Chapter 102 The Supernatural Dungeon Begins: Linhai High School

With this holy water, at least Xiao Jin no longer has to worry about something suddenly taking over her body. She can't exactly slash herself with a knife, can she?

As for holy water, it comes in not only blue, but also white, purple, and gold.

The white holy water only has the effect of relieving mental stress, while the purple one is too high-end and expensive, so Xiao Jin felt that she didn't need it for the time being.

Xiao Jin bought three bottles of blue holy water, which cost 150 points each, and five bottles of white holy water, which cost 20 points each.

Another type is a talisman, the Obsidian Ring, a blue item worth 200 points. It automatically protects its owner when attacked.

If a vengeful ghost approaches Xiao Jin, the Obsidian Ring will heat up, alerting her to be wary of her surroundings. The more powerful the ghost, the hotter the ring will become.

If Xiao Jin doesn't have time to react, the ring can automatically protect her, giving her a chance to catch her breath and fight back.

...

Time flies, and it's almost time for the next game.

[Beep! Signal implantation complete, star anchor point confirmation in progress]

[Anchor point confirmed, preparing to teleport...]

The survival game is about to begin. We wish all players a pleasant gaming experience.

[World loading...]

[Type: Supernatural]

Main Quest: Survive for 14 days, Reward: 500 points

[WARNING: Players must conceal their identity and must not reveal the content of the trial game to the natives. Violators will have points deducted.]

[The game has officially begun]

Suddenly, Xiao Jin's eyes lit up. When she turned to look at her surroundings, she found herself sitting in a classroom.

Upon receiving the notification from the memory system, Xiao Jin clicked his tongue in amazement.

Wow! It really is a supernatural game.

I don't know if it's too difficult, but this time the score for passing the level has become 500, and there's also a time limit. Why is it taking so long?

At this moment, Xiao Jin was cursing under her breath, unaware that the other players had the same thought as her.

Supernatural?

The mere mention of ghosts sends chills down the spines of everyone from burly men to uninhibited Young Pioneers.

As the countdown ended, Xiao Jin habitually observed her surroundings. The classroom was somewhat dilapidated, and the air was filled with a complex atmosphere of old books and unknown fears.

There were about thirty seats in the middle, all of which were occupied. Upon closer inspection, some of the people were sitting quietly with their heads down, wearing blue and black school uniforms; they were probably NPCs.

As for the others, those of all ages and wearing all sorts of clothes, they must be the players.

This was the first time Xiao Jin had ever seen so many players upon entering the game—about twenty in total. Many of them were whispering among themselves, clearly shocked by the game.

Immediately afterwards, the classroom door was slowly pushed open, and a dark figure, accompanied by the creaking of the door hinges, slowly stepped into this quiet, suffocating space.

The woman was dressed in a black suit, and her presence seemed to deepen the gloom around them. Her glasses reflected a faint light, shimmering with an eerie glow, while the eyes behind the lenses were like bottomless, icy pools.

Even more horrifying was the woman's unnatural bluish-purple complexion, resembling a withered tree that had never seen the light of day, revealing a sickly appearance.

Xiao Jin and the others' gazes inadvertently swept over her neck, where her pale skin was covered with irregular patches of lividity and dense stitches.

The woman's face was stiff, a chilling smirk curling at the corner of her mouth. Her murderous eyes swept over the crowd, as if she were looking through them at something amusing.

Just then, a crisp system notification sound rang in their ears, startling all the players.

[Ding—Side Quest Activated: Successfully passed the entrance exam, reward 100 points]

This sudden announcement was like a chilling blast of ice, making everyone's hearts tighten and a sense of foreboding arise spontaneously.

Holy crap!!

Are we even alive?! Are we even going to live?! System, you might as well just kill us all, that would save you trouble!

Exams? I graduated eight hundred years ago, what am I supposed to take? With my 'good grades' of two digits in each subject, the highest being no more than five?

The players were cursing under their breath.

We're all adults now, who still remembers the knowledge from those books?

Among the players were a few who were quite young and looked like students. The players sitting around them stared at them with expressions that said, "You are my second parents."

Young gamers are under immense pressure.

With a deep and powerful sound, the woman in front slammed the stack of test papers she was holding onto the podium. The huge impact made the podium tremble slightly and made every player present tense up.

"Welcome to Linjiang High School." The woman's voice was low and cold: "Since you have all received your admission notices, it means that you are all talents carefully selected by the principal."

"I am your proctor. We are now conducting the entrance exam. I hope you will all pass and be able to study at the school."

As she finished speaking, the classroom fell into a deathly silence, with only the occasional sound of the wind drifting past the window.

The teacher's voice echoed in the empty classroom, each word like a heavy hammer blow, leaving everyone breathless.

The moment the words left his mouth, the air seemed to freeze for a split second, the tension almost palpable. Just then, a male player mustered his courage and asked, "What if... what happens if I fail?"

This question, like a pebble thrown into a calm lake, instantly stirred up a thousand ripples.
