Chapter 67: Time for Framed

“Someone!”

It was dark backstage, and there was a black figure sitting in front of the dressing mirror, which scared Xiaohua when she walked in.

"Hey! Who are you?!" A Guang took the lead and stood in front of her, speaking to the figure with a fierce tone.

"If you don't go to the garden, how can you know how beautiful spring is..."

The people sitting backstage didn't say anything, but music suddenly started playing on the stage behind them.

In the interstellar age, although everyone knows the existence of opera culture, the music scores and singing styles have long been lost, just like the poems of the past, which can be recited and read but no one knows how people at that time chanted them.

Therefore, the melody sung in this event was tuned bit by bit by Xu Li and Song Shian using artificial intelligence under the guidance of Nari.

Hearing such an accent for the first time, the two players in the backstage were startled and for a moment they didn't know whether to move forward or backward.

"It turns out that colorful flowers are blooming everywhere——"

"Like this, all left to the broken wells and dilapidated walls—"

The sound of opera outside continued. Xiaohua carefully leaned forward, but found that there was no one on the stage!

There are no people, but there are sounds.

She glanced at the entire stage, and after confirming that there was no sound, she shook violently. Such a sharp sound suddenly sounded in the dark night, which made her scalp tingle.

"No one." She retreated backstage. Compared to the invisible ones, at least the one in the room could be seen, which made her feel more at ease.

There were some beads of sweat on A Guang's bald head at this time, because just now, when he wanted to turn around and look outside, as soon as he shifted his sight, the person sitting there seemed to move.

He was so scared that he looked back immediately, and found that the person was sitting there quietly again.

Then he looked away again, but out of the corner of his eye he saw the man move again! He immediately looked back, but he still didn't move.

"What's wrong with you?" Xiaohua asked curiously, seeing him standing stiffly.

"When I'm not looking at him, he seems to move." A Guang swallowed his non-existent saliva, "Really? Try it."

Xiaohua looked at him and then at the person sitting there. The other person was in the dark, and she could only see his outline with the little light from the lantern outside.

"Try it," she said.

A Guang carefully turned his gaze away. Xiao Hua looked at the figure for a long time and said, "It didn't move."

"Impossible!" A Guang turned around and looked at the figure.

Xiao Hua frowned at him and said, "Is it because it's too dark and you're nervous, so you saw it wrongly? I just looked and it really didn't move."

After she finished speaking, Ah Guang immediately said, "Don't look! We shouldn't even look at him! Seriously, believe me, it's moving!"

"..." Xiao Hua sighed inwardly. She felt that A Guang had become a little sensitive because of the rabbit incident, but after all, they were teammates in need, so she nodded: "Okay, then we won't look at him this time. If he still doesn't move, you are not allowed to say anything nonsense. We need to complete the mission quickly."

"Okay!" A Guang's eyes were still on the figure, "I'll count to three, two, one, and then we won't look at him."

"three."

"two."

"one!"

Both of them looked away, only glancing at the figure out of the corner of their eyes.

"Ah!" Xiaohua screamed and bumped into A Guang in panic.

Just when they all looked away, the figure "flew" towards them at an extremely fast speed. Xiaohua turned around hurriedly, and the face of the actor with a white background and red face hit her in front of her, less than a centimeter away from her nose.

Now, she believed that what A Guang said was true.

"I'm watching him, don't be afraid." A Guang stared at the actor and held Xiao Hua's hand to stand up again.

After she stood up, she noticed two vertical marks on the actor's mouth, running from the corner of his mouth down to his chin. Looking at his hands, she saw that his long sleeves were rolled up at his wrists, and there were obvious marks on the joints of his five fingers.

"This is a puppet." A meticulously crafted, lifelike puppet that even moves. "So my job is to help it organize the things it needs to perform on stage!"

The sound of opera outside did not stop. Xiao Hua was very nervous and said to A Guang, "You watch it. I will finish the task quickly."

"good."

She fumbled around the room and, according to the detailed requirements of the task, found the folding fan on the dressing table and stuffed it into the puppet's hands. In order to get it to hold it, Xiaohua carefully bent its fingers, but fortunately, the puppet would not move when being watched.

"We're still missing a headpiece." She said, turning around and squinting her eyes as she searched around until she found the headpiece that matched the description in a box filled with a bunch of different costumes.

The pearl and jade crown, inlaid with gems and strung with pearls, is like a dream.

After putting the headgear on the puppet's head and arranging it properly, the puppet began to move slowly even though it was being stared at. However, it was not going to attack them, but to walk out slowly.

After it came on stage, the voice continued to sing: "The smoke outside the tea rose is soft and intoxicating. Although the peony is beautiful, how can it be the first to return in spring..."

It’s still the same humming opera sounds, but now there are “people” on the stage.

Xiao Hua looked at her task and saw that it was completed. She breathed a sigh of relief: "It's done. My life-saving money has been unlocked."

Having the money to buy her life means that she has an extra life. At the beginning, she saw that this prop was expensive, and she bought it thinking that she would not suffer any loss or be cheated. Now it seems that she made the right purchase.

"What is your mission?" She looked at A Guang.

"My mission is to go to the third young lady's boudoir and pick up the wishing stick she left on the table and bring it to the pavilion in the garden." Ah Guang said, "The third young lady's boudoir is a little way inside from the stage, but the garden is not far away."
