Chapter 26 The Thief

As soon as the light curtain disappeared, Xiao Jin strode towards the large supermarket closest to Longjiang University.

Xiao Jin decided to buy supplies first. Although she had a spatial ability, she couldn't easily use the food inside.

These two games provided them with the opportunity to collect resources. But what if one day the system dumps the player in some godforsaken place, or sets up barriers to resource collection? Then the items in Xiao Jin's space would come in very handy.

Another issue is that Xiao Jin needs to consume supplies when she returns to the train, but the supplies in the shop require points.

Xiao Jin had too many items she coveted, and ordinary food wasn't enough for her to waste points on buying. So, in each world, she would try to stock up on supplies whenever possible.

Having found her way to the supermarket, Xiao Jin had only taken a few steps when she suddenly felt a heavy drop fall on her hair.

Xiao Jin paused subconsciously, and her expression turned ugly.

How could it be so fast!

But Xiao Jin immediately sensed something was wrong.

Wait a minute, this rain seems to be just ordinary rainwater, not acid rain.

Reaching out to catch the falling raindrops, Xiao Jin felt no burning sensation on her skin, and when she brought her hand to her nose, there was no pungent smell.

"Phew..." Xiao Jin relaxed: "I told you it couldn't be this fast."

Upon arriving at the supermarket, Xiao Jin skillfully pushed two shopping carts, buying whatever she was interested in, regardless of what she was buying.

Soon both large carts were full. Xiao Jin, holding her phone, queued to pay and bumped into a player. The player was a young girl who seemed a little nervous, standing anxiously in the queue with a pale face.

Seeing Xiao Jin also pushing a cart full of supplies made her happy. After thinking for a moment, she came over. When she got closer and saw Xiao Jin's appearance, a blush immediately appeared on her face.

She asked hesitantly, "Um... you're a player too, right?"

Xiao Jin glanced at the girl without saying a word, his cold expression making the girl's expression stiffen.

"I...I didn't mean any harm." The girl quickly waved her hand: "I just thought that since we're all players, our survival rate would be higher if we could stay together."

"And I ran into a few other players when I arrived; they went off to buy supplies! Do you want to join us?"

Xiao Jin noticed the girl's nervousness: "I'm sorry, I'm used to being alone."

"I see!" The girl was a little disappointed, but she didn't linger and pushed the cart away. As she left, her gaze as she looked back at Xiao Jin was full of reluctance.

What a pity, we couldn't bring this handsome young man home!

Xiao Jin quickly reached the front of the line. She scanned her phone and saw that she had 2480.6 yuan left. This time, the system had given her 3,000 yuan.

Very good, that's a thousand more than in the previous world, but it's still a drop in the bucket when it comes to the supplies Xiao Jin wants to buy.

After leaving the supermarket and storing the supplies in her spatial storage, Xiao Jin followed the same procedure as before and visited all the supermarkets, big and small, around Longjiang University.

Along the way, we found some restaurants that interested us and even packed up quite a few ready-made meals.

After leisurely strolling around all afternoon, Xiao Jin held a cup of milk tea in her left hand and a serving of egg waffles in her other hand. Anyone who didn't know her would think she was on vacation in a game!

"Bang!"

"Help! Thief!"

"Hmm?" Xiao Jin tilted her head, slurping the pearls as she looked towards the commotion on her left.

A group of people were gathered in the distance, and it seemed that someone was fighting.

Xiao Jinyi had an idea and suddenly wanted to join in the fun. Standing behind the crowd, she easily saw what was going on inside by leaning against her long legs. With the help of the people around her, she quickly learned most of the details.

In front of me is a barbecue stall. The night market is bustling with customers. In addition to the endless stream of mobile vendors on both sides, most of the shops have plastic tables and chairs set up outside.

Night markets are crowded and noisy places, and thieves and pickpockets are frequent visitors.

Here's what happened: A woman in her thirties was sitting at a food stall drinking and eating when a thief stole her phone and bag.

However, this thief may not have mastered the skills, as he was caught red-handed by the woman and her companion, which really stirred up a hornet's nest.

The thief not only got beaten up, but the other party also called the police.

The police arrived shortly afterward. Seeing the thieves sitting on the ground, bruised and swollen, crying, they felt a bit sorry for them and simply waved their hands, taking them all away!

Upon hearing that they were going to the police station, the thief let out a shout and jumped up, swinging his handcuffs as he tried to run away, but was quickly pinned to the ground by a swift policeman.

"You still dare to run!" the policeman shouted sternly.

The thief cried as if his parents had died: "Waaah, I don't want to go to the police station, I don't want to go, I don't want to die!"

The veins on the policeman's forehead were throbbing wildly as the thief almost wiped his snot on his uniform.

Hearing this, his face darkened immediately: "What nonsense are you talking about? Who would want you to die? We are a legitimate law enforcement agency. What do you take us for, the mafia?"

The victim glared at the thief and said, "Dream on! I finally got a break from working overtime to relax, and now I have to go to the police station with you. I haven't even said anything yet! What are you crying about?"

"Pah! What bad luck!"

The police then tried to pull the thief into the police car, but the thief struggled even more violently.

"Ah, I'm not going, I don't want to die, I haven't finished buying my things yet, I'm not a thief... I just... I just want to borrow some money from you."

At this point, the thief realized his explanation sounded like a joke, and immediately added to the woman in a mysterious tone, "Well, believe me, this world is about to end, and then no matter how much money you have, it won't be of any use."

"Lend it to me, and I promise to save your life!"

It would have been better if he hadn't explained; once he did, even the onlookers who were watching the thief from the sidelines started to look at him strangely. Could this guy be mentally ill?

Xiao Jin, who was watching with great interest from the crowd, blinked and then gave the thief a look that said, "Warrior!"

There really are players planning to sneak in through empty doors!

However, he is not himself, and the police and the owner of the lost property are not Chen Kai. He might not be able to use the acid rain issue as leverage so easily.

Sure enough, the woman over there looked like she'd eaten shit.

"Get lost! You dare to lie to me again? You want to borrow money? Do you think I'm stupid?!"

The police were getting impatient. The thief's words were no different from those of a scammer on the phone. Two officers grabbed the thief's arms and, without saying a word, dragged him toward the police car.

Then, using both hands and feet, they quickly shoved the person into the police car and sped away.

After the crowd dispersed, Xiao Jin walked around the night market several times and bought a lot of snacks. She only stopped buying things when her phone kept ringing.

It's no use continuing now; Xiao Jin has basically spent all three thousand yuan she has.
