories is true, yours or the captain's?"
"Captain's." Richard grinned and said to her, "Siren is not a kind spirit. She is a siren who uses her singing to seduce people and then eats them."
"So those three people were eaten by it?" Song Shixin asked.
But Richard shook his head: "No."
No? Her brow furrowed. If the three people weren't eaten by the Siren, then who could have eaten them? Could there be another man-eating monster on the ship?
"It's very dangerous at night." Richard stood up and walked out, saying, "You shouldn't leave the room."
"What else is hidden on this ship?" Song Shixin blocked the door and prevented him from leaving.
Richard looked at her. "I'm being very kind, what do you think?"
This is a threat.
Song Shixin quickly understood the meaning of his words, so he gritted his teeth and reluctantly moved aside.
When leaving the room, Richard glanced at her with a hint of pity: "I prefer you trying to flip over from the stern, like an old friend of mine."
