33. Chapter 33: A Strange Brain Circuit

Chapter 33: A Strange Brain Circuit

She looked up in surprise, and when she saw the person in front of her clearly, she subconsciously took a step back.

It was the boy who gave her black wolfberry and hot milk tea.

He was still wearing the stained khaki shorts, but had changed into a black T-shirt with white patches of scattered dandruff on his shoulders.

The other person had a smile on his face, but for some reason, this smile made Shen Ci feel creepy.

Before Shen Ci could speak, a bouquet of flowers appeared in front of her.

It is a warm red rose.

Shen Ci shook her head with a slightly startled expression and quickly refused: "Sorry, classmate, this is inappropriate."

Hao Penghui seemed to have not expected that Shen Ci would reject him. When he heard this, the smile on his face froze. He blinked and asked, "You...you don't like roses, right?"

"It's not about the flowers. I can't accept your things for no reason. Forget about the black wolfberry and milk tea before, but please don't do this again in the future."

Shen Ci tried her best to communicate with the other party in a tactful tone, because she felt that the person in front of her had an inexplicable sense of madness, and in short, it was not safe.

But after hearing what Shen Ci said, Hao Penghui showed an expression of disbelief: "What do you mean by for no reason? Don't you like me? You were the one who hinted at me first!"

"ah?"

Chen Ci was dumbfounded and said with a puzzled look: "Classmate, have you misunderstood something? I don't know you at all, and I haven't even seen you before. When did I hint to you?"

Upon hearing this, Hao Penghui said with a righteous look, "It's about that scholarship. The teacher said you offered it to me. If you don't like me, why would you give it to me?"

Chen Ci: ...

So your good grades are because you put all your brain into studying, right?

She never expected that the culprit of this misunderstanding was the scholarship she had voluntarily given up.

"Student, you really misunderstood. I voluntarily gave up the scholarship for personal reasons. It has nothing to do with you. Even if the teacher gave you the extra spot after I gave up, it wasn't my manipulation."

"Is it possible that the teacher gave you this spot just because you have good grades and meet the requirements?"

"Impossible!" Hao Penghui shook his head firmly. "I applied for a scholarship last year and didn't get one. I only got this one because you gave it to me!"

"I gave up this spot voluntarily, not because I want to give it to you. It doesn't matter to me who the teacher gives it to!"

"But if you hadn't given up, there wouldn't be this spot, and I wouldn't have gotten it!"

Chen Ci: ...

Okay, the thinking process of mathematics majors is very unique, and their logical thinking is always so "irrational", right?

Chen Ci decided to give up arguing with him about the cause and effect relationship, and mustered up the courage to speak directly and clearly: "In short, I don't know you. The school decides who gets the scholarship. I have no right to interfere, so there is no such thing as hinting at you or liking you."

"Your recent behavior has caused me great distress, so I beg you to stop, okay?"

This sentence was already very straightforward. Shen Ci believed that as long as one could understand human language, he would understand what she meant.

As a result, Hao Penghui glared and said, "Then why don't you like me?"

Chen Ci almost laughed out of anger. She looked at the person in front of her and really wanted to burst out, "Do I need a reason to dislike you? Because you don't wash your hair? Because you don't change your pants? Because you smell like damp rot?"

Her patience ran out, and she instantly lost the desire to communicate with the other party. She sighed helplessly: "I have made my words very clear. If you still don't understand, then there is nothing I can do."

After saying that, she turned sideways and tried to leave, but the other party blocked her way.

Chen Ci had to take a step back to keep a distance from the other party, but he didn't expect that at this time a basketball flew from the side and hit Hao Penghui's head accurately with a "bang".

Hao Penghui staggered and almost fell.

Chen Ci turned around in surprise and saw Qu Yang jogging towards him. He glared at Hao Penghui and asked, "What are you doing?"

Faced with the sudden appearance of Qu Yang, Hao Penghui was visibly timid. He looked around evasively but did not dare to answer Qu Yang.

Seeing his cowardly look, Qu Yang was too lazy to talk to him. He turned his head to look at Chen Ci and asked, "Are you okay?"

Chen Ci shook her head with gratitude. If Qu Yang hadn't suddenly appeared, she would have used her cell phone to call Director Li for help.

"Get out of here now and stay away from her!" Qu Yang scolded Hao Penghui.

Hao Penghui lowered his head and didn't dare to make a sound. He turned around and ran away after hearing this. Shen Ci immediately breathed a sigh of relief when he saw this.

She was really afraid that the other party would force physical contact with her when he got excited. The thought of it made her scalp tingle and she felt nauseous.

"Thank you. I still have to go to the principal's office. I'll thank you later." Chen Ci's expression returned to normal, and he waved goodbye to Qu Yang and was about to leave.

"I'll take you there." Qu Yang mustered up the courage to speak. Seeing Chen Ci looking at him, he said in a panic, "I don't know if that person just now has gone far."

"They're still waiting for you to play."

Chen Ci looked at the dozen or so boys gathered on the basketball court not far away. They were obviously waiting for Qu Yang.

As a result, when they saw Chen Ci looking over, the boys excitedly cheered and whistled, obviously teasing Chen Ci and Qu Yang.

"It's okay, I'll be back after I drop you off."

After saying this, without waiting for Shen Ci to object, he picked up the basketball that had rolled on the ground and threw it directly towards the basketball court, walking forward one step ahead of Shen Ci.

Seeing this, Shen Ci had no choice but to follow.

The boys' laughter could be heard again from behind.

Qu Yang remained silent along the way, as if he had been silenced. Although he had long legs and took big steps, he deliberately slowed down his pace and only walked a little ahead of Shen Ci.

Chen Ci looked at his back. There was a faint sheen of water on the short stubble at the back of his head. He walked for about ten minutes before he stopped and turned around.

"We're here, go up."

"Sorry for bothering you, thank you." Shen Ci said.

Qu Yang didn't say anything else, but followed Shen Ci with his eyes until she entered the administrative building.

She went all the way to the top floor. Before she reached the door of the principal's office, Shen Ci vaguely heard a manic and sharp voice. Director Li had secretly sent her a message about the specific situation, so she knocked on the door of the principal's office when she got outside.

The sound inside stopped abruptly, and then the door opened. The person who opened the door was Li Jianguo.

Seeing that it was Shen Ci who came, Li Jianguo gave her a "very troublesome" look, and when Shen Ci came in, he whispered beside her: "Talk less, don't worry, there is a teacher."

Chen Ci gave him a grateful smile, then walked into the principal's office with neither servility nor arrogance. He ignored Li's mother, who was furious and wanted to crush her to ashes with her eyes, and greeted the principal and the director of the teaching department: "Principal, Director Sun, I'm here!"
