Chapter 50 Experiment

Regarding the production of the fourth copy, Nari called a meeting with Xu Li and Song Shian, intending to share her ideas.

"We won't make the fourth copy a built-in copy."

Xu Li still had company affairs to deal with, and Nari herself didn't like long meetings, so the three of them always tried to keep their meetings concise.

Xu Li, wearing headphones and using her laptop, participated in the meeting. After hearing Nari's words, she couldn't help but feel puzzled: "So what are you planning?"

"We want to build the dungeon outside the player's game cabin."

Song Shian thought about it and realized that this wasn't difficult, except... "Then how do players enter the dungeon?"

Xu Li: "Open the door or something?"

Nari looked at what she had drawn on the paper and said, "Yes, our goal for the fourth dungeon is to get the player out, and the ultimate goal is to successfully reach a new building."

As she spoke, she uploaded a photo of her sketch and explained, "This is a new location we're adding to the game in this update. The overall design is modeled after the ancient Colosseum, but the materials used will be similar to our current buildings. I haven't decided on a name yet."

Xu Li looked at the buildings that formed a circle on the paper and said, "Could you please tell me what it's used for?"

"We'll be holding competitive events between players later." Nari smiled, "Our meticulously designed props can't be useless."

The matter of the fourth copy was settled. After the meeting, Xu Li turned around and devoted herself to the company's affairs. Nari really admired her for not only being able to take on multiple roles, but also doing everything well.

Unlike her, who just wanted to lie down and rest for a while after the meeting. From last night until now, she was exhausted just from thinking about dungeons and activities. Her body was not tired, but her spirit was basically exhausted.

Just as she was about to take a nap, her laptop suddenly lit up.

It was a message from Song Shian: Sorry to bother you, I just received news from the hospital. Perhaps it is convenient for you to communicate now?

"Hospital?" Nari's delicate eyebrows knitted together, somewhat puzzled as to why Song Shian had told her about the hospital? Was he asking her, his boss, to reimburse his medical expenses?

But she remembered that the medical insurance in the interstellar space was quite good. Now, when going to the hospital for treatment, one basically only had to pay a registration fee, unless special medication was needed.

No matter what, she felt that she still needed to understand the situation. She could now rely on Song Shian and Xu Li. If either of them fell, the work that the other person was responsible for would have to be assigned to her and another person!

"Hello?" She dialed Song Shian's number directly, and the call was connected quickly.

"It's me, Song Shian. Sorry to bother you again after the meeting."

Song Shian on the other end of the phone looked at the message sent by Dr. Chen and his heart beat faster.

"It's okay, tell me what's going on."

Huh—He took a deep breath and said, "Do you remember what I said about my sister?"

Nari certainly remembered Song Shian's sister. This was the first "anesthenia" patient she had met.

"Remember, what happened to your sister? It's okay. If you need to take a leave, just tell me directly."

Song Shian on the other end shook his head: "No, Shi Xin is in good condition."

"Hmm?" Nari was increasingly confused. "Then... congratulations?"

"Thank you. I'm sorry I got a little emotional. The thing is, Shi Xin had a startle reaction while watching the live broadcast with us. I left immediately to take her to the hospital. The data from the hospital showed that her mood had fluctuated to a certain extent."

"Based on what happened that night, I shared my suspicions with the hospital doctor. I believe Shi Xin's emotions fluctuated because she was frightened while watching a live horror game. Shi Xin's attending physician also reported the incident to the hospital, and I just received the preliminary results of their lab."

"Naori, among the 100 aesthesia patients who participated in the experiment, 35 experienced a startle reaction when watching the nightmare game live stream. Subsequent test results also showed that their emotional curves, like Tokishin's, had slight fluctuations."

Song Shian's string of words made Nari feel somewhat dizzy. "Are you saying that nightmare games can stimulate people with aesthesia?"

"At present, the accurate statement is that it can stimulate patients with aesthesia who have been ill for a shorter period of time. The 35 patients who responded had been ill for between three months and two years. Their brains and nerves were in better condition overall, and they were more likely to respond than those who had been ill for a longer period of time."

"So the hospital's current idea is to try having these aesthesia patients enter the game themselves. At the same time, according to federal regulations, after the first round of medical experiments, the second round must be open and transparent, and subject to public oversight. Therefore, the hospital will broadcast the entire experimental process live."

This is a really big deal.

Nari immediately understood the other meaning behind Song Shian's words: "Do you want them to use the fourth copy for experiments?"

"Yes." Song Shi'an nodded. "The hospital has confirmed that the results of the first round of experiments will be announced tomorrow. So, regardless of whether the second round of experiments succeeds or fails, it's a foregone conclusion that the nightmare game will be more or less useful in treating apathy. This is also an opportunity to be noticed by people across the galaxy. What do you think?"

"Okay." Nari didn't hesitate. There weren't many opportunities for a game to enter the public's field of vision, so naturally, she had to seize every opportunity she could.

"Okay, then I'll tell the hospital."

"Thanks."

After hanging up the call with Song Shian, Nari stared blankly at the ceiling for a while, then stood up and hugged the little robot that was still sweeping the floor.

"Ahhh, Xiao1, I'm so nervous and excited!!!"

A big white question mark appeared on Xiao 1's black screen. Although he didn't understand why his owner was so excited, it was a good thing that his owner was happy.

The question mark quickly turned into an emoji (*^▽^*), and a mechanical electronic voice said, "Master, happy, Xiao 1, happy!"

After a brief and inexplicable celebration for Nari, the image of a broom appeared on Xiaoyi's screen again. "Master, please let me go. The cleaning is not yet complete."

Seeing this, Nari loosened her grip and let Xiaoyi continue with her housework.

She looked at the pink apron that Xiao 1 was wearing. She bought it when she went out for a walk last time. Although the robot didn’t really need it, it was really cute!

"Xiaoyi, I'll take you to get a better battery tomorrow."

"Battery?" Little 1's round head turned 360 degrees. "Battery!"
