Xi Ran rolled her eyes at Chu Jiangyi, "What's so embarrassing about that? You seem to be doing quite well, with no worries at all."
Chu Jiang smiled sheepishly, "I've been pursuing Sun Qing for six years without getting her to agree to be my girlfriend, and then Chen Yang from the law department snatched her away after just a few days. Isn't that embarrassing?"
Xi Ran asked in surprise, "Didn't you pursue the school beauty for three years? How did it become six years?"
Chu Jiang also sighed and recounted most of their past.
Xi Ran stared in shock, her mouth agape, before finally managing to utter, "You're so devoted."
"So-so."
"That's nothing special. You don't mean you're planning to spend ten years pursuing your wife, do you?"
Chu Jiang didn't dare to reply. That was exactly what he was thinking. Sun Qing kept making excuses to him, saying she wasn't ready and didn't want to be in a relationship. But she seemed really happy going out to eat and shop with Chen Yang. That's when he knew he had lost.
But in the end, he was too foolish. He actually believed Sun Qing's story and pursued her year after year. It's ridiculous.
"I'm not that stupid. Luckily, I saw her true colors and pulled back from the brink. Otherwise, I would have given all my youth to Sun Qing. What a waste! I didn't even have time to have a relationship before my youth was over."
