The rain continued for two more days. On the third day, the dark clouds finally dispersed, revealing some gentle sunlight.
Li Xian opened his eyes, got up from the ground, and first looked at the person on the bed.
Xu Nuo likes to curl up into a ball when she sleeps, like a little shrimp, revealing half of her peaceful sleeping face, which is delicate and beautiful.
Li Xian bent down and called her softly, "Nuonuo, wake up."
The spoiled brat frowned, let out a rather unhappy groan, turned over, and murmured, "Sleep a little longer."
Li Xian found it somewhat amusing.
This person, who is as lazy as a cat in bed, had repeatedly told Li Xian before going to sleep last night that he must wake her up: "If I stay in bed, you have to drag me out of bed."
Li Xian sighed, ultimately unable to bring himself to grab the person.
He carried water into the kitchen, lit a fire, and started boiling the water.
Xu Nuo is as delicate as a flower grown in a greenhouse. Not only does she want her drinking water to be boiled and cooled, but even the water for washing her hands is boiled and mixed with water by Li Xian.
With water boiling in the pot, he tidied up Xu Nuo's things and put them into her small bag.
The heavy rain a few days ago disrupted our journey, and Xu Nuo has been staying in Lu County. Today we have to send her back to the city, otherwise it will be difficult to explain to both sides.
Half an hour later, Li Xian went into the room to check on her. Xu Nuo was still fast asleep, clutching her blanket. He picked her up and called to her, "Nuonuo, it's time to go into the city."
If it gets too late, you might run into other villagers.
Xu Nuo drowsily lifted her eyelids, reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck, buried her face in his chest, rubbed against him, and nuzzled against him, but wouldn't get up.
She was very sleepy.
Li Xian coaxed her, "Put your coat on."
She didn't move, so Li Xian had no choice but to take her jacket, grab her two thin, white arms, and somewhat awkwardly put it on for her.
He put shoes and socks on her before lifting her into his arms.
When Xu Nuo regained consciousness, Li Xian had already carried her halfway up the mountain path.
Her chin rested on the man's broad shoulder, her gaze fixed on the wind- and rain-ravaged mountains and forests, and she seemed somewhat dazed.
She moved her head slightly, and Li Xian asked her, "Awake?"
Xu Nuo hummed in agreement, a little embarrassed, and wrapped her arms around his neck, acting coquettishly, "Why didn't you call me?"
Li Xian paused and glanced at her.
His eyes were dark and innocent, as if to say, "I shouted."
Xu Nuo was very self-aware, knowing that it wouldn't be easy to wake him up. She reached out and wiped the sweat from his forehead, then asked with a smile, "Aren't I getting up?"
Li Xian jerked her around, and Xu Nuo quickly caught him.
His lips curved into a smile. Yes, he was whining like a lazy cat, refusing to get up, and he couldn't really lift him up.
Xu Nuo wanted to walk by herself, so she twisted her body and said, "I'll walk by myself."
"Don't move." Li Xian held the person tightly: "The ground is slippery, you'll fall."
Xu Nuo looked down and saw that the ground was muddy, with yellow soil mixed with withered branches and rotten leaves.
Li Xian's tattered canvas shoes were covered in mud, and even his rolled-up trouser legs were a foot wet.
Xu Nuo's white shoes had just been cleaned by Li Xian, and she didn't want to get them dirty again.
Since the man didn't complain of being tired, she gave up on leaving on her own and simply put her arms around his neck, resting her chin on his shoulder and staring blankly.
For some reason, she thought of Xu Yan. As she thought about it, she realized that this was a world in a book, and her current partner was the male lead who was supposed to be in a loving relationship with the female lead.
Xu Nuo was upset.
She gritted her teeth and reached out to lift his collar.
Li Xian tilted his head in surprise, wanting to ask Xu Nuo why she was lifting his clothes, but before he could ask, his body suddenly froze.
Xu Nuo bit him.
"Nuonuo." Li Xian gritted his teeth, his face flushed, and pulled her close. Seeing her innocent and charming appearance, he asked, "Are you hungry?"
Xu Nuo feigned anger and huffed, then said coquettishly, "Yes, I'm starving."
There was nothing for her to eat on this desolate mountain. She was just looking for trouble. Who knew that the next second, Li Xian would put her on a big rock and then take out two boiled eggs.
I peeled the shell and put it in her hand.
Li Xian said, "Eat."
Xu Nuo opened her mouth, took a bite of the egg, and chewed it carefully, her lips still pouting. Li Xian squatted down in front of her, held the water to her lips, and whispered, "Take a sip."
Xu Nuo glanced at him, tilted her head back, and said, "You can't drink water while eating."
Li Xian wasn't particular about these things; he would drink water and eat food whenever there was something to eat. Hearing this, he put the lid back on and said, "I'll drink it later."
Xu Nuo felt like she was punching cotton; no matter how hard she tried, it was like she wasn't putting in any effort. She awkwardly stuffed a piece into his hand and said, "You eat it."
Li Xian took it and finished it in two bites. He squatted down and patiently reminded her, "Nuonuo, you have to chew."
Xu Nuo puffed out her cheeks and chewed twice.
"Don't space out."
Xu Nu blinked twice.
Li Xian reached out and wiped her mouth: "Are you still hungry?"
Xu Nuo shook her head: "I'm not hungry."
"Let's go then." He stood up, put one hand under her knees, and used the other hand to support his back as he lifted her up.
Xu Nuo hugged him softly without saying a word. Li Xianwei turned his head slightly, pressed his cheek against hers, and asked, "Why were you unhappy just now?"
Well…
Xu Nuo blinked her big eyes, unsure how to explain her unreasonable behavior to him. She couldn't very well tell him, "I know who your future wife is; it's not me, it's my sister Xu Yan."
Li Xian thought she was still unhappy, so he reached out and patted her back, his eyes filled with worry. He said softly, "I've never really interacted with people much since I was little, so I don't know why you're angry. Tell me, and I won't make you angry again."
A tall man, 1.88 meters tall, looked like a child who had done something wrong. Xu Nuo felt a pang of sadness. She hugged his neck tightly, gently rubbed her forehead against his neck, and whispered an excuse in his ear: "I... have been away for too many days, and I'm afraid of being scolded when I go home."
Li Xian gave her a deep look and asked, "Really?"
Xu Nuo wrinkled her little nose and said with a wronged expression, "Well, it's possible that you won't let me come to Lu County anymore, and then you won't be able to see me again."
Li Xian's eyes darkened, and he hugged her tightly again, patting her back gently, and said, "I will come to find you."
"Every day?"
Xu Nuo asked casually, but Li Xian nodded without hesitation and said very seriously, "Yes."
It only takes an hour to get to the city. If she can't come to Luxian Village, he will naturally go to see her.
Xu Nuo felt a sweet warmth in her heart, like she had drunk honey. Her anger from her earlier wild thoughts dissipated, and her eyes and brows smiled, forming two small crescent moons.
Li Xian's lips curved slightly, his eyes filled with her smile.
