Chapter 91 Robbery

Upon arriving at the pharmacy, a pretty young woman in a white coat was sitting at the counter. Her eyes lit up the moment she saw Xiao Jin, and she walked up to him with a smug look on her face.

"Hello, handsome, what would you like to buy?" The pretty girl blinked, her voice exceptionally sweet.

Xiao Jin looked at them and said, "I want to buy some medicine to treat heatstroke, as well as sunburn ointment and spray."

The pretty young woman knew exactly what was going on; most of the people who came to her shop to buy medicine today were buying these kinds of things. She skillfully took out a few items and placed them on the counter.

"These are all effective, especially this traditional Chinese medicine. It works very quickly for people suffering from heatstroke. Which one do you want?"

"Prepare thirty portions of each!"

"Huh?" The pretty girl's eyes widened... How many?... Thirty doses. "These medicines all have an expiration date; wouldn't it be a waste if they expired?"

Xiao Jin still insisted: "It's okay. It's not just for my own use. Dozens of families asked me to buy them for them."

The pretty girl looked enlightened: "Oh, I see. Wait a moment, I'll set it up for you right away."

A short while later, Xiao Jin took the bag and handed the card to the pretty girl.

After the payment was deducted, the young woman handed the card back. She had just tidied her hair and was planning to ask for a contact number to deepen their relationship when she looked up and found that there was no one in front of her.

The pretty girl blinked, and after a while, she put on a mournful face.

Oh no, the perfect guy I was about to have has flown away!

...

Almost two more hours passed before Jensen finally returned with his men!

However, compared to Xiao Jin and the others who had returned earlier, Jian Sen and the others were in a terrible state, with their clothes disheveled and some even missing their shoes.

Our Captain Jian had a dark face, radiating the message that "I'm in a terrible mood right now."

Xiao Jin had exceptionally good eyesight, so he immediately noticed the bright red lipstick mark on the captain's light-colored collar.

At this point, only Xiao Jin would dare to mess with the tiger's tail.

As the person approached, Xiao Jin raised an eyebrow and teased, "Looks like Captain Jian is having a very fulfilling time!"

"Pfft~"

"Cough cough~"

The person standing next to Jensen peeked out, then quickly covered his mouth and turned away, while Anlian and the others opposite him also lowered their heads.

If Jensen hadn't noticed their shrugging shoulders, he wouldn't have understood Xiao Jin's meaning. He lowered his head in confusion, then noticed a throbbing vein on his forehead. Jensen silently took off his coat, rolled it up, and tucked it under his arm.

Before it got dark, Jason decided to continue walking.

Like a weary traveler, the setting sun slowly sank below the horizon, its afterglow painting the sky orange-red, yet also sowing seeds of unease in this tranquil twilight.

Although it was nearing dusk and the scorching sun had disappeared, the surrounding temperature was still unbearably hot.

The car had just left the city and entered a relatively quiet road when Jason, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, suddenly saw something.

In the distance, two enormous trucks, like two moving hills, stood abruptly across the middle of the road.

The cargo on the truck was partially exposed, with boxes of bottled water piled up precariously, and some scattered supplies piled up next to it.

The ground was littered with trash, and there were even car parts stained with blood and broken glass.

As the vehicle drew closer, Jason and his group gradually came into view of the figures standing beside the truck—more than twenty burly, muscular men dressed simply, who appeared to be villagers from a nearby village.

But at this moment, what gleamed in their eyes was no longer diligence and simplicity, but greed and violence.

"Stop! Leave all the water in your car and pay 20,000 yuan in toll fees, or don't even think about getting through here!" The leader's voice was rough and carried an undeniable threat.

Behind him, the others were also eager to make their move, their sticks and knives gleaming coldly in the sunlight, and in an instant, a strong smell of gunpowder filled the air.

Jensen's face instantly darkened.

It hasn't even gotten to that point yet, and there are already so many lawbreakers!

As a special national department, Jensen and his team's firepower is naturally beyond question, but considering the large number of the opposing side and the fact that they also possess a large number of controlled knives.

Therefore, without hesitation, Jason drew a black pistol from his waist, raised it to his chest and pointed it at the crowd, his voice calm and firm: "During this special mission, everyone immediately put down your weapons, put your hands behind your heads and squat down, or I will shoot."

However, these robbers who looked like villagers did not back down despite Jason's warning. After a moment of hesitation, they burst into laughter.

"Hahaha, who are you trying to fool with that broken toy? Do you think I'm stupid? If you're so capable, then shoot one and see what happens," the leader mocked.

"Yeah, fire!"

"Haha, he probably has a water gun in his hand!"

Jason kept his eyes straight ahead, his expression unchanged, and slowly pulled the safety off his pistol, warning again, "I'll say it one more time, put down your weapon immediately."

Inside the car, Xiao Jin and the others sat watching the excitement, while Mao Liu chatted and laughed with An Lian.

After two verbal warnings went unanswered, Jason fired a warning shot the third time without saying a word.

'Bang!'

With a crisp gunshot, the bullet pierced the air, kicking up a cloud of dust on the ground not far from the robbers. Instantly, everyone's laughter ceased, replaced by a deathly silence.

The moment Jason raised his hand again and pointed the gun at the crowd, everyone scattered and hid.

The villagers standing next to the burly man felt a chill run down their spines. What was this? A robbery targeting the police?! This was outrageous!

His legs twitched and he cried out in despair, "Gun! It's a real gun, brother! Let's run!"

The burly man called "Big Brother" swallowed nervously, but after a moment he took a deep breath: "Brothers, don't be afraid. There are so many of us, and he only has one gun. Besides, do you think he'll really dare to shoot?"

“If we let him go now, he’ll call the police and we’ll all be finished. Don’t forget the ‘thing’ in the dirt behind us.” He then glared fiercely at everyone.

Upon hearing this, everyone's expressions visibly showed hesitation.

But the burly man didn't see that as soon as he finished speaking, Jason's grip on the gun suddenly tightened, and his gaze towards him was as cold as if he were looking at a dead man.
