Chapter 319 Accelerated Timeline

"We're here, this is it." The old man opened the two doors and handed the key to Xiaoyu.

"Please get ready first. The residents of the building will be holding a party tonight to welcome the new residents. We hope you can come."

"A party! I love lively gatherings," Xiaomei said with a smile. "Don't worry, we'll definitely be there."

When Xiaoyu saw the old man off, she said, "Thank you very much. It's a good opportunity for us to get to know each other."

After the old man left, everyone discussed how to divide the rooms.

There are two rooms, and with the NPCs, there are a total of fifteen people. Each room needs to sleep at least seven people.

They've checked them out; both rooms have the same layout: two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom. Most of the hard and soft furnishings are included, so they're ready to move in immediately.

However, they will have to prepare some daily necessities themselves.

Fortunately, before coming, the group was prepared to camp on the wasteland if they couldn't get in. So they had everything they needed: tents, food, and supplies, so they didn't have to worry about anything for the time being.

Xiao Jin and the other five are definitely going to be together; the other players can also tell that they are a team.

Before the rooms were assigned, Xiao Jin whispered something to Xu Qing. Although Xu Qing was a little surprised, she still took the initiative to ask to live with the three NPCs.

Of course, this was said to Xiao Shuai.

As for Xiaoyu and Xiaomei, Cui Mingyang told them that he wanted them to take care of Tong Xiaolu.

Heaven knows a minor has slipped into this crowd, and these NPCs aren't surprised at all!

Xiaoyu and Xiaomei readily agreed. After all, they weren't really there to rent a place; they just needed a place to sleep on the floor.

There are two bedrooms. The master bedroom is for the three girls, and the second bedroom was originally intended for Xiao Jin and Xiao Shuai, but Xiao Jin said she would stay in the living room to keep watch.

So Luo Bin ended up living with Xiao Shuai, while the other three slept in the living room.

The sofa here is quite big. Xu Qing tidied it up and knew that Xiao Jin might not like to be too close to them, so he and Cui Mingyang could just sleep on the floor.

While the NPCs were packing their things, Xiao Jin explained why she wanted to stay with them.

"This is a movie world, so the main character shouldn't die, but there can be unexpected events."

Xiao Jin looked at Tong Xiaolu and Luo Bin: "I'm entrusting the person to you for protection. After all, no one knows whether the movie world will still exist if the protagonist dies."

"Is it that serious?"

Even if they hadn't thought of it before, after Xiao Jin's explanation, they finally understood what she was thinking.

After thinking for a moment, Xu Qing also said, "No wonder there are 12 players in a movie. I was wondering if that was too many."

Xu Qing threw off the blanket and sat down on the ground: "So they were planning to make us protect the NPCs."

Xiao Jin leaned back on the sofa: "I don't trust them. It's best if they're under my watchful eye." She was referring to the people next door.

Everyone nodded.

That makes sense. Regardless of the skill level of the remaining seven players, it's better to keep an eye on things that concern their lives.

After they finished tidying up, they were about to look for clues in the surrounding area when suddenly everything went black.

They were startled, thinking a vengeful ghost had attacked, and tried to take out their props to fight back, but they couldn't move at all.

What's going on?

Xiao Jin frowned and tried to mobilize his mental energy, but it didn't work.

Then they tried using superpowers, but it still didn't work.

Just as everyone was stunned, several bright red words suddenly appeared in their minds: "Eve of the Party".

Immediately afterwards, the surrounding darkness receded like a tide, replaced by the dim yellow light overhead.

It seems to have been used for quite some time; the light is dim, and everything inside appears blurry in the insufficient light.

The mottled marks on the walls and the dust piled up in the corners are faintly visible in the dim light, creating a repressive and eerie atmosphere.

The group was finally able to move. They looked at each other and turned to look out the window, where daylight had turned into night.

Seeing that there was no danger, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, but just to be on the safe side, Luo Bin still went to the bedroom to check on the three NPCs.

The door was open, and Xiaomei and Xiaoyu were discussing what questions to ask at the party later, while Xiaoshuai was still playing with the camera in his hand.

Seeing this, Luo Bin stepped back and nodded to Xiao Jin.

Xu Qing raised an eyebrow: "So that's how it is... How interesting."

Combining the words in my mind, things are now quite clear, and the questions that everyone discussed before entering the building have been answered.

It turns out that some useless scenes in the movie can be skipped, so players don't have to experience them themselves, which saves a lot of time.

'Knock knock knock~'

Just then, a knock came at the door.

Xiao Jin and the others exchanged glances, already knowing who had come. Luo Bin, who was closer, went to open the door, and sure enough, it was another player from a different room.

Li Qi still had lingering shock in her eyes, but breathed a sigh of relief when she saw the unharmed people in the living room: "That scared me to death. I thought the timeline had suddenly sped up and something had happened to you guys."

That's enough time for them to realize the importance of NPCs.

However, Li Qi was thinking about another aspect: the players who stayed close to the protagonist would definitely be the focus of the vengeful ghost's attention.

Looking at it this way, it's probably best to get rid of these hot potatoes.

The girl with the twin ponytails on the other side reached out and pushed Li Qi aside, stepping forward to ask directly, "How is it? Is the NPC alright...?"
