Chapter 1 Rebirth

A huge explosion rang out, and Xiao Jin felt everything go black. Pain surged through her body, making her feel like she was dying.

When she regained consciousness, the pain seemed to linger in her body, causing Xiao Jin's body to tremble slightly.

Liu Man, who was standing to the side, saw this and a hint of smugness flashed in her eyes, but she remained calm and continued to pretend to be worried as she spoke to Xiao Chengzhi beside her.

“Chengzhi, don’t be angry. Xiaojin is still young, and it’s normal for her to make mistakes. If No. 1 Middle School doesn’t work out, we can try another one. My cousin works at No. 3 Middle School. I’ll ask him how to transfer Xiaojin there.”

Xiao Chengzhi glared at Xiao Jin, his eyes seemingly looking at some kind of trash, and snorted coldly: "Little one, tell me how many times he's gotten into fights."

Just like his mother, he's a real handful. He's made me lose all face!" Xiao Chengzhi's tone was filled with undisguised disgust.

Upon hearing Xiao Chengzhi's words, Liu Man glanced at Xiao Jin without leaving a trace, a subtle smile playing on her lips, and a hint of mockery in her eyes.

Xiao Chengzhi looked at Xiao Jin coldly: "If you don't want to study, then don't. Tomorrow you'd better pack your things and go back to the countryside."

"Chengzhi!!" Liu Man covered her mouth in disbelief.

She turned to Xiao Jin with a look of great anxiety on her face and said, "Quickly, Xiao Jin, apologize to your father."

Wrong? What apology? Fighting? Who? Me?

While battling the mental pain, Xiao Jin tried her best to analyze what she heard.

fight?

She never liked fighting; when she encountered trouble, she would simply kill it.

Besides, wasn't she already dead? She clearly remembered that she had perished together with the zombie king during the defense of the base, detonating the superpower core. Logically, there shouldn't even be a corpse left.

The next second, a flood of memories that didn't belong to Xiao Jin rushed into her mind.

However, Xiao Jin's doubts and silence were seen by Xiao Chengzhi as a sign of her unrepentance, and Xiao Chengzhi's anger surged.

He waved his hand dismissively: "There's no need for him to admit his mistake. He has to go back today no matter what. Isn't he being tough? We don't need to send him living expenses anymore. Let's see how he can survive without the Xiao family!"

It's safe!

Liu Man's eyes lit up, and she could barely suppress the smile on her face.

She squinted at Xiao Jin.

Ha, what ability does a worthless bastard who has lost his mother and his maternal grandparents have to compete with his own son? She can kick him out of the Xiao family with just a little effort.

The two watched coldly, preparing to see Xiao Jin plead with tears streaming down his face. As a child who had grown up in a wealthy and powerful family, he couldn't possibly be unaware of what Xiao Chengzhi's words meant.

Unexpectedly, the next second, Xiao Jin suddenly raised her head and glanced at the two of them. Just one glance made them forget everything. Their consciousness was instantly invaded by ice, and they felt as if they had been thrown into a bottomless black hole.

Xiao Jin was busy processing the complex memories that suddenly appeared in her mind, so she had no time to care about what others were saying. However, Xiao Jin disliked the tone of these two people's voices. You should know that since Xiao Jin became the number one person in the apocalypse, it has been a long time since anyone dared to speak to her like that.

She raised her head, straightening her previously hunched back, and stared at Xiao Chengzhi and the other man with her dark eyes. Her icy killing intent, mixed with a hint of indifference towards humanity, instantly froze the two men.

Xiao Jin uttered a few words indifferently: "Shut up, you're so annoying!"

The magnetic voice, neither clearly male nor female, was slightly hoarse with impatience. Xiao Jin's tone was cold and indifferent, yet also contained a warning. His dark eyes seemed to lead to the abyss of hell.

Xiao Jin immediately got up and left the living room, opened the door, and strode out.

The living room was deathly silent. At some point, the suffocating heaviness gradually disappeared, and the two terrified people finally regained their senses.

Realizing he had been frightened by Xiao Jin, Xiao Chengzhi, the undisputed patriarch of the family, instantly turned bright red.

"This...this...bastard!"

Seemingly to cover up his earlier cowardice, Xiao Chengzhi pointed at Liu Man beside him and roared, "Look at the wicked child you raised! How dare he talk back to his elders! I'm warning you, don't you dare secretly give him money!"

"From now on, we, the Xiao family, will pretend that this person never existed!" With that, he left angrily.

Liu Man, who was standing to the side, was still a little dazed, seemingly not having recovered from Xiao Jin's attitude just now. When she heard Xiao Chengzhi's words, she just nodded subconsciously.

She stared at the wide-open doorway.

Xiao Jin... seems a little different!

——

After a brief process, Xiao Jin had completely absorbed the memories in her mind, and she was utterly shocked when she came to her senses.

She was reborn, reborn into a safe world.

There are no zombies, no natural disasters, and no countless killings here.

Xiao Jin looked up, squinting at the sun above, which was at a comfortable temperature. All she could hear was people talking and laughing, without any sense of wariness or deception.

The stench that reached my nose was not foul, but the fragrance of grass, trees and flowers. There was lush greenery everywhere, no ruins or rotting, writhing zombies that seemed to covet me.

People passing by looked at Xiao Jin, who was standing to the side in a daze, with strange expressions on their faces.

Is this person stupid? Standing in the sun in the middle of summer, aren't they afraid of getting sunburned?

Ten years!

Xiao Jin had occasionally wondered what the world would be like if it returned to what it was like before the apocalypse, but she never imagined that one day she would actually be able to see it again.

Sniffed and then suddenly opened her eyes.

She was an orphan, and ten years of living in the apocalypse had almost completely erased her emotions. The scene in the living room just now was nothing more than a farce that Xiao Jin couldn't even be proud of!

She didn't care at all about the original owner's so-called 'parents' thoughts.

It was quite a coincidence, though.

Xiao Jin turned her head and carefully observed her current appearance through the glass in front of her.

He was about 1.75 meters tall, with messy short hair falling in front of his eyes, interspersed with strands of bleached silver-white hair. Below was an androgynous face with red lips, white teeth, distinct features, and thick, ink-black eyebrows.

It was a face that could make anyone's heart flutter at first glance, but Xiao Jin's cold expression and the numbness and lifelessness hidden deep in his eyes deterred them.

Everyone who passed by Xiao Jin felt their hair stand on end and hurried away as if their territory had been invaded by a wild beast.

Xiao Jin was wearing a dark leather jacket, black cargo pants that accentuated her incredibly long legs, and a pair of Martin boots. If she had a cigarette in her mouth, she would definitely look like a delinquent.

As for why it was a coincidence, Xiao Jin looked up and realized that this Xiao Jin, just like her in her previous life, was outwardly identified as a man.
