Chapter 255: Warming Up

Before they could leave the room, Nari had to go first.

Seeing that the time was almost right, she hurried away with her cell phone, and then threw the locker key into the potted plant next to the elevator door on the first floor.

She pretended nothing had happened and returned to the classroom. Few people noticed her as everyone was concentrating on practicing their own movements.

Only Yang Feiyu asked, "It's been so long? Are your legs numb?"

Nari blinked at her and said, "It's numb." Then she looked at the mirror again. Those absurd and weird things disappeared, and she saw the most normal appearance.

It took half an hour before we were freed. No one felt anything during the practice, but after a while, we started to feel sore.

On the way to dinner, some people were still discussing the incoherent events of this afternoon, curious about what had happened, but more people had already forgotten about it.

Nari didn't eat much for dinner. Yang Feiyu ordered a bowl of noodle soup and ate until she was sweating profusely. When she returned to the room, she rested for a while and then went straight to take a shower.

The air conditioner in the room was turned to 16 degrees, which is the lowest temperature, but it still didn't feel particularly cool.

There were no teaching arrangements in the evening, and because of muscle soreness, everyone chose to lie on the bed in the room to rest, stretch and relax.

Naili and Yang Feiyu went to bed early. The former was mentally exhausted because she had too many things in her mind, while the latter was physically exhausted because she practiced too hard.

Nari was immersed in sleep, her hands and feet felt weak, as if she had lost her strength due to sleeping too deeply.

For some reason, her heartbeat was getting faster and faster. The palpitations made her frown, and she suddenly felt hot.

The air conditioner was broken, and this realization vaguely emerged in her mind. Then she turned over, let the quilt hang down, exposing her back to cool down, but it was still very hot.

She groaned uncomfortably and touched her back, which was covered in sweat. She had to struggle to open her eyelids a little. Her head ached, her chest felt stuffy, and she was having trouble breathing.

Nari sat up in bed and after she woke up a little, she smelled something wrong.

Something is burnt.

She frowned immediately and did not put on her slippers when she got out of bed. When the soles of her feet touched the floor in the room, she felt the scorching heat.

"Hiss!" Naili took a breath, quickly put on her shoes and stood up. Sure enough, she saw a burst of flames outside the window, so Naili hurriedly woke up Yang Feiyu who was in the bed next to her.

Yang Feiyu struggled to sit up, "What are you doing?!"

"Hurry up, there's a fire!" said Nari.

"What?!" Yang Feiyu suddenly became alert. She hurriedly got out of bed, put on her shoes, and followed Nali out the door. But as soon as they went out, they both stopped.

It was too quiet. Even if everyone was asleep, where were the staff on duty? Why didn't the staff wake everyone up and arrange for evacuation when the fire broke out?

"Is this a mistake?" Yang Feiyu asked, holding Nari's hand: "It doesn't seem to be on fire. Are you dreaming and confused?"

Nari was stunned for a moment, then reached out and touched the wall; it was cold.

She was pulled back into the room by Yang Feiyu. Yang Feiyu took him over, opened the window and looked inside. Then she turned around and said to her, "There's no fire. You must be dreaming!"

Nari looked out at the quiet night, even the stars twinkling in the sky. She blinked, took off her shoes, and put her feet back on the ground. Sure enough, the heat was gone.

Yang Feiyu sighed and closed the window again. Nari looked outside through the glass window. The night was still dark and quiet.

Yang Feiyu pushed her back onto the bed and said, "Okay, go to sleep!"

Nari nodded and pulled the quilt, but couldn't fall asleep. Her feet, exposed outside, felt a little cold, so she pulled them back under the quilt. She heard Yang Feiyu mutter, "The air conditioner seems to be working. It's quite cool."

Nari stayed awake until dawn, even adjusting the air conditioner once. It seemed to have fixed the problem, and it was incredibly cool.

The next day's schedule was simple. They ate their meals normally and arrived at the classroom normally. It was the same teacher, and nothing seemed different.

Nari bent over and looked at herself in the mirror. It was strange, too strange. The mirror today was too normal.

The doubts in her heart lingered, but she could not find the breakthrough point. She could only continue to look at the mirror, trying to find some clues.

But as the morning wore on, she seemed to have lost her strange ability and could only see normal images. Nari thought she should be happy, after all, her shaky worldview could be put back together.

The repair of the air conditioner put everyone in a good mood today. Even though their muscles were still sore, they had to continue practicing and no one complained.

In such an atmosphere, Nari gradually relaxed.

Time passed by minute by minute, everything was normal and reassuring, and the rustling sound of clothes rubbing against each other was like hypnotic white noise.

The panting sound never stopped in the classroom. Beads of sweat slid down Nari's face and directly into her eyes, making her feel so dry that she immediately stopped and rubbed her eyes subconsciously.

At this moment, she saw with her other open eye that someone in the crowd was twisting his feet hard.

Nari frowned. She didn't know if this was a teacher's request or...

The discomfort in her eyes gradually dissipated. The moment Nari let go of her hand, she heard a crisp snapping sound, followed by a girl's scream.

Everyone's attention was drawn to the noise, but the one who cried out wasn't the injured person, but the girl next to her. She turned around after hearing a crack, only to see her companion's twisted foot.
