Chapter 94 Self-Destruction

Xiao Jin then found Xu Qing and gave him the same instructions.

Seemingly intentionally separating them, because of the uncertainty surrounding her and Mao Liu, Jensen chose to personally keep an eye on her, while Pan Peng and Xu Qing sat in the other two cars respectively.

Coincidentally, Zhang Qiuwen and Xu Qing were assigned to the same group.

Xu Qing replied with an OK. He had also seen the side quest, and he knew Zhang Qiuwen's importance without Xiao Jin having to say anything more.

That's a whopping 500 points! He only managed to get a little over 700 in the last world. There's a new type of material in the system shop that can make robots more robust and stealthy. Xu Qing has been eyeing it for a long time, but it's a bit expensive.

If we can protect Zhang Qiuwen, then we'll have a place for his case!

The car continued on its way, and halfway through, in order to maintain his condition, Jason switched places with Anlian, letting him rest in the passenger seat.

However, as dawn broke, the scorching sun was once again overhead.

'Bang!'

The cars behind also encountered problems. The car in the middle suddenly made a loud bang while driving, followed by thick smoke billowing from its hood.

The car was forced to stop abruptly, but fortunately the driver behind reacted quickly and braked, preventing a rear-end collision.

People inside rushed out of the car.

"No, the engine is damaged and it can no longer be driven."

Upon hearing the team member's account, Jason pursed his lips.

He then looked at the map, picked up the walkie-talkie and said, "Abandon the vehicles, organize the supplies in the trunk, leave only the necessary items for light travel, and then you can get into these two vehicles."

At Jensen's command, the people in the vehicles sprang into action.

First, regarding the supplies in the trunk, water takes up too much space, so even though it's precious now, we have to give it up. As for food, we'll keep compressed biscuits. We'll tie sleeping bags, tents, and other items to the roof if possible, but if all else fails, we'll just have to leave them out.

An Lian got out of the car and tidied up the trunk. Just as he was about to open the car door, Jian Sen gestured to him: "Go to the back and let Xiao Jin sit here."

Anlian paused for a moment, then turned around and opened the back door of the car.

Xiao Jin raised an eyebrow, said nothing, nodded to An Lian, and then got out of the car and went to the passenger seat.

For the rest of the journey, everyone silently prayed that the car wouldn't have another accident. If it did, they would have no choice but to abandon the car and walk!

Fortunately, their car didn't run into any more problems before entering the next town, but for safety reasons, Jason still decided to have it repaired first.

The sun was getting stronger and stronger during the day, and the temperature was rising sharply. There were no other vehicles passing by on the road except for them.

The map indicates that Chuanshui County is ahead. Although the county is not large, it has all the necessary facilities.

Jason planned to rest here first. It was too hot during the day, and not only the car couldn't withstand it, but the people couldn't either. In addition, they hadn't rested at all last night, so it was better to avoid the sun during the day and conserve their energy before continuing their journey at night.

As for the car, you can either rent one or borrow one.

Which city doesn't have sister units? Jason can easily borrow a police car by writing a note.

From afar, everyone could see the brightly lit sign standing outside Chuanshui County.

Mao Liu took a deep breath and silently moved himself a little closer to the door.

"We've finally arrived." He really wouldn't have made it any closer.

Even with the air conditioning set to a very low temperature, it still couldn't withstand four big men crammed into the back seat. We were so crowded we were practically pancakes. Luckily, I'm a bit thin, or I would have had trouble breathing!

Thinking of this, Mao Liu glanced sadly at Jian Sen in the front seat, and then secretly glanced at Xiao Jin, who looked refreshed, in the passenger seat.

Is this what the big shots get?

Ignoring the burning gaze behind him, Jensen pretended to look straight ahead, but his thoughts had already drifted off to who-knows-where!

Logically speaking, since Xiao Jin is small, sitting in the back would reduce the burden on the people behind her. A sturdy person should be arranged to sit in the passenger seat.

When Ke Anlian got on the bus, he inexplicably asked someone to switch seats with Xiao Jin. For some reason, he felt it wasn't right for Xiao Jin to be squeezed together with a group of sweaty, smelly men.

By the time he realized what had happened, it was too late to take it back, so Jason had no choice but to grit his teeth and drive the car out.

The vehicle slowly drove into the territory of Chuanshui County. The liberation that everyone had been praying for was about to arrive, but who would have thought that they would see this scene in front of them.

It was as if it had been swept away by a sudden storm, leaving behind a scene of devastation.

On both sides of the road, the horrific scene of rear-end collisions was shocking. Dozens of vehicles were tightly intertwined, with twisted metal and bloodstains everywhere.

There appeared to have been an explosion nearby; the center of the rear-end collision was covered in charred remains, and flames were still rising from the burning frame.

In the air, besides a faint smell of gasoline, there was also a hint of blood. Jason drove slowly through the area, and after seeing several corpses scattered behind the car, he silently closed his eyes.

"How could this happen?" someone murmured inside the car.

“It’s a knife wound,” Xiao Jin said.

They were all experts in handling knives, and Xiao Jin didn't need to say much for them to know, which was what made it so incredible.

I thought the group of villagers I encountered before was just an isolated case, but why is this happening here too!

The group looked around in bewilderment.

Scattered across the ground were all sorts of trash, laid out haphazardly like fragments of an abandoned world. Amidst these ruins, severed arms and legs stood out starkly, next to large patches of dried blood.

The long, sharp knife lay silently on the cold road, its blood-soaked blade seemingly telling a story of untold tragedy.

The shops all around were wide open, but empty. Shelves were overturned, goods were scattered all over the floor, some bearing the marks of being violently torn, suggesting a fierce fight had recently taken place.

The broken glass gleamed with a cold light under the sunlight, and the scraps of looted food even spilled outside the store.

The people inside the car looked grave, with Jason's brows furrowed.

After a moment, he gave the order: "The scouts should go out and find a place to stay, and the rest of you should go and see if there are any other survivors around."

Remember, if you notice anything unusual, don't act on your own. Come back and report immediately. Xiao Jin, you come with me to find the car.

Xiao Jin nodded: "Let Mao Liu and the others go together. They know what they're doing."

Jensen glanced at Mao Liu through the car mirror: "Okay, be careful."

Mao Liu and Xiao Jin exchanged a glance, realizing that she wanted them to keep an eye on Zhang Qiuwen, and immediately replied, "Understood!"

Then everyone got out of the car. Xiao Jin followed Jian Sen, and the two of them first drove around the surrounding streets. Cars were not hard to find, they were everywhere. The two of them just wanted to see if there were any clues around.
