Chapter 69: A moment of silence.

The diary entries end here; turning the pages further reveals a blank page.

"So that's how it is. What are those voices? Are they the so-called gods?"

"It seems that the survival game we've entered is inextricably linked to the other side."

As Mo Ran thought about this, she sensed a hint of conspiracy.

Mo Ran put the notebook back into the skeleton's pocket and used a crowbar to pry it aside.

"The cellar described in the diary should be under this desk."

Mo Ran shone a flashlight down and peered through the gap under the desk. Sure enough, she saw a handle on the ground.

The handle appears to have been impacted and is now completely deformed.

Mo Ran went to the other side of the desk and forcefully pushed it aside.

"Sizzle! Sizzle!"

The heavy desk scraped against the floor, making a screeching sound.

As the desk above was moved away, a square underground door appeared in front of Mo Ran.

"The handle of this hidden door is all deformed from being hit; it looks like we'll have to use a crowbar to pry it open."

Mo Ran inserted the crowbar into the gap, and then used a lever.

A crack was pried open in the hidden door, and then, grabbing the edge with his left hand, he lifted it up in one swift motion.

As soon as the hidden door opened, something suddenly appeared inside and touched Mo Ran's left foot.

"I'll blanch it!"

Mo Ran jolted awake and quickly pulled her left foot back.

He swung the crowbar in his right hand and slammed it hard against the thing.

He then quickly stepped back, picked up the flashlight from the ground, and shone it directly at the source.

In their line of sight, a shattered bone hand was seen groping outside the hidden door.

"Phew~ That scared the hell out of me! I thought something had tugged at my foot!"

After seeing the thing clearly, Mo Ran breathed a sigh of relief.

He then stepped forward and opened the hidden door with a single swift motion.

As soon as the hidden door opened, a disgusting stench of decay wafted out.

"Boiled! Ugh! What the hell is this smell?!"

Even with a helmet on, Mo Ran could smell a strong stench of decay.

Mo Ran quickly retreated a long distance; the smell truly made him feel nauseous.

After waiting for a long time, Mo Ran finally dared to step forward to check.

Although the stench is still there, it's much better than before.

Mo Ran slowly approached the hidden door and shone her flashlight inside.

Time leads down a stone staircase, and at this moment, we are on that staircase.

It was crowded with several skeletons, each one retaining the miserable appearance it had in life.

Using all his strength, he rushed outwards, the cover of the hidden door below covered with various scratches.

Many of the fingers on those skeletons had their fingertips worn down.

"No wonder the handle on the secret door was deformed; the person inside was desperately trying to get out."

"This is indescribable, Parker."

Seeing this scene at the entrance, Mo Ran looked speechlessly at the skeleton next to her.

Good grief, while others weren't eaten by that so-called monster, you just locked them up inside and killed them.

Shining a flashlight deeper inside, you can see broken and mangled skeletons everywhere.

A layer of unknown black substance flowed on the ground, resembling rotting and melting flesh and fat.

"Ugh! This is so disgusting! I didn't find anything on this trip, but I did get to look at a bunch of 'food-eating' stuff!"

Mo Ran didn't want to look at the contents anymore; he was almost disgusted to the point of collapse.

Turning around and flipping over the pile of tables and chairs, Mo Ran decided to leave the village.

Just now, from Parker's diary, Mo Ran learned that he came from a military base in the north.

Military bases, without a doubt, contain a ton of good stuff.

After leaving the building, Mo Ran began to head back towards the direction of the hamster.

"Watch out! There are eight men with ill intentions around! They're lying in ambush on you!"

As Mo Ran walked down the street, she heard the voice in her mind, and her eyes narrowed instantly.

However, he remained nonchalant and continued walking forward.

"Mouse, get ready to support me."

Mo Ran spoke softly inside the helmet, and no one heard her.

"Understood, conductor!"

The cold, mechanical voice of a mouse echoed in my mind.
