Chapter 431 Elevator Horror

After all, he wasn't stupid. After a moment of stunned silence, he quickly remembered the ghost story he had just read.

A young man selling helmets met a beautiful female customer. She asked him which helmet was sturdier and then bought the one he recommended.

As a result, the young man ran over someone's neck on his way home from get off work. When he went to check, he found that it was the beautiful female customer who had come to buy a helmet that afternoon.

Just as the young man was about to break down, the human head laughed: "The helmet is indeed very sturdy."

"This...this is impossible!" Xiao Bin was terrified and turned to run away. However, the severed head followed him, laughing and gurgling.

"Don't come any closer! Don't come any closer!" Xiao Bin shouted and took off running. However, no matter how fast he ran, the head kept following behind him, and the laughter grew closer and closer.

"Boss... the helmet... is very sturdy..." The head's voice was low and hoarse, as if it came from hell.

Xiao Bin was panting heavily as he ran; the severed head had been following him for a long time.

It was clear that it could catch up quickly, but it always seemed to be toying with him, frequently giving Xiao Bin time to catch his breath.

Finally, after several minutes of chasing, Xiao Bin's fear subsided considerably, replaced by suppressed anger, and he abruptly stopped.

"Damn it, you think you're so great!" Xiao Bin gritted his teeth, turned around, pulled out his prop, and charged straight at the crowd.

The mocking smile on the man's face suddenly froze, and then a fist the size of a sandbag slammed heavily toward him.

The result was completely unexpected.

The head was easily shattered by Xiao Bin's punch, turning into a wisp of black smoke and dissipating into the air.

Xiao Bin was stunned for a moment, then felt a wave of dizziness. When he opened his eyes again, he was back at his workstation.

"Huff~ Huff~" Xiao Bin's breathing was still a little rapid, which was particularly clear in the quiet office.

He looked up and saw that Xiao Jin and the others were almost finished with their work, and his face immediately turned colorful.

Xiao Bin didn't know if he was the only unlucky one who got dragged into the ghost story, or if these people were smart enough to see through the illusion's vulnerability before he did.

But no matter which of these two situations occurred, Xiao Bin was unhappy.

He gritted his teeth, not wanting to speak or pay attention to anyone else, and quickly lowered his head to start typing frantically.

………………

At 3:30 a.m., Xiao Bin finally typed the last character.

His forehead was covered in cold sweat, but thankfully the work was finally finished.

On the other side, Xiao Jin and the others had finished printing their work documents. The printer made a "buzzing" sound as it spat out the last report.

"Let's go, to the 44th floor." Zhan Wenzhen pushed up his glasses, his tone calm.

Everyone nodded, but the players had some disagreements about which way to go upstairs.

Previously, when they went up to the 34th floor, they took the stairs because the elevator wasn't working properly. But this time, as soon as Cui Mingyang came out, he found that the elevator was actually working.

Xiao Bin, Wang Zhongyan, and Wang Bing stood at the entrance to the stairwell, clearly intending to continue down the stairs. Nie Shuangshuang leaned against the wall, her spear tapping lightly on the ground, seemingly hesitant as well.

“I’ll take the stairs,” Nie Shuangshuang suddenly said after a moment.

Xiao Jin didn't say much, only gave her a brief glance.

"Whatever you want." Zhan Wenzhen shrugged and turned to press the elevator button.

There's no need to persuade them, and there's no need to persuade them. We're all veteran players, and we'll take responsibility for our choices.

Elevators aren't always safe, but stairs aren't much better!

It all depends on the individual's opinion.

The elevator doors slowly opened, revealing that the elevator was empty.

Xiao Jin, Zhan Wenchen, Cui Mingyang, and Xu Qing went inside. The moment the elevator doors closed, everyone could feel the surrounding temperature suddenly drop significantly.

Press the button for the 44th floor, and the elevator will start moving suddenly.

"Aren't you afraid?" Zhan Wenzhen, who was standing in front, suddenly asked, his tone slightly teasing.

Xu Qing sneered and retorted, "Aren't you afraid too?"

Zhan Wenzhen chuckled softly but did not reply.

His gaze swept across the elevator's display screen, where numbers were rapidly changing: 34, 36, 40...

"bite--"

Just then, the elevator suddenly stopped, and the number on the display screen froze at "44," but the elevator doors did not open.

"What's going on?" Xu Qing asked, frowning, his fingers rapidly pressing the elevator buttons, but there was no response.

"It seems we're trapped." Zhan Wenchen's gaze swept over every corner of the elevator.

Suddenly, the lights in the elevator flickered, and a faint musty smell filled the air. Xiao Jin's gaze swept across the reflection in the elevator door and suddenly spotted a familiar figure.

“That is…” she blinked.

How could I not be familiar with it!

In the reflection of the elevator door, a girl in a white nightgown was standing behind her.

The girl's arm was completely broken, and there was a noticeable gap in her head; she was the female ghost from the previous "cohabitation" ghost story.

At this moment, the female ghost stared at Xiao Jin with venomous eyes. Her figure appeared and disappeared in the flickering lights, and each time the lights came on, the female ghost's figure became clearer.

Her severed arm swung in the air, and black liquid seeped from the gap in her head, dripping onto the floor with a sizzling sound.

"Huh?" Xiao Jin's lips twitched. Who was this guy trying to scare?

Thinking this, Xiao Jin drew out the Shattered Shadow.

Meanwhile, the other players also saw the ghostly reflection on the elevator door. The only difference was that they all saw the 'protagonist' from their own ghost stories.

"Hehehe..." The female ghost let out a piercing laugh, her figure gradually approaching in the flickering light.

"Get out of my way!" Xiao Jin shouted, swinging his long sword straight at the female ghost's neck.

The female ghost vanished instantly, reappearing behind Xiao Jin the next second. Her severed arm shot out, reaching for Xiao Jin's back.

Xiao Jin dodged to the side and kicked the female ghost away with his knee.

Before he knew it, only he and the female ghost remained in the elevator; Xu Qing and the others had vanished without a trace.

A silver light swept across the female ghost's body, causing her movements to slow noticeably for a moment. Xiao Jin seized the opportunity, swinging his longsword again, the blade slicing across the female ghost's neck.

"Snap—"

The female ghost's head fell off with a thud and rolled onto the floor. Her body froze in place before turning into a wisp of black smoke and dissipating into the air.

"Is that all?" Xiao Jin frowned slightly as she pointed her finger, but then she sensed a murderous intent.

"No, it's not over yet." Xiao Jin's gaze swept over every corner of the elevator.
