He glanced at the two enormous iron cages inside the garage, and the slumbering beasts inside.
A look of horror unconsciously appeared in Yu Dalong's eyes.
She turned her gaze back to Liu Kai, forcing a smile.
"It's been a long time since I've seen Consultant Liu."
"You'd better not call me 'advisor' anymore, it sounds weird."
"That's really strange, Brother Liu. You've been disappearing without a trace lately. Secretary Qin wanted to see you before she left but couldn't find you."
Liu Kai waved his hand and said, "There's nothing to say if we meet, we'll just run into each other again anyway."
Upon hearing this, Yu Dalong narrowed his eyes and uttered a nonsensical remark in a low voice.
"In the future? I'm afraid the chances are slim."
"Oh? What do you mean?"
"Binary..."
Upon hearing this, a glint of light flashed in Liu Kai's eyes.
He looked at Yu Dalong with a scrutinizing gaze, unconsciously lowering his voice.
"Did you engrave the numbers on the gold bars, and did you put them on the USB drive?"
"I engraved the numbers myself, and I'm the one who put the gold bars here, but what about the USB drive?"
"It's nothing," Liu Kai quickly changed the subject. "So, you also know about Secretary Qin's investigation?"
Yu Dalong said with a serious expression: "I know a little, but I don't think Staff Officer Zhong has any problems."
"How so?"
“You have access rights. Just look at Staff Officer Zhong’s file and you’ll understand. He’s just a bit conservative and ‘prudent’ by nature. He’s not inactive, and he’s certainly not the kind of person Secretary Qin thinks he is…an umbrella.”
"So, you think the problem lies with the higher-ups? Have you spoken with Secretary Qin about it?"
Yu Dalong nodded, but then shook his head.
