Luo Bin thought Tong Xiaolu's concerns were valid, and after thinking about it, he decided to go to the principal's office himself.
The Ghost Doctor is being held up by Cui Mingyang and won't be back for a while. The doctor's office is relatively safe, but the principal's office might be a different story.
Although Luo Bin is carefree, he can't be so heartless as to put a minor girl in danger.
"Then I'll be in charge of the principal's office!"
The two had no objections, so they decided to go their separate ways.
Tong Xiaolu quickly found the doctor's office; from a distance, she could see the door wide open.
Before she even went inside, a pungent smell of blood filled her nostrils.
Tong Xiaolu had a vague idea in her mind. She quietly approached and peeked inside. Sure enough, she saw some mangled limbs on the office floor.
Not far away, Tong Xiaolu's eyes met those of a human head.
She remembered this person; his name seemed to be Wang Ze. He had gone to the second floor, but she didn't know why he ended up here and died so tragically.
However, apart from that, there were no other evil spirits inside. Tong Xiaolu was very brave and carefully checked everything.
Surprisingly, she actually found the item.
It was a part that had been split in two, hidden in the drawer, and it was still glowing faintly.
The moment she got it, a notification appeared in Tong Xiaolu's mind: [Ding—Obtained Archives Key (1/2)]
Yes, there really is!
Tong Xiaolu jumped up happily.
Although it was slightly different from what I expected, who would have thought there were two keys! I figured the other one should be in the dean's office!
………………
At the same time, Luo Bin had already arrived at the door of the dean's office.
Sensing the ever-present sense of crisis creeping into his heart, Luo Bin took a deep breath.
He didn't rush in, but quietly opened the door a crack. The next second, the scene inside shocked him.
Behind that half-open door, a large lump of meat of unknown origin was coiled in a twisted posture.
The chunk of flesh had no fixed shape; its edges were blurred and bloated, as if it were being constantly kneaded and pulled by an invisible force, presenting a bizarre state that belonged neither to life nor death.
An indescribable stench permeated the air, a mixture of putrefaction and the fishy smell of unknown substances, assaulting the limits of one's senses.
A sticky, unidentified liquid slowly flowed from the surface of the meat, meandering along the cracks in the floor, eventually converging into thin, black rivers that filled the entire room.
What's even more unsettling is that the seemingly lifeless mass of flesh appears to be alive. Like a heart, it rises and falls with an indescribable rhythm.
Each rise and fall was accompanied by a low, sticky sound.
Luo Bin watched, barely daring to breathe loudly, for fear of disturbing the monster inside.
But then his eyes widened and a look of joy flashed across his face. Right in the very center of the flesh, something seemed to be wrapped inside, emitting a faint light.
A key? It must be a key!
But Luo Bin was immediately stumped. How could he get the key inside without disturbing the meat?
After thinking for a moment, Luo Bin suddenly clenched his fist, then pulled a cloak out of his backpack and wrapped himself up tightly.
This is a cloak of concealment, which is gently draped over Robin's shoulders to minimize the chances of him being discovered.
Luo Bin then activated the cloak's skill, and at that moment, he seemed to blend into the surrounding darkness, his presence almost completely reduced.
Luo Bin cautiously stepped into the eerie office ahead, his feet sinking into a slimy, sticky substance, each step accompanied by a chilling creaking sound.
The stench emanating from the slime was almost suffocating. Finally, he arrived at the center of the office.
Looking up slightly, Luo Bin could see a strangely shaped key lying quietly in front of him, emitting a faint light, inside the body of that enormous creature.
Luo Bin's gaze was fixed on the key, his throat involuntarily bobbing as he swallowed a mouthful of saliva secreted due to nervousness.
He took a deep breath, trying to calm his heartbeat, and then slowly extended his hand, which was almost invisible under the cloak, and approached little by little.
When his fingertips finally touched the cold key, an indescribable sense of excitement welled up inside him, but it was immediately replaced by a deep fear.
What if... what if this is just a trap?
Luo Bin stopped, his guard at its highest.
However, the surroundings remained deathly silent, and nothing unusual happened.
Luo Bin had no choice but to suppress the panic in his heart, ignore the nauseating sticky feeling in his hand, and tightly grip the key in his hand.
After succeeding, he didn't stop for a moment. His body was tense as he slowly retreated until he was at a safe distance. Then he suddenly turned around and ran out of the dean's office with all his might.
After coming out, Luo Bin leaned against the wall, his heart pounding like a drum. He was panting heavily, his eyes filled with lingering fear.
Thank goodness! Thank goodness! We got the key.
He glanced back again, and seeing that the monster inside made no move, he quickly and quietly closed the door and left.
…………
The two met at the entrance of the archives room.
"So, did you get the key?" Tong Xiaolu asked.
“Got it.” Luo Bin raised his hand, gesturing for her to look over.
Tong Xiaolu quickly took out her half of the key and placed it together with Luo Bin's half. In a flash of light, the two keys merged into one.
