"They went into the cornfield?!" Forso widened his eyes. Qiongzhi looked at him and found that there was no dissatisfaction or anger in his eyes towards Fudok and his men for ignoring the warning signs and entering the cornfield. Instead, he showed a little envy.
For children, things they are not allowed to do and places they are not allowed to enter always seem to be full of attraction, and breaking the "rules" set by adults is what they want to do most.
After all, in their opinion, it means contempt for the authority of adults, and it’s cool just to think about it!
But now, such a cool thing was actually done by an annoying guy first! Zild suddenly felt unhappy.
"I'll take you back to expose them?" Renault glanced at the sky. He didn't know when, but the sun that was there earlier had been covered by clouds. In the distance, a few clouds that didn't look very beautiful in color were being blown towards this side by the wind.
Renault immediately knew that the town would soon be hit by rain.
"No!" Childe shook his head, looking at the tall, yellow corn stalks. Because of their withering, traces of plant fibers were clearly visible. "Let's go in too!"
"What?!" Qiongzhi shouted. He didn't think that what Childe came up with was a good idea, but Forso agreed with Childe's decision.
He nodded, adjusted his overalls, and then said to Qiongzhi, "Melinda, this is a risk! If we get out of the cornfield before Fudock and the others, they will be our defeated enemies!"
"..." Qiongzhi opened his mouth. He felt that what Forso said obviously made no sense. After all, Fudok and the others who were in the cornfield had no idea about this inexplicable game.
But Forso himself didn't think so. He was already immersed in the fantasy of defeating Fudok.
Qiongzhi looked at Zild, his eyes also full of excitement.
There was no way, so he looked at Renault again. Renault was older than them and only one year younger than Fudok. Qiongzhi felt that if Renault spoke, Forso and Child would definitely listen to him.
"Melinda, don't be a coward!" As if seeing Qiongzhi's intention, Childe said immediately, then he looked at Renault,
"There's nothing to be afraid of in the cornfield. The warning sign is just to worry about people going in and stealing the corn! But there's no corn now, so it's okay for us to go in and take a walk."
Renault frowned, and then listened to Childe say, "And we still have you, Renault. You're much better than those guys at Fudock!"
Perhaps these words filled a little of the emptiness in Renault's heart that had never been trusted. He finally nodded and said, "Yes, it's just a cornfield. What could go wrong?"
As the only person in the car who opposed this matter, Qiongzhi had no right to choose, because he couldn't drive back by himself. If he walked, his feet would definitely be broken.
He felt like a hostage, having to follow them, step over the roadside fence, and go into the cornfield.
"We have to walk faster, otherwise it will be troublesome if it rains." Renault said, pushing aside the withered corn stalks with his hands, accompanied by the rustling sound of the corn stalks colliding and rubbing against each other.
"Don't worry! We are the best!" Forso patted his chest and said confidently. The next moment, he was almost hit by a corn stalk that bounced back after he pushed it aside.
"We have to find the way inside first." Childe said. He walked in front and reached out to tear off a dead leaf from the corn stalk. There was no purpose in these actions, he just wanted to do it.
Renault was walking at the end, and he was taking care of a girl in the group, always stretching out his hand to push away the dead branches on both sides of Qiongzhi. This was a very gentlemanly gesture, but unfortunately Qiongzhi didn't feel anything.
Soon, under Childe's leadership, they actually found the hidden path in the cornfield.
"See, it's not difficult at all." Childe said very proudly. Now that he had found the way, wouldn't it be easy to cross the cornfield?
Forso was also very excited, because he believed that this was a sign that Fudok would be defeated by him!
"Hurry up." Qiongzhi urged. Since they had already come in, these two people would not turn back just by his persuasion, so it would be better to just walk out along the road as soon as possible to end this inexplicable game.
If he had known this, he might as well have gone to the store with his dad to help out today...
Seeing that Qiongzhi was in a bad mood, Renault touched her head and comforted her like a brother: "Don't worry, they will want to go back once their curiosity is satisfied."
He whispered this sentence into Qiongzhi's ear. The girl's naturally curly brown hair was not particularly conspicuous in the withered cornfield, giving people the illusion that she might disappear at the next moment.
Qiongzhi nodded, snorted irritably, and continued to follow the two people in front with a sullen face.
Although they found the way, the cornfield was full of the same scenery, so it was difficult to tell which direction the road they were heading in.
Having no sense of direction is obviously not a good thing, but the children here don't understand this.
“It’s a cigarette butt!”
Qiongzhi intuitively felt that they had walked a long way, but because there were only the same corn stalks all around, he was not sure whether he had really walked very far.
Just at this moment, Forso's voice was heard. He pointed angrily at a yellow cigarette butt in the middle of the road. There was still a little white on it, and a little spark that had not been completely extinguished was still burning weakly.
