The two nodded and bent down to carefully wrap the buns.

Because making steamed buns takes a long time, all three of them got up early; it was still barely dawn.

"It's not open yet."

One of them took off his hat and fanned himself, then pulled open his collar, saying, "It's so hot, we're too early, it's not open yet."

They walked quickly, while the group behind them would probably take several more hours.

“I told you we wouldn’t get any food if we came early,” said Chen Qi’s roommate, fanning himself. “You run so fast, like a cannonball is shooting up from behind.”

Chen Qi shrugged, ignoring his roommate's sarcasm. He looked the restaurant up and down when, unexpectedly, the door opened, revealing three figures.

"Holy crap—"

He was startled and quickly took a few steps back, the restaurant lights illuminating the person's face.
